I called about remote starters just before the sub-zero blast before Christmas 2016. All my questions were answered. I went in the same day and the same questions and more were answered again. I can't remember her name but the lady who helped me was patient and when she didn't know the answer she asked someone else. I bought a Compustar2way starter that was on sale. It was installed in my 2010 Camry the next day without any problems. I deducted 1 star due to being slightly nickel and dimed about programming the trunk release button. I didn't pay to have it done since that button is on the car key. As it turned out it works in the remote starter after all. I paid 430.00 and had it installed one day before below zero weather hit. I took my wife 1999 Buick for a stereo upgrade and Mach 1 in Hopkins did a terrific job. They knew right away that we had to scrap the original GM amp, while the big box retailer salespeople did not seem concerned about the end result, just put some new speakers and hope for the better, the salesperson might not even work there in few months anyway. The difference in knowledge between the two businesses is so obvious to me. Wife is very happy, and you can hear her car coming 3 blocks away ;-)) read more

Absolutely terrible install. Took 5 days to install one head unit. Told me 24 hours. Rude service and cut corners. Brought my truck to a different company to redo the whole thing. Use construction paper and laminate to create a "custom" frame for my after market GPS... Oh by the way the owner is not a nice man with poor ethics. Don't go here!! read more

M .W. 12/16/2013 Had remote start put in daughter's car. An appt. was made, but she was told that someone called and cancelled. This was not possible, since she showed up for the appt. Employee helping her was arrogant. She called me, I called and spoke to employee,(Mark) Was pretty abrupt with me saying he was busy , and if I had nothing else we were done. Was in the market for a new head unit and speakers. A quick search online led me to Mach 1. From the outside it looks seemingly run down. The strip mall is quite old. As soon as you walk in though it is loaded with high end product. This isn't your typical big box store that carries low end garbage. You will see Focal, Hertz, Audison, etc. Brent (owner) was helping me out and hooked me up with an excellent deal on a set of component speakers. Very straight forward with no BS. Will be going again i'm sure. read more

The installer Mark is awesome let's get that straight right away. However the owner Brent not so much.Bought 2-12 kicker comps from him and the they started having clipping issues a few months after the install. he told me i was too hard on the subs and they blew. so I purchased 2 more 12inch PS3's. it turned out the amp needed repair because a different installer screwed up the initial install. the amp was sent in for repair at no extra charge but i bought 2 new subs which was absolutely unnecessary. The kickers worked fine but he said they were fried. so after the purchase of 2 new subs, new box, cost of install it was very very costly. i would not recommend this Mach 1 simply for the dishonesty of Brent and to make several hundred extra dollars. Customers go to places like these because they need professionalism and efficiency not to be taken for a ride. read more

Unethical business practices! I bought a Groupon for a remote car starter for Mach 1. In the add it clearly states that an $80 additional fee may be required for some vehicles. When I called to schedule install they claimed that it would require an additional $230 which is more than the Groupon. Manager Brent was extremely rude and refused to offer any assistance. read more

Went to Crystal location to have a double din installed. Stereo stopped working in 2 weeks (no sound). Had my friend (who is an install tech) look at install. He said they installed the wrong amp wire (10 amps vs 12 amps) which friend my factory amplifier. Went back to shop at Crystal, they told me it was a fault of my car and to "F*** Off." Spoke with owner who feigned an apology and asked me to go to Hopkins store. Went to Hopkins store today. They attempted to charge me $300 in labor to *fix* the problem that they caused (this is on top of the $185 I had already paid). Filing a BBB complaint next. read more

Would not suggest. If you don't know much about speakers they will be extremely rude the women working the store front was nice but the tech who checked out my car was extremely rude. It was a good start but when he looked at the speakers he goes "these speakers are pretty shitty". I bought them brand new. Didn't appreciate the comment whether they were shitty or not. He just stood there asking me questions I had no clue about. And I would ask what do you think and he would completely ignore and act like I'm an idiot. Totally dissatisfied. read more

This a review for the Mach 1 7th st in St. Paul. I went there to buy a new wiring harness for my pioneer deck that i was going to put in my new car. The car I bought already had an older pioneer deck in it and so the man working told me I didn't need a new one since the decks were the same brand. I thanked him and left. for some reason when my buddy tried putting in my deck it wasn't working, i figured it was the harness and that it was too old for my model or something (I don't know to much about car sound systems ha) so i went back to get a new one. the same man was working and i told him what happened, he said 'well lets take a look because I don't wanna charge you $20 bucks for something you already have." He determined I had a couple blown fuses, he fixed them and plugged in my deck and sent me on my way! This man was so kind and I was so happy I didn't have a to buy a new one. The St.Paul location is actually interested in their customers and while this man could have easily made 20 bucks off me, he decided to help me and save me the money instead. I've been here a couple other times and have always gotten great service :) thanks so much! read more

I needed a custom dash install for my car stereo. The time estimate given was accurate and for the most part I was pretty happy with the work. However, the car was returned with dirt marks on the dash, rugs, and seats when I gave it to them in pristine condition. My initial thoughts were their concern was only to get the stereo installed and the professionalism stopped there (time to move on). Good work but I was definitely not wowed by their customer service. read more
