Quite simply, this is the Place to go in Ayr. My friends and I could not fault the service, the ambiance, and the food that was served to us in such a genuinely friendly manner.
Choice of excellent food from a well thought-out menu was on a par with Ayrshire's best restaurants.
Similarly, the range of available drinks to suit all tastes and tolerances was capable of satisfying kids to connoisseurs.
Background music was as it ought to be, in classic, relaxed style, and the volume was thankfully subdued yet of a quality that complimented the new decor and tasteful design features within the comfortable dining and bar area.
Ayr's newest Gem is so central, and I now see why the dining public and visitors alike are attracted to return to Macfarlanes, where hospitable, friendly and competent staff give standards of service even better to that which we received a few days ago at Edinburgh's Waldorf Astoria, magnificent Peacock Alley.
