I've been to this Hotel for high tea twice, and both times have been delicious. They have a…read moreseparate dining room with one wall which is a window/patio, which they open if the weather is nice. They also have a wide variety of tea, and have coffee as well if you'd prefer. The high tea consists of scones with cream and jam, mousse, various desserts including brownies, lemon squares, mini victorian cakes, and macarons, and 2-3 varieties of finger sandwiches. The staff are very considerate and kind, and the whole experience is lovely. The price is reasonable, especially for high tea. I would probably visit again for another tea celebration!

Recently we hired a room and ordered afternoon tea for 17 of us. Booking the room was easy enough…read morethey just wanted the group to preorder and pay for the food. Ordering the food was a little trickier but once you could finally get to speak to the person who deals with it then it was fine. This took three tries of calling but the staff were friendly so it wasn't too bad. The room they gave was plenty big enough and the doors opened onto the beautifully kept outside area. They had set two tables up for us to eat. There was plenty of food and they catered for allergies though they could make little signs for the food that's free from, just so there's no confusion and it isn't eaten by others mistakenly. The quality of the food was ok and I'm not sure the cakes were made in house, they looked like they were brought in, butthen again you're only paying £7.50.

I loved this hotel ... It is fairly new so all of the fixtures and the room was very nice and clean…read moreand fresh. My room was luckily overlooking the river and I got a fantastic view of the sunset and spinningfields. The dining area was right next to the river and was awesome ... The all you can eat breakfasts that premier inn offer are the best I have had. It is all within 5 minutes walk from spinningfields and Salford central train station and with road links very close by. 5 minutes walk to Deansgate and thus the shopping and other great features Manchester has to offer. I need to stay here again very soon.

The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast in the morning, normally its a buffet but due to…read morecovid restrictions its table service only. I placed my order and about ten minutes later it arrived, freshly cooked, piping hot and beautifully laid out in the plate; all for 8.99. The room had a reasonable size TV and free wifi is an essential these days. They have an arrangement with the NCP car park round the corner for discounted rates. The staff were very helpful, in the evening I needed directions to get to This and That (you can read my review here on Yelp) and the lady printed out a map for me to follow. The duty manager in the morning ensured a smooth checkout and served the aforementioned breakfast beautifully. The only thing I would improve is to empower the staff more like in the best hotels, when I arrived after a long drive from London there was a problem with my reservation so I was hanging around in the lobby for half an hour while this was sorted when all I wanted to do was freshen up. When this has happened to me previously receptionists have said just go up to the room and relax while we get this sorted.

I wouldn't usually write a review for something like a Travelodge. It's your bargain hotel chain…read morewith your basic bedroom facilities and you get what you pay for with no surprises. However. The Upper Brook Street hotel is by far one of the best especially, if like me, you are wanting to find a hotel for Manchester Pride. Every August Bank Holiday hotels all over Manchester charge extortionate amounts to stay in the city. This travelodge however works out at around £100-£120 for two nights. So £60 each (£30 a night) or about £40/£30 if you get a family room for 3/4 people. That's a bargain price for a hotel that is just 10 minutes away or less from Canal St in a taxi. This year we used Uber which was never more than £3-£5 to get to the city. The rooms are a great size and the hotel is only a couple of years old so nice a fresh and they have just updated all the beds to super comfy king size! I loved it. So Pride goers or those looking for a night out in Manchester, I recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere at the weekend when the hotels in the city centre are not in your budget.

Free parking is always a bonus, first come basis, but we left a few times and returned with spaces…read morealways free! Little bit out of city centre and more buses 'not in service' than running. Hotel is near a busy A&E so bring earplugs, luckily my friend snores so I came prepared! Nice to have the extra bed made up, sometimes it isn't even when twin/family room booked. Extra towels on request no problem, slight niggle with bulb being out in corridor, which being in an end room made the key card slot a little difficult to find in the semi-dark! TV channels also not in order and random, no ch5, and only 3 radio chamnels Kevin, on Reception was very friendly and helpful, and there is a Tesco Express, Morrisons, Subway, Costa and takeaways etc closeby
