My boyfriend and I recently took a trip to Manchester, England to meet up with my bestfriend and his girlfriend who were in the UK on holiday. As time was limited, it was better that we visit them in Manchester, and not have them come to Glasgow..
We booked in the Novotel as that was where my friends were staying.
The entrance was grand and modern looking. Bright colours everywhere and the restaurant was just off to the left of the entrance. We got in to town much earlier than check in time, but we decided to see if they had a dropping point to leave our luggage so we could head out to meet our friends. To our complete surprise, they had a room free and we were able to drop our bags in our room, get settled for a bit and head out on the town.
The room is what you would expect out of a modern hotel. Big bright and airy. We booked in a queen sized room, which came with a pull out couch, plenty of storage and a wonderful bath that had a rainforest type shower system. The room had a wee refrigerator with overpriced waters, but just enough space to bring your own. The room was also equipped with wifi, and your standard kettle/coffee/tea/biscuit selection. It got the job done, when it came time to get back to the room for a sleep.
We only had one small issue, if you could even call it that, and that was there was not enough milk for the coffee. My boyfriend takes a drop and I usually take enough to make my coffee less like coffee and more like milk with the taste of coffee. Not to fear, he ran down the hall to the cleaning person and was able to get more. Fab.
All in all, it's a pretty standard hotel, and it gets the job done. The bed was a little firm for my liking and I could have done with a bit more covers at night, but my boyfriend can sleep anywhere, and we ended up having quite an enjoyable night.
I think if we were to go back to Manchester, I could see us staying here again. Not too pricey and close to everything. read more
