Horrid service!!!!! I was referred here by the Apple store in Sarasota for an issue w my 2012 MACBook Air. I arrived to find a table outside (at a strip mall mind you) that said "computer drop off"... and signs all over that say in all caps "DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR". The man came to the door and opened it and asked if I was picking up a laptop- I told him I wasn't and that I just had a question. He proceeded to tell me to call him on his phone, shut the door, wrote his number on a piece of paper, opened the door and handed that to me, then closed the door and locked it. So... While standing OUTSIDE the door I call him (he's sitting in a chair right inside) and ask my question. He proceeds to talk to me while I am standing outside his door at a strip mall, while he sits in a chair right inside!!! He tells me I won't need an appt and the computer should be done within an hour... but to come back between 11am and 1pm Mon- Fri (it was about 230pm on a Thursday when I was there)... keep in mind the stores hours are 9am-4pm Mon-Fri. Don't get me wrong... I completely get being cautious and safe due to covid... but if your honestly so scared that you are treating customers sooo poorly, then you shouldn't be open!!! This was extremely unprofessional and quite childish. I would NEVER in a million years recommend this place!!! Find a place that values their customers.

Chris just helped me with my printer even though it got him nothing by way of a fee.

I woke up the very morning after Christmas Day (to start my work-day) to find my 2-year old desktop…read morecomputer slowly dying. No-matter what I did, it would not work properly. (I am not new to computers so I realized I was in big trouble.) So, in a virtual panic - no let me be honest - a full-fledged complete panic!. I typed-in (on my iPad) a quick Google search 'Computer Repair Near Me'. One of the first listings was this company, COMPUTER SAVVY on Lockwood Ridge Road. Expecting them to be closed for the holiday, I was VERY impressed that the Owner answered his cell phone. Yes, they were closed for the day, but he wanted to make sure that panicky people like me could survive the day with at least some response from a computer expert. I truly appreciated that, and my heart-rate started to immediately go down. He immediately started to help me, while on his holiday. He recommended that I try to back-up as much of my computer would allow (to an external hard-drive that you plug into your computer), then to bring my computer to his office the next morning, so that I could get in-line for review and possible repair. So, I raced to Best Buy and bought and external Hard-drive, to get as much backed-up as possible. Because my computer was in such bad shape, however, I didn't get very far. Now I must admit, I am not a very trusting person. Especially since this big black box (my computer) contains my ENTIRE LIFE and WORK in it, was very scary to hand over to a group of complete strangers. But I had to muster-up some quick faith solely, based on my first call with the Owner. Also, their web-site looked like they are computer experts, so that also inspired confidence. HOWEVER, little did I know then, that I didn't have to worry at all. The first person that greeted me the next morning was Mary, a friendly and professional computer tech who asked all of the right questions, carefully documented what I was bringing her, and discussed how much it would be to check my computer & hard-drive, and the price for doing all of that was very fair. I waited to hear back (on pins and needles) and the news was bad. My hard-drive had been slowly dying for a LONG time, I was unaware. I always had some minor issues with this computer, for a long time, but I chalked it up to nothing in life being perfect, but now I know there was a really serious problem that was getting worse over time, and I now put the pieces together it makes sense. Small glitches that should have not been happening all this time. So, then I go back to the shop to discuss with the Owner the best course of action. He was refreshingly honest and knowledgeable. He offered me two different ways to go to fix my problem, but I was again very impressed that he made every effort to come up with a solution to fix my computer that would satisfy BOTH maximizing the function of my computer, as well as minimizing the cost of the repair/solution. To be honest, I had recently hit a big rough spot economically, so he will never know just how much I appreciate his thinking about the economics factor, not just the technical side of it. THANK YOU endlessly for that. In that same meeting, we agreed to go with one of the suggested repair options, and I then met another computer tech named Darryl. Darryl would be re-building and fixing my computer (all hard-drive issues). I quickly discovered that Darryl is AMAZING also, polite, professional and truly cared about my computer issues. Darryl worked with me on every detail, and within a reasonable period of time, my computer was up and running, and even better than before! Meanwhile, Mary, bless her heart, worked hard in the back-ground trying every possible method of getting as many files off of my dying hard-drive that she could. Luckily I had Carbonite, but because my hard-drive was dying, not all of the files made it to Carbonite, so it was critical to still try to get them off of the broken hard-drive if possible. She has been great, working on that. Oh, this is also very important: After the computer was repaired, we needed to re-install some complicated design-software that I use for all of my work. We had some weird unexpected issues with my software not wanting to work with the new hardware set-up, but Darryl quickly worked out some excellent solutions so that everything now works like a dream! My entire computer system even BETTER than before, on ALL levels!!! Needless to day, I am INCREDIBLY HAPPY with the service and prices I received from COMPUTER SAVVY! They were really busy (which says a lot), and yet they took care of me promptly and expertly. This un-trusting person actual has found a service business that I can completely trust! How rare is that? Thank you to everyone at Computer Savvy for your outstanding service. Customer for life.

I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a deceptive and unfair warranty…read morepractice by Apple Inc. in connection with the diagnosis and handling of a defective iPhone that remained under the manufacturer's express warranty. I owned an iPhone 15 that was still within Apple's limited warranty period. The device exhibited severe and abnormal battery drain, rendering it unusable after only several hours of normal use. I contacted my wireless carrier, T-Mobile, and was advised that because the device was under Apple's warranty, I should seek service directly from Apple. I subsequently visited an Apple Store for warranty evaluation. Apple personnel informed me that there was "no issue" with the battery hardware despite the abnormal battery performance. I contested this conclusion based on the device's real-world behavior. Apple representatives asserted that the issue was caused by "software" rather than a hardware defect and recommended that I perform a complete device wipe and reinstall all applications from scratch before Apple would further address the issue. This proposed remediation imposed a substantial and unreasonable burden, requiring several hours of uncompensated time and disruption. I declined and noted that if Apple's diagnosis were accurate, then a newly purchased iPhone running the same operating system and applications would necessarily exhibit the same battery drain. Apple personnel did not provide a substantive response to this point. Because Apple refused to repair or replace the device under warranty, I purchased a new iPhone at my own expense. I installed the same operating system version, restored the same applications, and resumed the same usage patterns. Under these identical conditions, the battery drain issue did not occur. The replacement device functioned normally. This outcome directly contradicts Apple's stated diagnosis and strongly indicates that the original device suffered from a hardware defect that should have been covered under warranty. Apple's refusal to honor its warranty caused me financial harm and forced the replacement of a device that should have been repaired or replaced at no cost. I am concerned that Apple's conduct reflects a broader practice of attributing hardware defects to nonspecific "software" causes in order to discourage or avoid valid warranty claims, particularly where the proposed remediation imposes an unreasonable time burden on consumers. If systemic, such practices may constitute unfair or deceptive acts or practices under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) and undermine the purpose of express consumer warranties.
