I had a total disappointing experience at the MAC store in Willowbrook Mall. About 2 weeks ago I walked in to the store to make an appointment for a full face makeover for an upcoming wedding I was attending. Yesterday June 6th at 9:35 am I receive a call from the store manager clearly stating oh there has been a mistake and your 12:30 pm appointment was booked for 15 min so you can come in at a later time we can do it then but I have another appointment right after you so we can't do your make up at the time it was scheduled. So I explain I have a wedding to attend I can't do later but maybe I can Try and come in earlier. How about 11:30 am because again I really need to have my make up done. So being I had a prior appointment and I noticed I wouldn't be done in time I called the store and told the gentleman that answered I'm not going to make it at 11:30 but as soon as I'm done I'll be there just so you know I'm still coming. So I made it at 12:10 pm 20 min prior to when my original appointment was booked. When I walked through the door I was not even greeted properly by neither one of the 3 staff members by the register. As soon as I approached the front and tell them I'm here for an appointment the manager right away begins to bark at me your appoint was for 11:30 and it's 12:10 we can do one service because you are late etc. again I explain to her I made my appoint in store it was not my mistake your store made the mistake because I clearly came to your store and made an appointment. She proceeds to say well you can try Macys or Bloomingdale's to do your make up. Excuse me the day of my event you are going to send me to a different store. At this point I'm livid customers service went out the door professionalism out the door. This lady Monica has never been a manager prior to this opportunity Mac gave her and unfortunately the job and responsibility is too much for her to handle. Even my 10 year old can take responsibility when he makes a mistake this lady clearly missed business management 101. At this point I didn't even want the service but I still had to attend this wedding and it was too late to try anywhere else but I don't support businesses that don't know how to treat paying customers. And yes make up is free but you have to purchase 4 products which is the same as paying. After going back and forth with this lady for about 5 min she tells me have a seat we can do our best. Honestly patience at this point the guy that took down my appointment that made the mistake took no responsibility for the mistake. He ended up doing my make up he didn't do a bad job but it was basic and rushed. They had 3 make up artist on staff who can all do make up and you still decide to give me a hard time because of your mistake. So while I'm sitting there the next appointment walks in and guess what it was a white lady with her white daughter they walked in 12:30 pm the same mistake could have affected their appointment but why weren't they told anything why weren't they barked at as soon as they walked through the door. Now I don't pull race anywhere I go but this was clearly out in the open because I'm of color maybe I wasn't going to spend or you thought I wasn't going to spend. I am never walking into this store again and would never recommend Mac to anyone I know. Horrible customer service horrible staff. They completely ruined my experience with Mac and I was a customer for a very long time. Zero stars is what they deserve. read more

I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this location. I only came here this past Sunday because the MAC at Macy's in Willowbrook Mall didn't have the lipstick I wanted. I've been to this store a few times before and it's always the same, regardless of whether it's busy or slow. Associates with attitudes, nobody pays attention to you when you need help, etc. I remember actually waiting for at least ten minutes to pay for an item on a previous visit. I stood right by the checkout counter and nobody tried to help me. I literally could have walked out of the store with my products without paying and nobody would've noticed. I ultimately decided to put my item back and left empty handed due to the frustration. That being said, I had the same experience this past Sunday. Nobody offers to help you even when the store is dead, but I finally found an associate to get the lipstick I wanted out of the drawer. I paid and was on my way. I'd go somewhere else, especially if you are someone who needs help or advice with makeup shopping. They don't seem to know how to provide that at this location. read more

Ashante was awful to me. Huge attitude problem. I came in with the intent to buy a single eyeshadow and somehow she forced i get a 15 eyeshadow palette. I repeated a few times I would really like the 9 template because I barely have 8 eyeshadows total. She rolled her eyes at me as I was leaving and after a few minutes I walked back in with hopes of another sales associate can help me pleasantly. *sigh after dreadfully BEGGING HER. Ashanti finally gave me a refund and switched the palette to a 9. So sad, if she had treated me a lot better. Would of spent over $200.... My bf and I came back a week later and luckily we met a much more sweeter mua. Happily spent $200. Sorry Ashanti. Maybe if you didn't underestimate me so much. So I called the Saturday of Halloween weekend (last weekend) borderline begging for a makeup app because I had gotten such a bad spray tan the night before and my makeup wasn't doing the trick ‍ and I had a wedding to go to . I wish I could give no stars. I usually do not have any issues. I love Mac and a good amount of the artists I already know. Today, I was absolutely disgusted by the sanitary conditions. I asked for help to find a couple of my staple items, plus a lip liner comparable to the one I was wearing at the moment (which was from another brand). The artist proceeded to suggest trying it on as I told her I did not need to. Then, as I was looking at the options on the rack, she swatched the back of my hand without sanitizing the liner. I have never been so appalled. This was 1.) without my permission. And 2. Was absolutely unprofessional. As a professional makeup artist myself, sanitation is a must. It's a tester! Germs are everywhere. Who knows what could be on that. I urge all customers to not be shy to ask to sanitize anything they are using on you. You never know, and it is your health. read more

I called in and the staff very nicely reserved each eyeshadow for me to pick up and test in store. When I was in to do some swatches, they sprayed and wiped everything with sanitizer before letting me try on my arm. It's nice to see them taking such precautions. read more

You have to be prepared that when you get your make up done here you WILL have a ton of make up on no matter what. Even though you may tell them you don't want it caked on it still somehow happens. The employees were very friendly and informative but I waited 30 minutes for my appointment to start and then since it is a store the make up artists are constantly going back and forth from you to the cash registers to help other customers. My suggestion is if you come here to do your face makeup before and just get your eyes done. Came for a wedding and my eyes looked beautiful but my face was WAY too much, I had to wipe some off when I came home. So I walked in today a little frustrated because I haven't been able to find a concealer with my specific skin type. I was a little disappointed that no one greater me at the door but no big deal. I started looking at a foundation and one of the employees walks up to me to see if I need help (can't remember her name but she had short orange hair). I started to explain to her my situation and my skin type and luckily her skin type was the same so she knew the best products. She told me to take a seat and they'll test them on me. SHE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND. She gets the best foundation that works so well with my skin. And explained the best way to apply it. When I asked her how she gets her makeup look, she explained it in full detail and got me everything she uses. She creates a palette for me that works so well together. I also let her know that I'm not eyeshadow savvy but like natural colors. She picked the perfect colors out ! Basically, I had a great experience there and when I went home to try my new products they were amazing. People were even asking me what I use. read more

WOW!!! Hadar was amazing!!! I have been to so many MAC locations before and no one has really ever asked me the questions Hadar did and gotten it right before. I've never had someone match my foundation right on the first try by just looking at me. And she knew exactly what colors to choose for me for eyeshadow, blush, and lips. I came for a complete makeup session for a wedding I was attending that day. Holly took care of me and she was amazing! She made sure I informed her of any skin conditions and my routine. Before she put on foundation, she prepped my skin so beautifully that I thought she had already incorporated foundation. Since I have rosacea, I was a little concerned of how my skin would react to the prepping products and makeup but of course I had nothing to worry about because I didn't suffer from any type of breakouts. I ended up buying almost everything she put on my face. Although Holly was amazing and I'd recommend her to anyone, the other girls were just as nice and amazing. The one Issue I have with MAC, and it's the same issue all the time , When I call to make an appointment whether it's a month in advancer two weeks in advance for some reason when I call to confirm they never have a recollection of my appointment which upsets me because whoever is taking my information down "supposedly"takes everything & writing it down and then when I call they say sorry we don't have you in the book! I love this location. The girls are very knowledgable about the products! It gets a little crazy in there on the weekends, so plan to spend a little time if you need lots of help. I'm not into make up but after my visit to this mac store, I want to be into make up just to keep being around the employees. I walked in and was greeted right away by Robert. He went completely above and beyond to make sure I was well taking care of. Let's not forget to mention, he completely slayed my face. Rumors say Mac is known for "cake' make up, but Robert's hands are magic. I can't thank him enough for making my complete day. He was great! First off I had 8 in a bag to give and ready to buy more . The representative who was helping me gave me a contour pack too light for my skin complexion. I went back today for an exchange and they couldn't me because I lost my receipt. I asked them how is it possible that in 2015 a name brand well stablished corporate store doesn't have the system to pull out a simple receipt? I mean it doesn't make sense to me that such a high company who spend so much money in advertisements and money to make the best products is so behind in technology? I had the date as well as the card that I used and the statement to prove the purchase.not even as a courtesy the manager was able to help me exchange the product. She was very rude and unhelpful. The only thing she did was constantly repeat the same information like I had a hearing problem and refer me to customer service. So I just called MAC Cosmetics Corporate (800)387-6707 option 8.. to file a complaint on their Willowbrook Mall store in Wayne NJ. It's twice that the store "creates my profile" and I come back and they "can't find my profile." Both times I waited so long to be helped with these products. But my problem is that last night, they had 0 clients at the store and the rude girl behind the counter didn't even offer to help me find the product I needed. I got advice from a good friend that it's their worst store ever! and that Willowbrook's Macy's MAC is better. So they're not all bad. I give this store .0001 star read more

I wore MAC makeup in my 20's and 30's, but with the advent of Sephora, I was steered in the direction of Lancôme. Was this a sign of the times? Never really satisfied, every time I went back to Sephora I was steered in a different direction. After a decade of mediocre here and there, my friend begged me to end my misery and just go back to MAC. She said age has nothing to do with it and told me to schedule a makeover session and ask for a face chart at the end which will list all the products and where on the face they go. Holly was my make up artist and artist is an understatement; she is amazing beyond belief. She listened to all my make up woes then went to work. I haven't looked this good since my 20's! Coincidence? I think not. Holly did something no one else has done in the past. She matched my foundation to my neck so you don't see that noticeable line between face and neck and while I looked stark at first, she explained she would warm the top of my face with bronzer. Who knew? Holly, obviously. She made me look fabulous, years younger, but not overdone. I continue to go back over and over to get more tips and tricks. Everyone there is amazingly helpful.
