Always a great experience when I shop here! The sales person always greets me immediately and offers assistance. Usually I like to browse stores on my own but when it comes to makeup, I like assistance to ensure I am picking out products, especially colors, that work with my skin tone. When it comes to makeup, I'm a creature of habit, wearing very little and what I do wear, it's the same colors consistently. I like a no makeup makeup look! So usually when I stop in MAC, I am there to restock my regulars. But sometimes I give in to their offer to give me a makeover or try a different shade of my norms. Such was the case this day. The makeup artist showed me an eyeshadow that had more yellow undertones than pink to use on my eyelid. As subtle as it seems, it really made my eyes pop! I thanked the makeup artist, bought my refills plus this new eyeshadow color, and was happily in my way. Oh, and she signed me up for the rewards program which gave me 10% off my purchase, even better. Even though I live close to other MAC locations, this shop is so easy to stop in when I'm at Bridgeport. Plenty of free parking and I can run other errands while I'm out that way. read more

What do you get when you cross Hello, Kitty with S&M? The current promotion at M.A.C. I was there for my annual glamazoning for a big party and could barely control my laughter. They hired a male model with skin tight low-rise leather pants, no shirt and a bobble-head Hello, Kitty mask to hand out balloons, temporary tattoos and generally cause a stir. It reminded me of the Sex and the City storyline with the talking sandwich board, "Eat me." I had a stool near the front so I got to see people's reactions as they walked up... priceless. Did I mention the store is right by the playground, so all these little girls and there mommies kept stopping by and having their photo taken with Mr. Kitty?!? The ladies here worked their magic once again and I got to be a different version of me for the night. But this time, there was makeup and a show. Thanks, M.A.C.! read more

I am new to the area and I have only been in to the MAC Cosmetics in Bridgeport Village 2 times. The 1st time I was helped by Brooklyn who helped me find colors that made me happy and freshened up my Zoom calls...the second time, today, I was helped by Tabitha, who looked at a screen shot of my holiday outfit colors, listened to my needs on color choices, and picked out a perfect pallette of shadows and a lip that makes me feel true to my personality and brightens up my look (and spirits) for the holidays. Can I just praise these two young women and MAC for their keen ability to attract the right talent? I've been on the hunt for the right foundation for years with no luck. I couldn't find the right shade, or the right undertone, and it always wound up cakey, making me break out, or sliding off my face by mid-morning. I went into MAC today because I knew they would listen to my exact needs and respond with products that work. I get up at 3 AM for work every day, and I need an easy, fast primer/foundation combo that I can do while half-asleep. Rachel was WONDERFUL, helping me pick the right products, showing me exactly how to apply them, and even drew me a diagram with easy-but-specific instructions on how to very quickly put on everything in the morning. She even gave me her contact info so I could message her with any questions. Seriously THEEEEE BEST customer service! I am totally in love with the way my made-up face looks right now. I cannot stand Bridgeport Village. It's just a bunch of overpriced commercial chain stores with crappy parking that's out of the way for any true Portlander to get to. However, there is at least one reason that I can think of to make my way over there once in a while: The M.A.C. store. Now, I know that you can get a lot of M.A.C. products at pretty much any Nordie's, but not even their counter can compete with a whole store of their cosmetics. Despite the fact that the store is rather small, simply by walking through the shiny glass doors, you'll be overwhelmed by an entire wall taken up with row after row of about a billion brightly colored containers of their signature eyeshadow. I feel like a kid in a candy shop. Every time I've been, the employees have been very attentive, and always willing to give me a color test, to find the correct color and line of makeups. What's more, if you allow them to take your information, they keep your purchase history in their computers, so when you need a refill on that studio fix, you won't have to remember the five-digit color code...you can go in, and be out in a sec without a color test! read more

This is the only MAC Cosmetics counter (store) that I will go to. These girls are not on commission so I feel that it's an easier place to shop with much less pressure. Every time I go in to this location I am treated like royalty. There's always someone to greet me, chat with me and basically be my 'shopping buddy.' I feel like I'm going to meet with friends when I go in to MAC at Bridgeport. Compared to Nordstrom at Washington Square, the MAC store always has time for me and is never 'too busy' to help. The Makeup Artists are always extremely friendly, professional and overall wonderful. You will never feel intimidated in any way at this store. Not high pressure. Just helpful. Wow, went to this Location (Mac counter) and I was shocked at how I was treated- I asked the lady to give me a sample of the Newest foundation to take with me...she seemed pissed off to begin with, it was 8:30ish-but anyways she didn't even communicate. I told her i used NC35 and she went and put NC40 in the container, I will not be shopping at this location, why would they let ladies like this work there? who knows. but they are losing $$$- Oh well thank Goodness for so many other Nordstrom Locations! girl has dreadlocks...working at such a nice Mall, EWW. she must of been JEALOUS. read more

Love Mac makeup so much that I'm an actual Mac Pro member because I use it for work. I feel like every time I come here, the associates are really rude and inattentive to their customers. There was one lady that was looking at makeup and this cashier named Kendall went around looking for product. I went up to her and asked if I could get one lip product and she said, "sure, give me a second." Well, those seconds turned into 12 minutes. She was also rude about it and had an underlying sassy tone to her when I asked her if I could get ONE PRODUCT. It is bad customer service like this that make me want to just buy online. I try not to let things like this effect the way I view a brand but damn Bridgeport Mac, you folks really need to reteach your girls good customer service. read more

I came in to this location the other day to pick up a few gifts for friends. I walked in and began looking around. I stood there by the lipstick display, waiting for help. No one greeted me, or offered to help. They did see me, as several of them made eye contact with me. There was one other person in the store besides myself, and there were at least 5 individuals working that day, and three of them were talking behind the register. So. Long story short, due to their complete lack of customer service, I will not be returning to this location. read more

I scheduled a makeup session and had a great experience. I was a bit apprehensive after reading the other reviews and feared I would get some snooty makeup artist who had a premadonna complex and looked like Tammy Faye Baker (oh-oh I think I'm dating myself with that reference). However, I had a great down-to-earth person (Carrie) who did a fantastic job while explaining the steps to me and answered all my questions. She did tell me about the products she was using but didn't push them too hard. If you're going to get makeup done, definitely request Carrie and you won't be disappointed. She made the experience fun and she seemed like the type of person who can get along with anyone. When I walked in the store I was greeted immediately. I can totally understand other reviewers who probably wouldn't get attention because they are just perusing the store. I think because I was paying $50 for the makeup application I was given a different level of service. read more

I've always had a great experience when shopping here at this MAC. I live closer to two other MAC counters and would prefer to make the drive to this one. The staff is always super friendly and helpful, but they also have more products that you can't get at Nordstrom or Macy's. read more

I love MAC cosmetics and use their products almost exclusively. The selection is awesome and the staff are really helpful. If you want super personal attention, make an appointment. They have saved me in a pinch once or twice (namely when I got too dark of a spay tan and stopped in for new foundation on my way to the airport). I'm a rather casual person, so it can be a bit intimidating in here, but I have been using the same handful of products with great results. read more

I crawl out of my village and happily take a mini road trip to this place. MAC is always a nice treat. There is a reason why so many people love it. Best eye shadows and pigments that last! I have always been intrigued by makeup and looking feminine. I love being a girl!!! I went in to the store to shop for my birthday present from my husband. I initially went in looking for just a foundation match. Pauline came over to help me with this and I have to say that she ROCKS! After she found the perfect color and put it on my whole face she then proceeded to chat me up about what "look" I go for. Well lets just say that when I walked out I was turning heads. Not only did Pauline find me foundation and some new shadows but she also took the time to teach me a bunch of techniques. I am now a winged liner master. Pauline also did my hair in a SUPER CUTE pin up style; hair flower included! Subsequently every-time I go back Pauline remembers me and gives the same great service to me and all my ladies that I bring in. read more

This was my first time at a MAC store (which I told both people who helped me) so I was really excited to "get sold" on some new products that I didn't know about, and get generally introduced on a personal level to a store that is legendary for the devotion of its clientele. I'd gotten by stealing my former roommate's eyeshadow for the year we lived together, but a few months ago I tried her fluidline eyeliner when I was over at her new place and have been coveting it ever since. So I made the trip to Bridgeport. I am trying to not feel so disappointed, but all of the things my friends have said about their MAC experiences did not happen for me. Even though it was a quiet weekday with three associates and only one other customer, there was no mention of a makeup tutorial/application, except when I was checking out, that I could make an appointment. Ok, par. I came in barefaced and with the afternoon free in hopes that the opportunity could present itself. I wouldn't have considered that a fail except for the combination with all the other elements. The store seemed dirty and and sort of in disarray, with boxes open and around, drawers out, makeup dust and fingerprints on everything. I know that samples are samples, but they seemed worn down and dirty. Like another reviewer, I had money in my pocket to spend on the right products. When I finally did get an associate to talk to me and I got her to make a recommendation to me (this seemed like an awful lot of work on my part, considering) I bought what she recommended after a sentence or two. I believe in the MAC product line, although I know not everything will be right for me, which is why I need the expert guidance. I'll be buying MAC in the future, but it won't be from this store. I could have done what I did today online and had a much better experience. read more

Okay being a red head I love Mac....... Before they were popular they were the only ones that made make up for us....... well redheads and drag queens lol. As a teenager it was the only makeup I did not have to add white theater paint to to make lighter..... The eye shadows are of excellent quality and last quite a long time. they have a recycle program where you bring in a certain amount of empty lipstick tubes or eye shadow pots.... (I think it is 6 but you will want to check) and you get a free lipstick or eye shadow. The brushes are more expensive than you would hope....but are of excellent quality and if you take care of them they will last practically forever. I have one or two brushes I have had since I was a teen and (that was like 20 years ago) they still look and feel great. For eyes they have lots of styles of eye shadow to choose from and even more colors than you could want.... yes the little pots of eyeshadow are like 15 bucks......... but quality people..... quality!!! It last a long time.... and has great staying power on your lids. Now ..... for the staff..... it really is hit or miss with these people.... sometimes I get really helpful people sometimes I get those staff that look down at you and look like they would rather be in a snooty fashion show than deal with the likes of the unwashed masses...... but more times than not it is the helpful people. I go in knowing what I want and almost always end up buying something I have just discovered. At least come in check it out..... buy one eye shadow that you will use a lot ....it will convert you!!! I promise. oh and if you get the sales people that look at you like the unwashed masses....come back another day....give it a second chance..... I swear it will be worth it read more

This is a very unpopular opinion, but I hate MAC. It's too damn thick. There's a reason why drag queens sell it, because it looks good on them. It looks caked on and dirty-ish on females, not to mention you look about 8 years older. And the colors are WEIRD. It's like they took paint sample cards from Ace Hardware and based their colors directly on that with some frost thrown in. And women buy and wear it just because it's MAC, and MAC is in, and it looks like butt on them and they think they look cutting-edge. Their lipglass is a really good way to catch gnats and end up with your hair glued to your face. There's a term for girls with too much makeup on, called wearing a MAC Forcefield. Girls, don't let this be you. MAC is not the be-all-end-all, makeup wise, contrary to what some of you think. A fresher look is always better. No guy likes a Caker. read more

I have only been shopping at this location for a short while and have been face palming my forehead asking myself WHY since my first trip in. So after frequent trips to Mac and after receiving wonderful service from Curtis each time (yes I do call and see if he is working. And will plan trips there based on his schedule), I decided to schedule a 1 on 1 lesson in the private room. Curtis greeted me with a smile and even a hug and quickly put me at ease and calmed my nerves. After asking me some questions he pulled some products and set out to make me look better than I ever have. Both his knowledge and skill are top notch. His grasp of color and shading is right up there with most of the artists you would see in the Louvre and God. Curtis treated me with kindness and respect. Because of his service and for the fact he treated me and made me look like a Goddess, Mac (and Curtis) have made me a life long loyal customer. Mac you have done an exceptional job at training your associates. I sincerely hope you extend my heart felt gratitude to Curtis for how he made me feel that day. My husband even commented that I looked wonderful and seemed happier than usual. I also hope that he is rewarded for representing Mac in a way that you would be proud of. I'm a total MAC-addict. I love MAC, almost everything I wear is MAC. Issue here is, this store is lacking in organization. You either have a tremendously productive experience, or you leave pissed off and empty handed. The last time I went in, I was ignored until someone told me to stand in the checkout line and then they'll help you- maybe they need a number system, like the DMV. The time before that I had just walked in shopped the shelved and drawers myself, and then bought it. Other times I've been waited on, but I'd rather shop on my own. I would say, that I'm a fan because of the product and my O.K. experience with the staff. Honestly if you don't like the store's vibe, dont buy the product, or shop online... it doesnt take much to qualify for free shipping. read more

She wasn't like a normal makeup sales person trying to get you to buy everything which was really refreshing. She tested products on our face before we bought them and made sure all of our face makeup was true to our skin! She even gave us free samples and was so so friendly! read more

I was told that this store keeps track of everything for me. Only to find out they keep your colors on file but you must have a reciept in order to exchange or return a product. Hearing such poor customer service reviews I thought I'd put in my two cents. I went in at a somewhat busy time of day for Bridgeport mall and was greeted right away. The woman was pleasant and not fake or overbearing. She took me to the new mineralize lipsticks, also showed me the concealer. I then told her I was just browsing, expecting her kindness to lose it's luster at the proposition of no spending, and she was perfectly nice about it. She allowed me to roam the store and not feel guilty for window shopping. That's what a makeup store should be all about! read more

What happened to the Old Mac Customer service. Went into Bridgeport store after a few years... been going to Sephora because of the great customer service and my daughter was interested in lipstick. Hard to get anyone to help and it was not busy. When they did ask if they needed help they asked me and not my daughter who btw is 19 years old. She wanted to try on lipstick and they have a terrible stick that "attempts" to apply the lipstick and it just doesn't work. There is no place to put the trash after you try on and the sale person left after giving a sample and didn't check back in until I was about ready to leave and go to sephora at the mall. It's too bad the service is so bad now. We will NOT be shopping at MAC anymore. Main reason is the terrible lack of customer service. read more

Not from this area but have been to this MAC twice and have had great service each time. I was quickly greeted, which is a rarity in MAC stores, and the girl was extremely friendly and quick with assisting me. She helped me sift through almost 20 eyeshadows I had written down and then helped me figure out which ones were best for me. The second time I went, she did the same thing but with blushes and foundation. Overall, great experience here, better than the one in Portland. read more

I had a rough time finding a make-up artist to do my day-of for my wedding; three trials were a no-go before finding Emy! I would recommend her to anyone! My visit to Mac was pleasant. The lady who assisted me did an awesome job matching my skintone with their Studio Fix powder and recommending primer which helped complete a overall even-toned, luminous look. I didn't get pressured to buy more than I wanted and I liked the fact that they store your cosmetic information in their system for the next time you visit. All in all a good experience. read more

I really love this location, not only because they have a larger collection of cosmetics, but because they have an amazing friendly and knowledgeable staff as well. They just let me play with their stuff without bugging me or being pushy, and they always thank me (for taking the time to look around) :-) The store always looks organized, I had the pleasure of working with a lady who knew every answer to every question asked and without hesitation. They have the best body foundation ever, you can apply it on legs and arms and it makes you look tan but in a very natural way and it does not smudge off, it stays on and I think is water proof, and this lady helped me to find the perfect shade and color for my skin. It was also busy and crowded in the store with multiple customers that were helped, but I never felt pushed on the side while she was also trying to help another regular client. I look forward to going back. Parking is not so good though, very limited, you have to drive around and around for sometimes, even half hour before you can find a spot read more

The customer service at this particular Mac store is shameful, and embarrassing. I use to work at Mac for years at the Dallas pro store so I was shocked to see the way I was treated when I went in with my sister and daughter to redeem my empty Mac containers for my free lipstick. I came in with a shoebox full of empty used products and the sales people seeing that assumed I wasn't going to buy anything then proceeded to ignore us or be of any help. I don't usually write reviews but HAD to after this experience and HAD to get the name of one particular employee "Christian", who actually sighed and rolled his eyes while checking out my back to Mac transaction. He is a horrible face of the Mac company and should be fired for how he treats customers. read more
