I really appreciated the smooth communication all the way through - they were so kind and patient with all my questions and concerns. Anny and Andy are both very talented and precise. They have ALL the skills and dedication to make you look and feel beautiful. I was looking for a really natural makeup look, and an updo with lots of texture. I was definitely nervous about the makeup piece since I basically don't wear much more than mascara, but Anny nailed it - I felt weightless and beautiful and most of all like MYSELF the entire day. My hair was a work of art as well - I hope Andy is proud of what he created because I LOVED it. I have to also mention that the two of them have a great dynamic - they work very smoothly together and definitely made me feel at ease, and when my wedding day arrived they were just the calming presence I needed. Could not have wished for more.

I don't own or wear make-up, so for events, I have to go get it done. Oh, and I've had it DONE! Even with the compliments, I hated it because I didn't look like myself. It felt foreign and I would often feel quite uncomfortable. For my elopement ceremony last summer, I wanted to look like myself, except with better skin. I wanted to be comfortable with myself. Anny's portfolio was appealing to me, because it had a variety of looks, including the "natural look", the one I wanted. We had a super intimate ceremony over brunch. The venue was great, but didn't give us a lot of extra time to prepare. Anny and Andy came through! With Anny on make-up and Andy on hair, they made my mother and I feel beautiful and natural, and they did it in record time. I was comfortable the entire day. And yes, I felt pretty on my wedding day.

This is a long overdue review. Meaganne did my hair/makeup for both my engagement shots and my…read morewedding a few years back. She did an amazing job. I loved her philosophy - which is to make her clients look like the best version of themselves, as opposed to caking on makeup in a way a bride would probably regret - and thought she executed it perfectly. I felt beautiful on my wedding day, and thought my makeup looked 100 in the wedding photos. Equally important, she made me feel totally at ease both times we worked together, was very open to feedback, and was just plain fun to hang out with. For brides who aren't getting married in SF proper, Meaganne is willing to travel, which was super helpful. My wedding was in Los Gatos, and Meaganne didn't bat an eye making the hour+ drive, and navigating her way to our off-the-beaten-path venue. I think she may charge a small fee if she needs to travel more than a certain number of miles, but it was nominal and on par with what other makeup artists charge. I highly recommend Meaganne for your hair and makeup needs!

I had trial sessions with a couple other professionals in San Francisco, but once I met with Meaganne, I was hooked. I'm pretty picky about makeup - I don't wear foundation and HATE the feeling of having something caked on. But Meaganne knew exactly what to do to make me feel natural, confident, and ready to get married! She makes you feel and look like yourself and not some made up version of a typical bride. When I found out she also did hair, I gave her a try and loved every style she tested on me...it was honestly hard to choose! I received so many compliments on my hair and makeup, and have since given her name to several people. Her prices are incredibly reasonable (far cheaper than the other trials I had), especially considering her level of talent. Not only is Meaganne incredibly talented, but she's a wonderful person to work with. She's kind, patient, and just an all around genuine, amazing person. You end up spending the majority of your wedding day with your hair and makeup person, so I feel it's important to share a good connection. I definitely felt that connection with Meaganne.

I was going to travel back home to Chicago to get them done where my mom and sister had went when I was informed that JEIN was their artist's trainer. So, of course I decided to get them done by the teacher herself. Jein was very patient and accommodating while sketching out the outline of my new brows and the entire process was painless. I didn't have any flaking or peeling like some people do so the worst I had to deal with in the healing process was having dark shiny eyebrows for a few days. I just got them re-done this fall and had the same great experience that I did before. Jein makes you feel so at-ease and the appointment flies by as you chat and she works her magic. I HIGHLY recommend Jein for anyone interested in semi-permanent tattoo work.

So awesome the customer tells the "artist" and they BLAME THEM. She used a phone app to figure out my brow shape and outline... that's not how it's done. I went home and tried to peel the pigments out. Once after I healed and waited months on a list to see a reputable girl in Vancouver WA to flush the pigments and also had to wait for them to fade. That was 1800 for four sessions. I then went without corrected brows for two years and paid 1200 again. And I will tell you both girls tell me they always have to correct her work and I am not the first person to see them for corrections. So if you want terrible brows she's the one to see , if you need them corrected message me I know where to go get them fixed. When I first saw Martha, she did a consultation to examine my face and to work out the best look for me. She involved me in that process so I immediately felt her dedication to make me very happy with the result. She does the same for every new client, which shows a very high degree of professionalism and her true care for the new clients - Martha always does everything to make sure only the best results are achieved. While applying extensions, Martha is very careful and very thorough. She literally goes lash by lash, it's amazing. She cares about hygiene, which is very important to me. Her salon is very cozy and clean, and she keeps a little snack for those of us who never have enough time. There have been times when I texted Martha with questions and she aways got back to me within short amount of time. She does a great job on accommodating my busy schedule. I would not go see another lash artist, there is not a better one than Martha around here. Her work product is beautiful, and her personality is very caring and fun, while professional at the same time. P.S. I get harassed daily with questions about my lashes. Anywhere I go, women want to know if the lashes are really mine (they look that natural) and if not, WHO DOES THEM? Thank you Martha, you are an amazing talent!!! Lucky to have you here in PDX.
