She offered some great suggestions on what I could do with my short hairstyle and which accessories to choose. She was punctual and arrived early to our hotel for our appointment. Rossie asked about my normal skin complexion so it would look its best. She completed my hair and makeup totally within the time we had scheduled. She is very friendly and pleasant to work with. I was very happy with how I looked- makeup was not heavy at all and great color choices for my skin tone and features. Her makeup products are very high quality... I started makeup at 7:30 am. By 9pm, after the entire wedding, nap and dinner, my makeup hadn't even smudged! My skin has a tendency to get dry within a few hours of being under makeup, but even at the end of the day, it still looked very fresh. While I could have booked Nicole for my wedding hair and makeup, she was unfortunately way too expensive for my wedding budget. However, I had two big priorities when it came to wedding planning: I needed an amazing photographer (CHECK!!), and I needed a really amazing makeup artist. Nicole suggested I go with her contractor Lindsey, and not to downplay AT ALL the work that Lindsey does, but she was much more affordable. The contract and payment process was a bit muddy, and I could have used just a bit more responsiveness, but overall, I couldn't be happier with the end product. Lindsey was an absolute joy to work with. During the trial, she really listened to what I wanted (erase that triple chin, girl, and make my eyes big!!!), and was able to create a look that complemented not only my dress, but the entire style of the wedding. When choosing a HMUA, my big goals were to (a) look amazing, and (b) still look like myself. I look at my wedding photos and know that I look like a really great version of my current self. She also made my sister and my mother look absolutely stunning. She was certainly worth the price, and I'd go with her again in a heartbeat. I was also not happy with the color and was scheduled two weeks out to fix something I didn't like. I couldn't wait that long and ended up seeing someone else that could at least do a color correction within days apart and she was so sweet and kind. Unfortunately due to the experience I had with the other hair stylist, I will not be returning....I had grown out my hair for two years and had not seen a stylist because my hair is long and have a hard time trusting stylist to work with my hair. Now, it's going to take so long to grow my hair back to the length where it was at and im so heartbroken that I'm considering getting extensions because I can't get over it. Im also doing my hair all over again as soon as I can save some money.... and overall there goes ways over $500 for something I am so unhappy with. I went across the salon to another business for food, and to my surprise the person working shared with me she had the exact same experience with her hair and it was cut so short she also cried over it and showed me photos, and her hair was way longer. Im not one to post ratings for services but this has been by far one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The stylist took no accountability and refused to send me the before and after photos from the back claiming that she couldn't send them to me because they were blurry. Just save your money and go somewhere else.

The touch up kit made it easy for me to fix my lip color in between photos. For my hair, Shawna did an amazing updo that I never would have been able to do myself! I gave her some creative freedom with the hairstyle and was so happy with the result. An updo is not easy with my hair because it's very thick and heavy, but somehow it stayed in place all night through lots of hugs and dancing. The lash extensions were done a couple days prior to the wedding. She had a few different options ranging from natural-looking to more dramatic. I loved that I didn't worry about sweating or crying off mascara or strip lashes during my wedding, and they looked beautiful! I was a lash newbie but Shawna gave me easy instructions on how to care for them. The process does take a couple hours if you're getting a full set, but it's absolutely worth it.
