I would schedule for a 1 mL syringe, but they never seemed to have it. Last year was my first time getting filler, so I took her word for it and accepted the product she had available--which I later realized were leftovers. Today, I called before my appointment and was told it would be $1,000 for 1 mL, or $550 for a 0.5 mL. I asked for the 1 mL. When I arrived, they suddenly didn't have it in stock. She then "talked to the doctor" and offered me "more than a half" for $500. While getting a half-syringe treatment is common, it is completely against medical protocol for a reputable practice to save a syringe for a different client. These are single-use devices intended for one patient only. Even if the filler is split prior to injection, it sits opened and unsterile. Any "workaround" for blood-borne pathogens still exposes patients to severe biofilm and bacterial infection risks. Pushing patients into a "deal" to pawn off opened, leftover product is unethical and constitutes malpractice. See the attached picture of an insulin syringe back-loaded with filler from a previously opened box--she explicitly stated this was drawn up for a prior client. This is incredibly dangerous, and I am actively reporting this provider to the state medical and nursing boards. Avoid at all costs!
