But it's also for the eyebrow threading empire that is Eastland Center. There are no fewer than three separate eyebrow threading places in this mall. Two are in kisoks, and the third is a full-fledged salon (hidden in the least traveled corridor in the mall, but super convenient in terms of quick escape routes, which will be discussed in more detail in a few seconds...) For all I know, Eastland Mall might be to eyebrow threading what NYC's Little Italy used to be to restaurants: lots of different storefronts, but only one kitchen. Or these places might actually be real competitors, which would explain the crazy emphasis they place on giving out loyalty cards. Either way, all three get the job done really well and at a good price--- standard eyebrow threading is $8 across the board. I generally pick which one to go to on any given trip by quickly cruising through and determining which has no wait list. If I happen to go on a Saturday evening, I choose the salon, because Eastland Center can be a little...exciting...on the weekends, and that one is closest to the mall exit and it's the most private. From what I've seen, none of these places has a public phone number, and they don't take appointments. But they do take credit cards. And tips are appreciated.

I was very happy to be able to book on NYE just in time to be refreshed for the new year. I booked grey coverage + bang trim. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Melissa who was coloring another client's hair and shortly after, I met Jeph, the owner. Jeph asked me a bit about myself and what I needed done. He totally understood that I wasn't in a (financial) place for a full retouch of my highlights and in fact said that I probably could go a little longer without a full touchup and haircut which I really appreciated! What I loved about the salon was that we had easy-going conversation for a bit and then Jeph let me chill out a bit to surf on my phone -- love the ease of appointments like this. Melissa gave me the shampoo of my dreams with an amazing mini scalp massage. She then went on to blow dry me and gave me beach curls and Jeph dusted off my bangs for a refreshed look. I thought the duo tag-teamed my services well and made sure there weren't any unnecessary delays. Getting my greys colored really brightened my whole look! I had a good experience with her straightening my hair before so I went back. I thought she was a good person who just messed up until instead of owning her mistake, she tried to lie, cheat and gaslight her way out of it. Instead of doing a good job on my hair she edited a photo to make it look like she did as an excuse not to refund me any money. If she would have told me I can't do what you want but I can give you regular highlights, I would have said no thank you and left. I NEVER expected her to fabricate a photo to skirt culpability. She sold her integrity for $365 and revealed herself to be an untrustworthy person with weak character and morals. The owner is going to comment about how the lighting in the salon made my hair look like that but Irene, you need to stop gaslighting me. I was in your salon under the same lighting that the (edited) photo was taken in and my hair looked nothing like it. Otherwise I would have left happy and been upset later. And that's not what happened is it? Stop gaslighting me. But if you're sticking to that then who wants to go to a salon that makes their hair look COMPLETELY different from what you went there for as soon as you walk outside? This all could have been solved so easily if Melissa said I'm so sorry, I misunderstood what you wanted and did something completely different--instead of doubling down on her lies and getting the owner to co-sign them. A little accountability from two adult women is not too much to ask for. Edit: Irene, you did not offer to fix my hair for free, you offered to re-tone it. Toner will not make my hair lighter and you know that. Also, Irene, you took the photo of my hair outside. How are you going to say it's just the lighting? I contacted Irene and said I would take my reviews down--all she has to do is retake the photo in the salon lighting and show me that I'm wrong. That the photo isn't edited. Instead of taking two seconds to do that, she blocked me. Looks like accountability is not in the cards for her.
