Omg Soua Khang is amazing!!! () I went in today with a friend to get my makeup done, not exactly sure what I wanted. Soua spent over two hours trying out different looks and made it such an upbeat and fun experience!!! As soon as I arrived she greeted me by name and was super sweet, even though she had to stop at some points to help other customers, she never got frazzled or made it seem like she was annoyed. The whole time she was more than willing to explain what she was doing and why and had the patience to let me try doing some stuff to get a feel for it. After I was done with my makeup, I mentioned another lipstick I was thinking of getting and instead of just picking the closest shade, she took into consideration my skin type verse the person in the picture and made sure I was happy with it. My boyfriend and I walked inside to see if they had some lipsticks that I needed and Paulina was super friendly and quick to help me out . I like the makeup here at the Mac counter, but 2 girls here, Mel and Paulina, need to take a class on customer service.... Let me flash back real quick to 2 weeks ago.... My friend and I went into Macy's, to the Mac counter so she could get her foundation matched. Mel SEEMED happy to help. She WAS nice. She matched my friend to the foundation she liked...it did take a little while, but she wanted what she bought to be perfect for her. We spend over $140 and went on our way. Boy, was her nice and sweet attitude a BIG FAT FAKE. We went back to get a different foundation bc my friend didn't like the way it made her look. Things look different when you get into the sun. She felt pale. So into Macy's, to the Mac counter we went. We meet Paulina (ugh.) My friend told her she wanted to be color matched again and told her why. As she grabbed a few bottles, I noticed the girl from the last time we were there. Mel. She didn't look happy. She actually liked pretty pissed off. I ignored the way she looked, thinking maybe I was reading her wrong. So I asked her how she was. She replied with almost off. I said, well, that will be nice.... or something to those words. She didremember usfrom thelast timewe werethere....I commented on her eye makeup and she mentioned it was a palette "over there." She did show me, but then another male co worker walked up and distracted her. I continued to look at it noticing there were 2 different palettes. A few min later, I asked which one she was wearing. She told me, then ignored me the rest of the time, helping other customers as they came in, or talkingwith her co worker. Whatever. Back to my friend, yes, we were having trouble finding something she liked. She didn't want to look pale, but didn't want a completely wrong color that would've been too dark....I can see the frustration on Paulina's face as my friend wiped off the makeup to try yet another. Maybe 3 or 4 times :-/ Honey, let me remind your that is your job to show someone the makeup counter. It's your job to show everything on those counters. From creams to colors. Isn't that what you are getting paid for? Finally my friend decided on something she liked! She did ask for a pore minimizer, so she could get the full effect... it looked amazing. She then asked, "Do you think you could put on some concealer? And some color on my cheeks so I don't look dead?" Paulina said yes, stormed off.... as she stormed off, I watched her shaking her head, roll her eyes, and walk into that little back room. A few moment later, she came out with NOTHING and asked my friend, "What did you want?" She obviously went to the backroom, with Mel, to complain. She put the stuff on.... I think... and gave my friend a sample and took off to that room again. My friend and I decided she should just buy the foundation, so we looked around and Paulina was no where to be found. I did see Mel stick her head out and as soon as she saw we were still there, she went back to the room. I asked my friend wtf, then told the guy who was working the counter we wanted to get this color. Mel came out. She finished the purchase and we left. Not so fast.... when we left, we talked about how rude they were. I was so disgusted with the way they treated my friend, I sat at that damn fountain, took a few moments to think about how I was going to handle this. I told her to wait for me at the fountain. I went in, asked the guy at the counter where the girls were. He said on break. So, as I started telling him how unprofessional these girl were, Paulina pops out of that little room. I asked her why she took off. She said she went on break. I told her, next time, let your customers know you're going. As far as we knew, you were avoiding my friend. She said that as soon as she gave a sample, she thought we were done. We never even walked out. Never said bye, have a good night.... what made you think we were leaving? Looking at the male coworker, I told them both, "Not to be rude, between you having the look of frustration and Mel with a B*/$# look on her face, you were both so unprofessional!" We came in to buy makeup, and bc it took too long, you took off. If your going on break, you should tell the customers you're helping. There was more said, but I won't totally and utterly embarrass Mac or Macy's. Their actions have really disappointed me in the way they take care of their customers. I did call yesterday 3/19/2015 to speak with a store manager. They have yet to call me back. read more

I came in today to pick up a lipstick I had been eyeing for a while. There was a power outage but I NEEDED that lipstick so I proceeded to the counter. I wasn't sure if they would be able to sell anything but right away I was approached by the friendliest person I have ever seen in MAC. I told her I was in the market for lipstick and right away she recommended a shade, completely ignoring the fact the power was out. I picked out the one I was interested in as well. She took me to the front of the store so I could see the shades in a better light. I immediately fell in love with the one I picked out prior to coming. She was totally cool with that and wasn't pushy. I remembered that I needed new blush and she recommended a few shades that would work with my extreme paleness. We decided together what one worked best. I have never been so happy at a MAC store/counter before. I got what I needed with nothing I would regret buying later on. She was more concerned with my needs than up selling me. She gave me her card and wrote the name of the other shade of lipstick I tried on. Went to the mall with a friend a few weeks ago and we stopped in to schedule a make up appointment, when we got to the counter the sales woman was on the phone. Wouldn't have bothered me a bit had she maybe acknowledged that we were there, but no, instead she just looked at us and then turned her back to finish her 5 minute convo with who at first I thought had to do with work but when she went to hang up she said "ok, bye love!" After all that she finally addressed us, but not without attitude, leaving us to feel that we were interrupting her personal conversation on company time. Can you say vapid RUDE biatch!! So annoying. "Oh, I'm sorry I'm asking you to do your job." P.s. Her make up looked horrible, I wouldn't have wanted her to do my make up if she showed up to my appointment like that. I confess. I'm a total Makeup Addict, and MAC is my crack. No joke. There's only two MAC locations that I trust the most: The freestanding one in Roseville (which I'll get to in a seperate review), and the one in Sunrise Mall at Macy's. I was shopping in the second floor there a couple months ago, and I saw two of their Makeup Artist's doing free makeovers to promote their Holiday Collection, and I got a little jealous, so I bravely sucked up and inquired if I could get prettied up as well. One of the girls who helped me, Susanna, was SUPER nice and made me look SMOKIN' HOT. Ok, so I got suckered into buying a few things (like what good sales people do), but since then I never turned back! I even had her do my makeup for the Lady Gaga concert, and it turned out great! I got my signature lipstick there with Susanna's help showing me how to pull it off (FYI it's called Rebel-Gorgeous color BTW), and I remember the Male Makeup Artist saying out loud when I was paying, "Girl, your lips are Juicy Couture!! FERROSH!" I had a good laugh when he said that, but since then I get nothing but compliments everytime I use it! Best MAC store I've ever visited! Wandered into this mall in Citrus Heights on a Thursday night, and it looked empty. The MAC store inside Macy's had one customer, and the one employee was helping her. Yet, she took the time to acknowledge me and tell me she would be with me in a few minutes. FIne, just fine. Let me browse the lippies. True to her word, a few short moments later, the lady started helping me. I'm sad I didn't get her name! I asked her for a lipstick that that store sadly didn't carry. BUT she helped me find a shade that was close, with the finish that I wanted. I am still so happy with my purchase. I went to MAC yesterday to get my makeup done for a photoshoot. They did such an amazing job! I know that MAC has this reputation of having bad customer service, but the employees could not have been friendlier or more helpful! I was helped within minutes of setting foot in the store. Amazing experience with Honey who did my wedding makeup in Sept 2018. I scheduled an appointment about a week out a little panicked that I might not get someone and she squeezed me in 30 mins earlier than the time they take customers so we could be finished in time (because she has to split her time between helping customers shopping make up and doing my make up, it's not a dedicated appointment slot to just me). I showed her a few examples and she absolutely nailed it, colors were perfect for my wedding scheme. She is the most warm and genuine person I have ever worked with in retail, she makes you feel like a friend/a special guest in the store. There is no other budget friendly package out there, I can get a full coverage make up done and take $60 of product home, that is an AMAZING deal!!! Almost no where else can you get that unless you have a professional make up artist friend of course . I would come here for any future special make up needs and would recommend any lady to book with Honey for special event/wedding make up! I love the irony of our shopping needs these days. In the stores where you need absolutely no help and tell the workers there "no thanks I'm just browsing today" (several times), you'd like to assume you'd be left alone to browse. But alas when you actually need help, there's none to be found. This was the case with our last escapade to MAC. We were just looking at lipsticks and had the two people working there come over several times to see if we had questions. Each time we answered politely (surprisingly) but they sulked off. I am so not joking when I say sulked. Then whispered to each other. When my sister finally decided on the lipstick she wanted, we walked up to the checkout and asked for assistance. They waited a good 30 seconds before looking up from their phone to acknowledge me standing there and said, "I'll be over shortly." Shortly by the way means at minimum 5 minutes. We showed him the shade we wanted in matte and guess freakin' what? Yep, SOLD OUT. Of course it was. I'm tellin ya guys, IRONY! We ended up writing down the name of the shade and told them we would order it online. read more

She also encourages you to try new things and being someone that's not super into all the latest makeup trends she really helps you yo step out your comfort zone but still maintaining your own look and aesthetic. I was so happy with the serviced I receive that I even brought in my mom and she bought stuff too. This location is great because it's less busy than other locations so you really feel like you're being taken care of. Even with multiple customers Lisa always makes you feel like a priority. Im very disappointed in the experience I had at this MAC Counter. I have always purchased my cosmetics from this location and always had such a great experience. Today was very different! The young lady that was helping me color match she was in the middle of helping me with half of my face stark white and the other side matched pretty well. I wanted the N5 which matched me perfect. She said she couldnt find it and that they must have been out. So she looked it up and they had 17 in stock. She told me she would be just a minute while she searched for it. Next thing i know im sitting there for 10min while she helped 3 other customers, checked them out and just left me sitting there. She is a gem my sister found years ago at the M.A.C. Counter at Nordstroms. You can find her at the M.A.C. Counter @ Macy's, Sunrise Mall. She understands how to enhance features and bring out your best. She did five of us for my niece's high school graduation today and she nailed it from the 16 year old to the almost 50 me. We are all tough critics and she thrilled us all. Not easy odds. She has set the bar sky high. I will fly in for her talent, but if you are lucky and live close go see her. So far every product they have recommended has been amazing and every time I go there I get amazing assistance and wonderfully helpful makeup tips. It may be a small lay out but they have never been out of a staple product.
