On 04/15/2026, I placed the highest bid on a FitVids Home Gym listed as "Like New." When I checked the listing again on 04/16/2026, the condition had been changed to "Partial," which is a significant difference for this type of equipment. I contacted the North Las Vegas location immediately and requested that my bid be removed due to this material change. I was told that I must have been mistaken and was advised to purchase buyer's assurance instead and return the item if needed. I was also told a supervisor would follow up with me, but I never received a call. For a home gym system, "partial" can mean missing essential components, making it unusable. This is not the same condition as "like new," and I would not have placed a bid under those terms. I've used several auction sites before, but Mac Bid was a completely different experience unfortunately, not in a good way. Unlike Nellis Auction, where customer service and organization make the process smooth, Mac Bid feels like a gamble in more ways than one. First, if you don't pick up your items within their strict timeframe, they'll simply keep your money and (I assume) resell your items. There's no flexibility, and if you need extra time, you have to pay a monthly storage fee. I paid for two months because I got busy, which is on me, but even after spending around $200, they ended up keeping almost all of my items and I only picked up 3 things before they essentially took the remainder of my items and my money. When I reached out to customer service, I was met with a cold "that's the policy" response , no attempt to help or make it right. On top of that, picking up items is a real pain. Unlike Nellis Auction, where they bring your items out and even guide you into a parking spot, Mac Bid requires you to dig through a warehouse full of dirty boxes, searching for your purchases. It's frustrating, time consuming, and not worth the headache. I get that rules are rules, but a little customer service and flexibility go a long way. Unfortunately, Mac Bid didn't deliver on either. Once you know how simple it is to bid, there's lots of deals to be had. There's times where more people could be interested in the same item but you still get a deal in those moments. Byer beware. If you poke around enough you will see former and current workers talk about their business practices. They Don't care if the item you get all the part or works they workers photograph items to make them look great and attach links to something that may or may not be your item. There are returned items and they do not inspect to make sure you are getting all of the parts or if your item is not inworking order. From comments found multiple places online it is common to get items that are not usable. We bid on a fan and brought it home to find out that multiple parts were misssing. Be careful if you bid as the fees that are added often make the item higher that its worth and their suggested retail price is usually hyper inflated. read more

The good - you can acquire a lot of really good stuff for a fraction of the cost. The bad - you should buy the insurance every time, and open your boxes before leaving to check your goods. Here's why ? 1) I bought three Christmas trees stands with wheels, which came in very large, heavy manufacturers boxes. When I opened them it wasn't even close to what I bought. Only one was insured and they reluctantly did me a favor by returning only one. Receipts attached. 2) I bought a frame with a bible verse on it, it too came in a large box, there was a picture of the frame in the box but when I brought it home it was full of smaller empty boxes and packaging- basically trash and their argument is I left the warehouse so no refund. My product wasn't in the box!!!! 3) I've bought two office chairs and a bar stool - all were missing the key nuts and bolts to put it together. Home Depot does carry furniture bolts so it wasn't perfect but I managed. 4) Watch the fees. It adds up quickly. 5) most of the products are damaged in one way or another - bird feeder bent; easy up canopy with a broken frame; brass plaque that was resin and broken; bed pillows unwrapped; Christmas tree with bad lights/no tree stand; and the biggest is the product you've purchased isn't what's in the box!!!! Bottom line- in many cases I wouldn't have bought much of this stuff and you're better off paying full price so you can return it if it's broken, damaged, missing pieces or you don't like it. I heard about mac.bid from a friend so I thought I'd check it out. There were some interesting items that peaked my interested. I actually lost out on my bids for those. But I quickly found some lower priced items that I also thought I'd take a chance on. Item #1 - an Amazon Basics single serve coffee maker. I won the bid at $6. Plus $3 for the auction fee. Plus tax. I waived the $7 buyers assurance fee. That may have been a mistake. The item was listed as "open box" which was an accurate assessment based on appearances. When I actually took the item out of the box, it appeared to be brand new. The tape was still on all the loose bits just as it would be coming from factory. I thought this was a good sign. However, when I actually tried to use it, the damn thing doesn't work right. Regardless of what ounce I select (6, 8, 10, 12, or 14) and whether I choose pod or grounds, I am lucky to get maybe 4 or 5 ounces out. Sure, it heats up fast. And it is very VERY hot. But that doesn't do much good when it "fills" a standard coffee cup only half way at best. Worst of all, I can't even return it because I didn't buy the insurance. Now I am left with a roughly $10 paper weight. FYI, I picked up this item in North Las Vegas. Item #2 - a Waring hand held immersion blender. This one I picked up in Henderson. Other than being closer for me the process and experience was the same. Anyhow, I purchased this one before I knew the coffee maker was crap. I'm hoping and praying the blender works. I did plug it in to test and seems ok so far. Fingers crossed. Staff at both locations were fine. Not especially outgoing. I mean the sit there and scan barcodes all day. But when I needed a little guidance on how/where to find my item (the coffee pot), they were quick to answer my questions. That is the high point. But the over all experience with the added fees, inability to return items without paying another additional fee and the risk of getting someone's garbage is just too frustrating. For whatever reason, someone decided to bid on stuff on my account and I refused to pay it because it's nothing I wanted or could find a use for. I was told that it's not their problem and if I dispute it they'd suspend my account. I want to address this directly. I do not come in intending to be aggressive, and I do not experience these issues with other staff members at this location. In fact, the majority of employees I have interacted with have been helpful and professional. The repeated characterization of me as the aggressor appears to arise specifically during interactions with Carmen and at times with the male supervisor (unknown male name), of Mac.bid Location in North Las Vegas . I want to be transparent and take accountability where appropriate: yes, I do become frustrated at times. That frustration comes directly and strictly from being cut off mid-sentence, spoken to dismissively, or addressed with a condescending tone. When communication begins in this manner, it makes it extremely difficult for any customer not to react emotionally. My frustration is not the cause of these interactions--it is the result of the demeanor and communication style used toward me and other customers everytime there's an interaction with Carmen. I also want to be clear that I do not believe the customer is always right. I understand policies must be enforced and that customers can be mistaken. My concern is not about being right; it is about being heard. When customers are not allowed to fully explain their situation or provide information before being shut down or cut off, productive communication becomes impossible. This issue is not isolated to me. While waiting in line on multiple occasions, I have observed similar interactions between Carmen and other customers. Customers are frequently interrupted before they can fully explain issues with purchased items. The dismissive and authoritative communication style often leads customers to react defensively, after which the reaction is blamed entirely on the customer rather than acknowledging the initial tone that escalated the situation. read more
