Our wall was starting to move so it was a matter of time before this had to be done so based on a recommendation we reached out to Javi and he came right over and provided an estimate within days. I wasn't keen to explore other bids so we signed the contract. Within 3 weeks the team took down the old wall and unearthed huge chunks of concrete rubble that was used for the fill this the poor drainage/ lack of drainage. They rebuilt the wall with a wider walkway that is gently curved and a cable railing to match our deck. He suggested leaving an area in front of the rail for planting. Brilliant idea! And while we were away, they relaid the pavers in a nice pattern. The drainage is unbelievable. The gravel, the drainage pipes were all expertly laid out to ensure that we will never have this problem again. His team starts on time each day and is tidy at the end of each day. We enjoyed providing them with extra water and snacks. The work is super labor intensive. Shoveling, digging, wheelbarrows of gravel, blocks, etc. I am humbled by the work ethic and quality of work. I won't think twice about working with anyone else. We are already talking about our front yard. Thank you JS Modern Landscaping! Support your local business!

I met with one landscape designer prior to meeting with Jared, I felt as though that designer wasn't understanding my vision. In addition the idea of paying a designer, then shopping contractor bids, dealing with both designer and contractor, seemed like a considerable contribution of time and energy. My wife and I both have demanding careers, we are short on both. Jared on the other hand is a one stop shop! I met with Jared and reviewed 2 different design concepts, then settled on one. D Garcia Landscaping completed a large fence project for us and we are extremely happy with the…read moreresults! This was a technically challenging project involving a steep hill and very mature redwood roots. Standout qualities of this company are: 1. Ease of quoting process Before coming out in person, they were able to give us a ballpark price based on dimensions, fence type, and site images. This allowed me to decide whether to move forward and I thought this was really respectful of my time. Then, Dago, the owner, came for the site visit and to discuss details. 2. No bait and switch In ironing out the details, there was some miscommunication about whether staining was included. Dago was able to meet us halfway with the price increase. This honest business style continued throughout the project and no change orders or unexpected price increases happened. 3. Detail oriented Throughout the project, we discussed details such as fence posts placement relative to tree roots, post height, etc. Dago was both available in person and by email via his assistant Maria. It was also nice to have responses confirmed in writing so that things were clear and there would be no bait and switch. 4. Personality Dago is a really nice person and I enjoy speaking with his about his geriatric dogs, etc. This also helped me not feel anxious about the project, because I felt that I could trust him. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range, another was around $12K, and an outlier was above $20K. Dago's price was the lowest quote (with minute differences in material) and we are very glad we went with him!
