The lounge is located at the end of Terminal 2, walk towards gate 7 then turn right, you'll see a little itty bitty sign that says "Mabuhay Lounge". There were zero signs directing where the lounge was located at, I had to ask an employee because it wasn't clear where the heck it was. I finally saw a sign directing where to go but nearly missed cus there were soo many people in the terminal, they were covering the sign. Upon arriving at the lounge, I checked in at the front and was greeted with a warm welcome and the latest gossip of the day. Not kidding, there were 4 workers at the front and 3 were gossiping in Tagalog about other workers lol. It was super packed when we walked in. Like literally packed that my sister and I were unsure if there was even any seating for us. The food selection was decent (I didn't eat anything cus I'm vegan and had no options aside from fruit) and honestly the food looked questionable - I wasn't sure how long the food was sitting there so I did a hard pass on it. The drinks cooler fridge was nearly empty and I had to ask for a water/soda. My sister decided to try their arroz caldo (rice porridge) soup but there werr no spoons. She asked an employee for a spoon and then they told us to get it from the utensils area...where there were no spoons. She looked at us like we were dumb lmao, I had to yell at her in Tagalog to get us a spoon because there's zero utensils in the "utensils area". The bar is smack dab in the middle of the seating area in a kind of awkward spot tbh, I've been to other lounges and have always seen the bars off to the side area but eh whatevs, to each their own. Their bathroom only has 2 small stalls and was definitely not well kept despite having two attendants...in the super cramped bathroom space. Most of the workers were just talking and socializing rather than attending to the food areas and cleaning up the leftover dishes. I was definitely not impressed. They also don't offer day passes so it sucked that we couldn't be my brother in (he was in premium economy), apparently only premiere elite card holders can bring a guest in. Again, I've been to many airline lounges overseas, and never heard of an airline not having day passes - guess there's a first for everything!
The only good thing about the lounge was the fact that it had its own separate WiFi (24 hr use) and AC units that blew cold air (bless!) hence my 2 star rating. So if you're wondering if it's worth it to use it? The answer is yes, because it definitely beats sitting out in the gate area with the barely working AC units blowing warm air at you, and the super slow limited WiFi service. They lack seating and outlets in the gate area, so the lounge is a decent space to hang around in and charge your devices. That's really the only perk of this lounge tbh. I believe there's also a shower area, which ideally would be great to use if you're doing a few legs for a trip and have a stopover in MNL. FYI, it looked a little small so just be weary of that! read more
