Cathay Pacific lounges are some of the best around the world, and this newly opened lounge at NAIA 3 certainly does not disappoint. It is classy and elegant, with the rest of the other CX lounges, consisting of wood-inspired decor and some tradition Filipino touches. I might go on a whim here and say that this lounge may just beat The Wing at the HKIA. Customer service is top-notch, along with the food and beverage selection.
At the bar, you can order fresh fruit juice, with a selection of bread and pastries, yogurt, and cereal. In the dining area, there is a breakfast bar - where the food is prepared fresh and hot upon order (none of that "buffet"-style food). Lots of options to choose from, including your standard dim sum options of vegetable dumplings (fun gwor), shrimp dumplings (har gaw), BBQ pork buns (char siu bao), and pork sio mai. As for the mains, there's wonton noodles, congee with chicken, corned beef with rice, and banana pancakes. All were delicious, especially the pancakes with slices of banana sandwiched in between. You will also find fresh salad and fresh fruit, cheese and crackers refrigerated inside a shelving unit, next to where you order food.
Wifi is of course fast, a quick relief to the slow and delayed data speeds in the Philippines. The side tables even come out with a pull-out drawer with charging docks.
