Well we found this little place on a drive. We arrived at 1045 am received food at 1130, but the order was given to wrong table and the guy moved the toast off the plate and she then tried to offer to us. Table had some jelly paks unopened and moved one it had gravy all under. Should have left, but it was a very busy place so we stayed to see what the food tasted like. Country ham, biscuits and gravy, grits and home fried potatoes was one order the other a veggie omelet add ham with a water and an unsweet tea. Men's Bathroom did not have soap, women's did. Waitresses wore masks, were friendly, but ours was totally off--maybe she had too many tables and she was very apologetic. Food was tasty, but it seems no one knows how to make grits anymore! Country ham was cooked perfectly and biscuits and gravy were good. Husband said omelet was hot--well yea it was the second one and just came out. He said it tasted fine. Price for all was $11. Busy local place. Unheard of low prices, food was good, but my clothes still smell of the foods being served. Would I ever go back... read more

Very unique atmosphere. Seat yourself right when you walk in. Great variety of breakfast foods as well as an option of cherry coke! The breakfast menu is not available online, but they have a huge variety of breakfast meals, sandwiches, omelets and sides. DELICIOUS FOOD! Definitely get the biscuits... buttery, flaky and yummy. Also cash only! read more

When headed to Bledsoe State Park last Sunday morning we were in the mood for diner breakfast and found this place in Gallatin. I hesitated because a few of the reviews here and elsewhere complained the dining room was dirty but we went for it and I'm glad we did. Not only was it not dirty (aside from tables that customers left dirty during the time it took a server to bus the table) but it was good and incredibly cheap. My wife and I both had full breakfast plates and coffee and the ticket was barely $11 which is crazy. Of course it's cash only so make sure you have it on hand before you go and being that it's election year in the south at a cheap diner make sure overhearing out there opinions doesn't disturb you too much but other than that it's all good. read more

This place is not fancy, but if you want a very affordable home cooked meal then I would suggest. Cash or check only!! So come prepared. The meatloaf meat and 3 was great. read more

Locals diner. Food okay. Old familiar mix matched tables and chairs. Cheap eats, cash only. read more

Mable's Dining Room - Not a local, but a hungry tourist - American Near Me - Gallatin, Tennessee

We all had Catfish and we all loved it, it was lightly breaded and not too thick, and all the sides were great also. Drawback is the lack of cleaning, I'd hate to see the kitchen after seeing the dining room and restroom, assuming it's clean, then I'd recommend eating here. read more

Mable's Dining Room - 2 piece Catfish - American Near Me - Gallatin, Tennessee

I went here twice with good experiences but not this morning. Granted they were busy but there were available tables that needed to be cleaned. Not ONE server acknowledged our existence or offered to clean a table. After being completely ignored for a solid 5 minutes, I got the drift and left. Absurd way to treat paying customers. I would have been fine with waiting, a simple "I'll be right with you and get a table cleaned as soon as possible" would have sufficed. They just lost my business. I went on into the new South Water Family Diner and same situation, all 3 servers acknowledged us and cleaned a table for us immediately. They will now be getting my business, along with sizable tips. BTW, I have been a server and would highly suggest those ladies at Mabel's learn to acknowledge their guests from this point on, it's " how you earn your money "!!! read more

Great little diner for a home cooked meal. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Dining room was a bit dark and pretty cold temperature wise. Everything you would expect though from a little diner with home cooked food. Plenty of seating available throughout. Food was good and tasty and not overly seasoned. Came out fast and hot and our server was very friendly and helpful. Excellent portions especially for the price. We both had full breakfast meals with a drink for $13. We will be trying this again for lunch/dinner. read more

I go here twice a week and have for over 2 years. Food is always good, service is constantly top notch, and prices are great. Highly recommend for anyone looking for home style food. read more

So this was my first visit to Mable's. The reviews aren't wrong about the food, it was delicious. They only accept check or cash, how retro lol. They were a bit busy when we were there this morning but the waitress never complained and let us know up front that the kitchen was a little backed up, it was worth it. My only real complaint were the flies, there were a lot of flies inside the building. Cleaning the tables up quickly and well might help cut down on them some but ultimately they should figure put how they are getting in so badly. With that being said the food was great and worth another visit. It cost the 2 of us less than 15.00 and we definitely left full. read more

Old style diner. Nice atmosphere. But..we waited 35 minutes to get our food on a weds morning at 9am. Can you imagine how long you would wait during a busy time read more

Good little place to have a decent meal. Ridiculously inexpensive place. Great service too.

I love the food here. The people are super nice and the dining is really cheap. Perfect if you just want some good food to fill you up.

My sister wanted real country cooking for dinner. And we got it. Good is cooked like your mother or grandmothers. We will return.

You can get high quality food, cheap prices, good service. Pick two The food is absolutely incredible, the gravy is perfect, the hash browns are fresh I can not fathom anything they do not do well with the food. The service though is rather lacking, and its poor enough to lose two stars that and it being a cash only joint with no ATM near by. So if you want a local diner with amazing food this is your place, just dont expect to get five star service here. But the food is hot, the place is clean so I will return when I am back in town. read more

Very tasty homestyle breakfast for seven eclipse watchers. Friendly, leisurely service. Amazing value.

Check or Cash only, but don't worry, you won't need much cash to get a really good Meat & 3. They also have a regular menu. Place was clean, ample parking and the staff was friendly. read more

We sat for 45 minutes and hadn't gotten to order breakfast! We won't be returning! We waited that long because their breakfast plates have always been delicious. They have changed. read more

Great food and excellent customer service. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. We are planning on a return visit.

Food was very good.... However the place was very dirty.... I had trouble eating because I was scared of how dirty the kitchen may be based on the dining room. If it were cleaner this place would easily be 4* plus because the food is actually very good..... Just cannot believe how dirty the dining room was. My shoes were literally sticking to the floor as I walked around! read more

This is a great old fashion meat & 3. The staff is pleasant and the food is consistent. You cant beat the prices. Very fair! The only thing that would make this place better, is a little better lettuce on the salad bar. Overall a great place! read more

Never been, but if it's run by Mable, then good old fashioned country cooking looks great to me...love City Food and Country Food...if someone else is putting a lot of love in to it, then I say a huge thanks...happy new year 2018 darlings...and yes, some British folk are actually lovely...like me...so to all those southerners who might be scared of us who were raised to eat with a knife and fork prior to 2 years old, do not fear, we are not mentally challenged, we were just challenged by mummy and daddy to eat that way....but I say, bring love and an appetite and we have you covered wherever you are. Great meat and 3 and an awesome breakfast menu. Best thing ... You can get breakfast all day.

Best meat and 3 in Gallatin. Desserts are delicious!

This was great food. He catfish was really good. Also all the pies are handmade from a local in the area! Fast and friendly service. They close at 8:30 not 9 pm. read more

Food was bland. Place was really dirty. It was at least, cheap. Someone said it was the best meat and 3 in Gallatin. If that is true there must not be any others. read more

I loved this place, until.....the cockroaches!!!! They were whizzing all over the place the last time I was in. I mentioned it to the cashier and she said they had an exterminator in twice in the last two weeks and he apparently was not very good at his job. I killed one zooming past me on the window sill. It took me half a dozen swipes, but I finally got him. If there ARE roaches, you want to see them moving very, very slowly, on their last legs, not setting speed records. The lady I was with requested that we not come here anymore. There are bugs everywhere, just not quite so many as was here. I will miss Mable's. To make matters worse, the spaghetti was lousy that day, which is why I went there to begin with. Double whammy, so to speak! Bugs and terrible food!!! I have had some great breakfasts here. Adios, Mabel............. read more

Great place. Very good food. Good service and a friendly town! A must see. We will always stop at Mable's
