My 11-year-old was…read morevery comfortable with him, and she usually gets pretty scared at offices of doctors and dentists etc. I just read Dr. Wells' biography and I'm very grateful he is this kind and generous with his time because he is obviously quite busy with surgeries and is well known in his practice area. The front desk was also very nice - Aisha is really the best. Over the years, with one kid who was born with craniofacial defects and another kid who has sleep issues and large tonsils, we've seen many ENTs. PS - if you call and you stay on wait for a long time, just choose the call back option. I started calling in November to follow up because I didn't hear back. They do not answer their phones. I've left a few messages, every 2 weeks, (not to bombard them) and still absolutely nothing. I had to call 3-5 times, and each time I sat in the queue anywhere from 30 to 95 minutes before giving up or finally getting through. It should not be this difficult to contact the office or reschedule an appointment. The doctors may be great, but the administrative side seriously needs improvement. Please fix the phone system--patients shouldn't have to waste hours just trying to reach someone.

I need a rhino to fix these issues caused by the implant. Of course insurance won't pay to fix it. I wonder if my nose was purposefully messed up to get me to come back to pay for a rhino down the line. I went back a few times after voicing my concerns, but I was told that "your nose is perfectly straight inside." It's actually not. The root of my problem was never fixed... I still have serious deviation issues in my nose among other problems that were never addressed properly. I also have a hump on one side of my nose from this nasal implant. Ughhh. So frustrating. Also, what they failed to inform me is, during a septoplasty, they remove the septum cartilage (not straightening it). And if you ever need a rhinoplasty, they use your septum cartilage to form your new nose. Well, since my septum has now been removed, they either have to harvest rib cartilage or use cadaver cartilage in a functional rhinoplasty to fix my current issues caused by this surgeon. I am so unsatisfied. Be warned.

My mom had an earache around thanksgiving and she called to make an appointment but Dr Luu was…read moregoing on vacation so they gave her an appointment three weeks out. By then her earache had gone away but she decided to go to check for ear wax. Dr Luu noticed her thyroid had nodules on it as soon as he walked in the room. My mom goes to her primary care physicians regularly but she never noticed anything and only tested for thyroid hormones which were normal. Dr Luu suggested an ultrasound and then a biopsy at the pathologist. It turned out that there were some abnormal cells and my mom needed her thyroid removed. Dr Luu is so observant, knowledgeable, reassuring, and humble. My mom was so nervous about the surgery and he took his time to make her feel comfortable. He's a very sharp diagnostician as well as a skilled surgeon. We're so grateful for his care.

My son was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma stage 4C at the age of 15. By the grace of God; prayers from around the world; and all the great doctors and nurses at CHOC of Orange, most especially, the AMAZING Oncologist, Dr. Irvan Kirov at CHOC, my son is alive today.
