I came here for an early lunch. It's in a stripe mall and doesn't look that appealing. The food however was very good. I ordered the jerk pork, peas and rice with a plantain. The food came out quickly. I only seen one service who was very nice. Parking was easy and inside is a bit hot. I think they had some a/c issues.

Food so good it felt like a warm hug from mom the minute I tasted it. I always try to find new places when I'm in a new area. So I found Maam's Jamaican Restaurant with some good reviews and had to check it out for myself. Located next to a gas station and in a small strip mall there is not too much fanciness here. But what they lack in appearance they more than make up with what really counts which is the food. Whenever I try Jamaican food, I steer directly to the oxtail. The oxtail comes with a generous portion of peas and rice, slaw and plaintains. I also ordered a spicy beef patty. The oxtail was so flavorful and tender. It was just the right amount of spice and a hint of sweetness. I asked for them to drizzle some sauce over the rice and oh man it was so good. The patty was also flaky and spicy. Delicious. In fact it was so good that I went back the next day to try more. The next day I got their BBQ Ribs and Goat's Head Soup. It was my first time trying Goat's Head Soup and I immediately knew from the first sip. Literally knocked me over from such a deep and hearty flavor. It was out of this world. I would definitely come back for this soup alone!! The ribs were also amazing. Meat falling off the bone style. I honestly fell completely in love with Maam's. Food was amazing. Staff were super friendly. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a going over to someones house for some home cooking. Not only do I highly recommend but I'm personally making sure that whenever I'm in the area to stop by and grab some to go.

While visiting for a work trip I stumbled upon this little spot. I was craving some good Jamaican food and this hit the spot. The food was amazing with tons of flavor. The portion was huge and the owner was very friendly. This is mostly a take out place but they do have several tables on the side dining area. Worth a shot if you like authentic Jamaican!

Well, I am sorry to say but I feel as though I wasted my $40. I went there to pick up lunch with my family and I left feeling confused and disappointed. Confused as to why this place has good reviews on Yelp and disappointed with the service and food. So lets start from the top. This place is located in a sleepy strip mall just off the i-95. Amazing location if i do say so myself. Walking in it is pretty clean and the food is set out in serving containers, so you can see the food before you buy it. I really like that. Now lets get into the problems. The service was lacking. The employee was not welcoming and it felt like she was mad we were even there. My mom was asking questions and it was as if she didn't want to answer. I didn't like that the menu prices were not posting inside. How am i supposed to know the prices? A guy ( who i am assuming is the chef) was nicer and did greet us so I will give them that. We ordered Cow Foot, Oxtail, Callaloo and Brown Stew Chicken. I can only describe the Callaloo was SALTY. My mom was so disappointed because callaloo is normally her favorite dish. The brown stew and oxtail both suffered the same fate, way too sweet. Like actually sweet. It was too strong. Sugar should never be the only flavor I am tasting in meat. The rice was forgettable and Honestly the best Item was the cow foot. Most of my family ended up tossing the food away. There is so much better Jamaican food in Miami gardens so I wont be back.

Man, this Jerk Chicken is some real deal, juicy tender JERK CHICKEN. My experience actually comes via my buddy Jeff who picks up for me on his way to work. The flavor is unbelievable and I can't wait to have him bring me more again. And... of course I am reimbursing Jeff in case you're being nosy, lol. The rice & peas has a nice softness to it, the brown stew sauce which I had him pour over the Jerk Chicken and rice was delicious. I'm not sure if they grill the chicken but it had a texture and taste as if it was off the grill, at least a propane grill at the very least.

The flavors were really hittin--not salty but definitely not lacking in flavor and complexity. So delicious The only criticism I would have from what I ordered is that the rice was ever so slightly undercooked which made it a bit dry. Other than that, everything was great. There's not really a server--you order and they text you when it's ready. Then you come pick it up and go to your table. But the cashier lady was very nice and helped me decide what to get.

If you're looking for something unique to try at the Citadel, Manjay is worth a shot. They serve Haitian cuisine. Portions were generous and in general, the food was kind of heavy. Many of the components I believe were made to order, so there was a short wait. Here's what my wife and I ordered: Appetizer: * Caribbean Conch Fritters ($14) - Manjay pikliz, honey mustard remoulade These were big and tasty. Six pieces, like giant hush puppies with conch inside. The plate came with pikliz in the center. Pikliz is like the Haitian version of coleslaw, made with cabbage, carrots, onions, and peppers. Manjay's version was spicy and yummy. Bowls, each with 2 sides and 1 sauce: * Honey Jerk Chicken Bowl ($18) - breaded and tossed in Manjay's homemade honey jerk sauce; with red beans rice and sweet plantains and scotch bonnet mango aioli * From Haiti with Love (Griyo) ($18) - Deep-fried Kreyol-style slow-braised pork; with banan payzay and toofay Both the chicken and pork were very good and flavorful. The pork was served bone-in. The rice and beans and sweet plantains were comforting and addictive. The scotch bonnet mango aioli was spicy. Banan payzay are Haitian pressed plantains. These were savory and starchy. The toofay ("legume") was good too. It's a hearty vegetable stew, essentially Haitian ratatouille. Our cashier was Roniqua and she was nice. During our visit, I think Manjay had the longest line (a good sign). After walking around, looking at the other food court options and seeing Manjay's high rating on Yelp, we were sold on Manjay. We dined in so we got real plates and silverware. We actually took everything up to the rooftop bar and ate up there. Our trays were bussed by the staff on the roof. Along with this location at the Citadel food court in Little River (just north of Little Haiti), Manjay has a casual strip location near the Miami airport in Doral. This Citadel location is the original; it opened in February 2019. The Doral location opened in 2024.
