I went to a number of places for a great deal of small body work items. Most weren't interested or wouldn't break the work down to separate jobs so I could get them done as I could afford them. A friend recommended Maaco and the price was much lower. Brian was will to work with me and separate out the jobs. ****Beware of Maaco and Stay Away***** I had the worst experience ever and I got scammed with their absolutely embarrassing paint service along with their fine print on the form about how they can have debris in your paint. The owner Adam Hoffman is a joke. He admitted to me that he has added all this fine print on his contract over the years because he goes to court so often. I had them paint a rear bumper part and was appalled when I came to pick it up. They denied any issues with it to my face and said there are going to be 'minor' imperfections in the paint as they are a body shop as well. They then tried to get me to pay more money to repaint it. I paid just over $500 and that should have been my first red flag. I ended up going to a quality paint and collision shop in KC and they only charged $250 total and provided a quality (normal) paint job. Adam with Maaco tried to blame the absolutely poor paint job on the condition of my part. You can see for yourself in the photos attached at all the scratches, scuffs, blemishes, raised/bubbles in the grooves, and an absurd amount of sand like debris in the paint. The photos cannot express how gritty this paint job was. They also didn't fully spray around the exhaust outlets. Maaco corporate doesn't exist either so you will spend weeks calling and leaving messages. Their phone lines are not setup to have a live person answer, ever. I received a call back weeks later and the customer service representative said he could do nothing and it was up to the manager Adam Hoffman. I feel sorry for the people that do more than a bumper and spend thousands. I am out over $500 and I cannot express how much you should stay away from Maaco! read more

Fixed the door on my car and they did a pretty decent job, however the customer service was absolutely god awful. I was almost happier to he done dealing with them more than my car being fixed. They're a franchise though so I can't speak for other locations, only this one. read more

I didn't wake up one day and think to myself "it would be fun to pay for a new paint job on my car", but here I am. My ten-year-old car was looking pretty tired and rust was beginning around the wheel wells. After trying a few at home paint fixes, it looked worse. With just barely 100,000 miles on it (and a Toyota which out to run for at least twice that!) I figured, we're going to have this car a long while yet, let's do this. I made an online appointment for an estimate. I'm glad I could do that at 7pm at night. It allowed me to figure out what time would work best with my work schedule to drop in. When I arrived the next day I was immediately greeted and Blue gave me an estimate and walked me through the options. I appreciated that the prices were listed in the lobby on big boards, great transparency! After I understood my options I wanted to talk things over with my husband and decide what we would do. I left with a printed estimate. When I called to schedule my paint job, Blue remembered me and told me that if I brought the car in before Noon on Monday it was likely they would have it done by Friday morning. (Remove rust, strip the areas that had lots of little chips, paint the entire car, etc.) As promised, it's Friday morning and I just picked up my car. Even though we chose the lowest cost package, our car looks flawless. Blue thanked me for my business and gave me some 'care instructions' to help extend the life of the paint job. Somebody jackass backed into my 1978 Dodge Polaro with a slant 6 motor and 3 on the tree, Air shocks, 2 10' cb antennas (I can pick up Lincoln, Nebraska sometimes at night) and jerked the fucking bumper clean off of it. I was so pissed I couldn't see straight for a couple hours. These mother Fulkerson at Maaco knocked it out of the park. Micheal shot pearl jalapeño and then laid down a sweet lime green pin stripe down both sides. Now I put air shocks on it race anyone who looks at me wrong. Blue and her team did a great job reinvigorating my Honda Civic SI. Great car, just rolled past 100k, but man did that Honda clear coat fail spectacularly. The Maaco team did a great job. You get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting perfection for my Honda Accord, but I didn't expect to see deep swirl marks left by their sanding, overspray on ALL my windows, drips (I can only assume) in the paint, pits in the paint ( I believe from the car wash - yes, I waited a month) and a severely scratched windshield. What a whirlwind. I brought my Jeep in for a paint job and originally got the olive metallic green. It looked great, but over time there was flaking of paint on certain corners of the vehicle. I brought to Douglas and John who informed me the man who painted my Jeep has been let go due to similar issues. So to make it right they repainted it for me without charge. Unfortunately I picked a different color instead of the original. When I got it back I noticed they missed a couple of spots, but the color is what bothered me the most (that was my fault for choosing it). Since they missed some spots and I hated the color I brought it back and had them repaint to a color I really liked. This time they let me see a freshly painted sample on a paddle. I wish I would of asked for that before. The cost for all of this was still more than half of what other auto body shops wanted to charge. Dan and Michele at 8787 Lenexa Drive were atrocious and their customer service skills are about as extensive as their intelligence. Sadly, to label them sophomoric is extending them both more maturity than they are capable of...again, don't EVER get this Maaco - it truly is an UH-OH!!! If they ran their business as well as they ran their mouths, reviews like this would likely never hit the pages of YELP! This shop was terrible at communicating!! I dropped off my vehicle in June to have it held in their parking lot for 4 months (late October), only to have them tell me that they could not repair my vehicle! They made up reasons why they could not repair my vehicle and passed blame to other shops so that they did not have to initiate the repairs! I couldn't get any assistance from Brian with photos or negotiating with the insurance company to fix my vehicle. They instead held the money from the insurance company and held my vehicle until I had had enough and had my vehicle moved to a shop where it was deemed a total loss. This was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE that I had ever experienced with a car repair shop and would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE doing business with this "establishment"(8787 Lenexa Dr Overland Park, KS 66214). Because of this situation my family suffered FINANCIAL STRAIN for a period of time and stress from the LACK OF SERVICE and PROFESSIONALISM. I had heard mixed opinions of Maaco but I needed my new Dodge Charger repaired and a friend said he had a good experience with the Maaco shop in Overland Park. The car has been hit on the driver side right between the two doors and looked like a mess. Maaco quoted me $980 less than the dealer and made the car look like new. They were professional, did good work and did it for less than the dealership which saved me my entire deductible plus a bit! #MaacoSucks We took our 2021 Acura RDX to Maaco at 8787 Lenexa Drive, because it was a convenient location, to have the hood repaired from a rock that hit it from a construction vehicle. What a mistake that was! I ended up with a general manager, Adam Hoffman, telling me he did not even take his own car there because Maaco has such low standards allowing three, yes 3, defects for every sq. foot of surface area by company policy. Not only that, but they also managed to dent the hood! If that was not my bad enough when I told them I'd be writing this review, the manager, Michelle Colombo, held my car hostage, refusing to take my credit card and demanding cash. Come to find out this is a common problem with them, as I called the police and the officer responding said I was the second one that afternoon to report the same issue. Here is the saga of #MaacoSucks: The first time we went to pick up the car the we noticed were new scratches in both fenders. Closer review found several areas on the hood with debris embedded in the paint. The manager, Michelle, was nice enough, and saying she'd have it repainted. Second try we returned to again find debris in several spots in the hood and this time there was a small dent in the hood. Michelle Colombo was visually irritated and said, I should not expect perfect. These cars come from the factory with these problems all the time, Michelle stated. To which I responded my asking her to show me one other place on the car that looked like that and I'd take the car. Michelle's response was, well I guess third time is a charm.....it was not to be. Third time was no better than the previous two. Still several areas where there was debris in the hood. The dent remained. And, NOW there were white specs in the black paint in a couple of areas. So, when I pointed these out Michelle, who was obviously frustrated, and again offered to paint it. Talking to the wife, she did not want to give them a fourth try. I told Michelle at this point we'd just like to take the car somewhere else. Her response was that was fine, but we had to pay her for the work done. After some discussion between the wife and I, we agreed to go ahead and pay and leave. When we were handing Michelle our credit card for payment, I explained to her that while we were paying the bill, we were certainly not happy with the work, and I'd be writing reviews on all the social media sites I could find. She immediately jumped up out of the chair, visibly angry, pushed past us, and yelled, "you aren't going to bully me! Now you have to pay cash." I responded by saying she needed to take our credit card and release the car or I'd call the police. She told me to go ahead, soon to find out this was a common occurrence here, and told me her GM would be there in 30 minutes. I call the police. The officer arrived in about 20 minutes. I explain the situation to the officer who then goes inside to get their story. He comes back out telling me this is their company policy. Anytime someone complains about the work they assume they will dispute the credit card charge and will require cash. He also tells me this is the second call that afternoon for this same problem. He states there is nothing more he can do and tells me the GM will be coming out to talk to me. Finally, the GM, Adam Hoffman, decides to come speak to us. I tell him all the problems. He does not even bother to look at the car, being very dismissive of my concerns with the car and his manager, Michelle Colombo, and proceeds to tell me that it is Maaco policy to allow three defects for every sq foot of repair. When I ask Adam if he is kidding, he tells me that when his car was in an accident he went to a competing shop, Eveland Brothers, because he knew Maaco's standards were so low. He took his car to a competing shop! He told me that I should have known to go to a different shop if I expected to have quality work done, saying that's why their prices were lower. I told him that it might be good, especially when someone brings new cars in, to tell them Maaco does poor work and explain Maaco standards, as I could not find such posted anywhere. And just to add insult to injury, when we finally go get cash so we can get our car, the steering wheel and door had dirty hand prints all over them! #Maacosucks read more

I delivered my 2006 Mustang GT on a Monday for some body work and complete repaint to Maaco. I was promised the car by Friday. On Friday after final inspection we found bubbles and dirt in the paint. Also, the mirrors and spoiler were not painted. They promised another try to fix the issues which they said would be a sand down and another repaint. After their final internal inspection, they found issues and were to fix them. On the 16th day, they called and said the car was ready. Again, I found the mirrors were still not painted, there were multiple overspray areas creating hazy sections, the exhaust system was painted, overspray on glass, headlights and taillights. There was dirt and bubbles on the right rear quarter panel. All missed in their final inspection prior to delivery. read more

I had a relatively small repair that I couldn't manage on my own, I took it to the people who know how today's cars go together to minimize hassle in my life and Maaco delivered! The manager happens to be female and I only mention it to let other female drivers know who they will be dealing with because women can sometimes feel taken advantage of if they don't know cars well. She was completely professional, humanely courteous (in an often rude society) and she appreciates her staff. She gave my job to a fantastic technician that completed it in almost half the time the estimate suggested. If I have to deal with the aftermath of an accident again I want this team working for me. read more

One of my most unprofessional experiences. Was told it would take 2 weeks to do body touch up and paint - took 9 weeks! I'm the one who was always calling to ask when it might be ready. And to be fair they would call back but only after I had called first. I paid extra to have windows taken out. Window frame studs were broken and one frame was broken as well. But somehow not their fault. They told me I didn't need all the studs and the broken frame was not a big deal and that they could put them back in anyway. I told them not to bother to put them back, that I would do it. I was charged the full price anyway. When the job was done they painted right over the butyl tape, not bothering to remove it because the window frame would cover it. Then why take off the window?? Reply was "You remove the windows so that you can get the paint to everything that sits behind the window but when you put the window back it covers the old glue" Really?? For $6,000 I pray the paint will last. Body man did well taking out the minor dents. read more

I had an unfortunate scuff on my new truck and it was really getting me down, so I called Maaco in Overland Park. The wonderful woman that answered the phone told me that if I came in to have it looked it, then they would give me a free estimate and it would only take 10 minutes. Unfortunately, i was told that it would probably cost a few hundred dollars to fix. I showed up after work and she came out to look at it. She said that I could wait in the lobby and to grab a bottle of water and that she would like to take the truck back and try something. A bit later she came back and motioned me out to my truck. Apparently the scuff was just residue left from another vehicle's tire or something. I almost started crying out of relief for the fact that she saved me several hundred dollars that could have been charged by a much, much less honest person. If I have any actual collision damage in the future or I hear the same of family or friends I'm going head straight to Maaco or strongly suggest that they head that way themselves! read more

Get everything in writing. I got an estimate to replace my front fender and bumper. I agreed to the price but four days later received a phone call telling me the headlamp needed replacing also. I asked if the price quoted over the phone included labor and was told it did. When I picked up the car I saw a $50 charge for labor to replace the headlamp. When I reminded them I was told labor was included in the price they quoted they said they thought the computer generated quote included labor but it didn't. Since l had nothing in writing I had to go ahead and pay the extra $50. Don't ever except a quote verbally from them, make sure you have everything in writing! read more

I spent over ten years restoring a 1966 Chevy pickup, when it was time to get it painted, I was stunned at the high prices quoted by local body shops. I took my truck to Maaco last December fully expecting to get a so so paint job at a decent price. I went with the next to the top of the line paint job and it was singnificantly cheaper than the estimates from the other body shops. Dan was GREAT to work with. He offered to test spray the color so that I could see it before it was sprayed on the truck. Nobody else made an offer like that. When I picked up the truck I could not believe how great it looked. Every time I drive it I get comments on how great the paint job is. When I tell them I had it done at Maaco, everyone is shocked. I showed the truck to the body shop that did all the prep work and they were speechless at the quality job! I think this particular Maaco is far superior to others and that's due to Dan's committment to providing quality service. I tend to be a very harsh judge and I hate to spend money so when I say that Dan way over exceeded my expectations, its saying a lot. I waited a long time to write this review so that I could see how the paint job held up. I leave the truck parked outside and it looks just as good now as it did nine months ago. I bought a used car several months ago and the paint was peeling off of the hood. I took it to Dan and he matched the color perfectly and it looks as good as new. I sadly dented my truck today and will be taking it to Dan for repair. I will also be taking in my Volvo and Mustang that both need work I will use Dan for all of my auto paint and body repair needs going forward. Dan will give you a good as new product for a really good price. If you aren't familiar with how much paint and body work costs nowadays, get educated. Get estimates at several other places first. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this bodyshop. My son got in an accident with his 2001 Camry. The first place we took the car gave us an estimate of $5200 to make the car look like it had before the accident. I took my estimate from that body shop to Maaco and talked to Daniel. He said they could definately slash a bunch off of that price. Maaco arranged for a tow from the first body shop for under a hundred bucks and put the car back together like new for $3200. Yes -- $2000 less!! So am I happy??Absolutely! My son is ultimately paying this bill, so needless to say he's extactic! read more

This is a little late. A few months ago I tangled with a trash incinerator that reached out and grabbed my new Dodge Grand Caravan and mangled my tailgate. Got three estimates, since it was obviously MY expense. Daniel quoted my $1000.00 less than my top estimate, and gave me a half price discount on the bumper pad. I bought a used 2006 Ford Taurus because it was in great mechanical shape however the exterior was in sad shape. I took the car into the Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting Shop, located at 8787 Lenexa Drive, Overland Park, KS, and I picked up my car one week later and the car looked totally transformed. It does not even look its age, the body work completed is flawless, and the metallic color and shine is amazing! Douglas and his staff were wonderful to work with - they knew exactly what to recommend, helped me through the entire process, and they made sure to stay within my budget.
