Only 2-4 occupants at a time. You totally have your choice of seat. + If you're lucky, fast pickup. I was at the Seattle ferry terminal when I ordered via Ride Pingo. The bus came within 2min! Experience #2: - If you're unlucky, pickup could take over 30min. The service is a shared ride, so if someone else happens to request a ride around the same time as you, and they're located a bit out of the way, the bus will still reroute to pick up the other person first (and possibly drop them off at their destination, unfortunately) before finally picking you up. Uber and Lyft don't share this flaw. - Furthermore, once you request a ride, you'd best stay put. The Ride Pingo app doesn't provide the bus driver a live update of your location like other rideshares do. Initially staying put, I saw the added delays. I decided to start walking from my pickup point toward the bus. I stayed on the path the bus would take to reach me, so the driver will see me. After a 15min walk, the bus showed up and drove past me. I waved to the driver, and the driver waved back at me as she kept driving. I felt nervous and abandoned, but I quickly looked up BI Ride (Kitsap Transit)'s phone # and eventually got it sorted out. After some scrambling on both sides, finally the bus found me. - And during this incident, I checked that a $9 Uber would've picked me up in 8min (while a $52 Lyft would pick me up in 27min. shocker). - After picking me up, the driver proceeded to pick someone else up and then drop them off before 'finally' dropping me off at Ba Sa Restaurant. Experience #3 (avoided another predicament): - Requesting another BI Ride later that afternoon, I would be stop #7 and pickup would be in 27min. holy moly. Not worth the $2. Rather pay more for Uber, pick me up right away. Summary My experience with Kitsap Transit's BI Ride was marvelous in the morning (Mon 11am), questionable at noon, and dismal by afternoon (2:31pm).

The female driver exhibited a lack of consideration. At 6:34 pm, she was still engaged in conversation with another female driver instead of returning to the bus to activate the interior lights and open the door for passengers. Consequently, other passengers entered the bus, and I followed. The driver returned at 6:35. I hope that drivers will receive training on the importance of consideration and allowing waiting passengers to board the bus. As the waiting area seating was infested with biting insects, I was unable to sit there.

This location allows foot traffic, bicycles and motor vehicles. One way or round trip. Check the schedule for departure and arrival times. Please arrive at least 20-30 minutes before scheduled departure time. Take a break from tolls and traffic. Yes. We opted for one way from Bremerton to Seattle. Ferry departed and arrived to Seattle on time within one hour. Once you step out with your valuables and lock the vehicle, you're able to walk upstairs, enjoy the view indoors and outdoors. I had fun chillin' outside on a clear day. There were families taking photos of the scenery or groupies. We sat in the first row indoors. Some of our relatives decided to order sandwich, snacks and a beverage. There's also restrooms. If you must, use the restroom in advance before the ferry arrives at the destination to avoid rushing back to the vehicle downstairs and be mindful of others having to leave. Our route was the fast ferry where we go through Rich Pass, you'll see Port Orchard to the right and Bainbridge Island on the left, then make your way to Seattle. Smooth ride.

If you plan on needing a reliable form of transportation sadly this is not it. Somehow WSF managed to make it work for the FIFA in Seattle but once that ended they sadly regressed to their old ways.

You can sit inside or go outside (there are benches there) and take in the view and breeze. It is usually $1-2 a trip but from now till end of 2024, it's free on Sundays. There's a public parking lot by the ferry terminal which is free for 3 hours parking. Great to make short trip to Bremerton. It's about 10 minutes ride away. There is a sheltered waiting area so you can hide from the wind and rain if needed. Note: I got sea legs after coming back from Bremerton. The water was not particularly choppy. Going was fine, but coming back was not. It took a while to feel ok. If you're prone to seasickness, the ferry may not be for you.

I take the Foot Ferry across Sinclair Inlet, then board the "big ferry" to Pier 52 in Seattle. Super easy commute. The ferry runs every 30 minutes from PO to Bremerton, and on the return leg, there is one every 15 minutes at the end of the day - the one on the "15" goes on to Annapolis while the even hour goes just to Port Orchard. Orca cards are accepted, but bus transfers are not! Just so you know. The trip is relatively short from the north end of downtown to SLU, but comfortable, smooth and clean. It's not too crowded; at least not early on a Thursday afternoon while most are lunching. The trolley provides easy access to MOHAI and the Center for Wooden Boats without having to search for and pay for limited hours parking.

I hope they can salvage this somehow…read more As far as a people mover system, the South Lake Union Streetcar has as much appeal as the Seattle Monorail. It is a curiosity, but lacking in usefulness for most. The Streetcar runs from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the Eastlake area to a stop across the street from Westlake Center. There is a train every 15 minutes. The system seems to model itself like the Portland Streetcar, but the current streetcar system in Seattle is inferior in the same way that Seattle's Sound Transit Light Rail system is to the Portland MAX system. In its current state, I think the main use of it is in shuttling Amazon and Fred Hutchinson employees from Westlake to their respective offices. There is not a whole lot of Metro bus service in South Lake Union (SLU), so the Streetcar does alleviate that issue a bit. But seeing that Westlake is only several blocks south from SLU, I think most people including myself would prefer to walk the distance rather than wait for the Streetcar. I would only take it if there was a train leaving shortly that would save me a couple minutes. Work on a First Hill Streetcar is going on now and there has been talk of extending the SLU Streetcar further north which would be great if it happens. It would be a waste to not expand. Right now the value of this line is not there, but hopefully city planners can turn that around with some forward thinking expansion.

We've been using GoldStar for over a decade to get to and from the airport. They are very reliable…read more- always showing up a few minutes before the scheduled time on the morning of departure (waiting patiently until you're ready), and they'll pick you up right outside the baggage claim area within minutes of getting your call on the day of your return (as compared to your having to make the trek to the rideshare pickup area in the SeaTac parking garage). Their vehicles are new, clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the drivers are always friendly and flawlessly courteous. Their pricing information is clear and accurate, and a reasonable gratuity is built into the base cost, so there's no tip-related fumbling at departure/arrival. I've traveled more than usual over the last few years, and have occasionally used rideshare services. Although this can sometimes result in a lower overall fare than for a limo, I've found that with the tip included, the cost of using GoldStar is either comparable to rideshare services, or can actually be less expensive. Using GoldStar has made the rigmarole of getting to and from the airport far more manageable, and I'd recommend them to anyone traveling for either business or pleasure.
