Been using M Technik for years but the last experience was horrible. I think they have some of the best mechanics in town, but they have a new front office person (JJ) that is unprofessional, hot headed and not true to his word. Horrible advice / service. My X-3 was completely mis diagnosed. They put in a $1,200.00 new starter and got it to start, but then said it had zero power, and it would cost more than it was worth to even find out the what was still wrong with it. I towed it over to BMW of San Antonio, and $895.00 later (relatively cheap for beamer work) it works great, has full power, no lights on the dash, dang near "good as new". Not to mention that they were attempting to trade sexual favors for mechanical works. Quite disgusting. read more

M Technik replaced the charge pipe a couple of months ago. Brought the car in last week for an unrelated repair. M Technik said the seal on the charge pipe was old and needed to be replaced. When I asked them why it wasn't replaced when they replaced the charge pipe, they said they didn't do that. What??? I do not recommend. read more

Stay far away. While I was there waiting for Will the owner to show up a couple came into the office with a legal notice to fix their car by a certain date or release it back to the owners. They had to hire a lawyer to get M-Technik to give them back their car. The legal paperwork mentioned the owner named Will specifically. This worried me. I asked if the owner had a drinking problem and the two men running the office that morning affirmed that for me. They made it sound as if Will the owner had more of a substance problem. The shop could not order parts or start any work because the owner had to be there to access the computer. The office did not have passwords to make these things happen. The entire staff was waiting around for him. Will the owner showed up after 12:30 pm. He immediately tried to extort $250 from me for 1 minute of his time, and yelled at me telling me that's what his time was worth. He broke the latch to my trunk and wanted me to pay him for it, saying he'd keep my car if I didn't pay him right away. The parking lot was completely filled with cars they've collected and not fixed. Will the owner was violent and accusatory. He cursed and called me names. He badmouthed my appearance and my car and told me they were going to drag my car into the middle of Broadway and leave it there. He threatened me physically. I needed to tow my car to another shop and I was harassed violently and scarily until the tow truck came. They even called the cops to try to get me arrested so they could keep my car there. The policeman said, "Why am I here!?" and immediately left. This shop won't be around for very much longer. It was a horrible experience and very frightening. The owner tried to bully me for quick money without doing anything for it. I was calm, respectful and reserved the entire time. I can't explain how undeserved this treatment was. I had money and needed my car fixed. They basically wanted to steal both my money and my car. They've lost their website and the entire shop will be gone soon. Stay away for your own safety. I was in great fear of being physically hurt. I can't imagine what Will the owner would have done to a woman in this situation. read more

I was so hopeful when I found M-Technik. Unfortunately, an M-Technik employee abused my M2 Competition while moving vehicles inside for the night. Dashcam footage shows multiple full throttle pulls and revving, all less than two minutes after the car had been cold-started. Fortunately, my dashcam's event monitor alerted me to the unusual acceleration. I was able to pick up the vehicle the next day before M-Technik performed any service. This is my go-to place for anything and everything BMW. Being a young woman who doesn't know a whole lot about cars (except that I LOVE bmws) I can potentially get *taken for a ride* at a mechanic shop. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice, professional and down to earth all the guys that work there are. They are kind, helpful and really know their stuff. I have a 335D and the check engine light seems to go off all the time, the guys there are sure to break down everything for me so I understand, not only the problem, but what my options are. They let me know what I can leave for a bit longer, or what needs to be fixe right away for either safely reasons or because it will damage the car. They also got a new hunter laser alignment machine that was super on point for aligning my tires. Update 01/31/2019 Just saw these guys again today and they are so helpful and really explain things in a way that I can understand what I need to address and what can wait. This is still my go to for all my Bmw needs.... happy client for a few years now, and still recommend them highly. read more

I have a 2011 BMW 5 series with about 85,000 miles. I LOVE THAT CAR. Would like to keep driving it for a long while. Once my warranty burned off I could not wait to leave the dealership service department. WHY you ask? Here's the start of the list....$$$, attitude, poor communication and more. I've had a few experiences w M Technik. All had great outcomes. Their prices are fair and less expensive than BMW SA. Alex (front man who is Service Advisor) is great guy. Very knowledgeable, follows up, honest and makes things right. Top flight Master BMW mechanics and really dedicated to quality. When something not right...they deal w it. Don't expect the latte and espresso machines, blueberry muffins and strato-loungers in the waiting area. You also won't be paying for that either. Try them. No point in having low prices if the work isn't done correctly. Multiple visits were needed to take care of things that were communicated to them at the outset. Completely disorganized and also poor communication. I'm not even sure I'd trust them to do routine maintenance or oil changes. Any business who repeatedly claims how 'honest' they are is a huge red flag. When there is a large disconnect between how capable and trained someone claims to be vs. how disorganized they are, it's a good indicator of how the service will end up. read more

Let me clarify that this review is strictly based on my customer experience and has nothing to do with any work done on my vehicle (they never gave me chance to spend my money) I walked in on a Friday after work and was greeted my Alex who was with a customer. He said that someone would be coming right back to assist me. So great... I thought and I waited... and I waited some more... and then after about 20 minutes another guy walked in (Juan) and it turned out that according to my request Alex was the one I needed to speak with. So I'd been waiting the entire time for a guy who had no idea that I was there to see him since he was too busy to find out the reason I was there for. Would it have made any difference for him knowing that with what he had going on...? Maybe not... so at that point I think Juan informed Alex that I was waiting on him. Juan told me Alex was finishing up "closing" out a customer and that he would be with me soon. I waited another 10 minutes or so and finally had to give up. I walked outside and found Juan and told him I'd have to come back. He told me to come back during the week as they were usually slower. So I did... I went back the following week during my lunch break (keep in mind... all I wanna do is have a conversation with these guys). Was greeted my Juan this time and he recalled my prior visit and reason for being there. He told me Alex was busy with an adjuster this time. So at this point I handed him my number and asked for Alex to call me and make an appointment to meet with him. This was about 2 weeks ago and never got a call... read more

Had to take my car in when I kept getting messages about my drivetrain malfunctioning, just before a planned road trip out of town. Will squeezed me into his busy schedule, and was extremely helpful. I have a feeling he really has a passion for BMWs, only because he seemed truly sad to deliver the news of what he found my car's condition to be in. Apparently I was given wrong information at the dealership regarding frequency of certain maintenance visits. My office is just down Broadway a few blocks, and he personally dropped me off at work to help me out in a pinch! How awesome is that?! I was able to make the drive that weekend feeling confident that my car wasn't going to break down on the way... There's no reason to take my car anywhere else for service now. These guys rock! Their customer service is the best, hands down! Last week I ran over a dead dog on the highway (couldn't avoid it) and it caused some damage underneath. I dropped by that day and Will & Alex said bring it in the morning and we will check it out. Next day I took it in and turns out the heat shield was bent and hitting the driveshaft causing the noise. I originally thought this shop was going to be different then other misleading shops, but it seems as if i was wrong. My sister first took my car to this shop to get a quote on a repair of my BMW 325I transmission and was given a price to swap it out with a used transmission. They were polite and seemed to be honest to my sister. Then when i got involved, they at first confirmed the price they gave my sister 3 times, then my insurance agent came out to look at the car because i opened a claim for the damage that caused the damage to my transmission. After the insurgence agent left the guy i spoke to on the phone that worked at this shop showed up and i asked if he was the guy i was working with on the phone "by name" he first said "NO" he was not him, and then he asked his tech where did the insurance guy go and when i heard that i said "you are the person i have been talking to " and that i am the owner of the car and i am the one he should be talking to. He then at that time said oh yes i an the guy you have been talking to on the phone. read more
