I had tried many salons in the area…read more I stumbled upon James at this Salon I arranged to come in and meet with him. He was so cordial and professional on the phone. I decided to return today to Villa Di Roma after many years. The original owner ,an Elvis enthusiast , is not there anymore but still owns it. The owner being an Elvis impersonator ,really drew me to the salon over the years. James however , is a terrific stylist, cutter and professional hair professional. There are two other girls in the Salon that do a terrific job as well as that I could clearly see from the haircut styles / cuts that were done when I was there . I had my hair styled and trimmed and it looks beautiful. I will return in a few weeks for color. Note: I had some split ends and James noticed this immediately and he recommended that I have them cut off. I thought that I was allergic to a hair dying product that another salon told me that I was allergic to. My hair had turned orange on top and I got little pimples on my scalp. I explained to James that I may be allergic to a Hair dying product used at a salon I visited a few weeks ago. James immediately tested me and I found out I am not allergic to the hair dye(s) used in their salon. I will return to the salon in a few weeks and I will decide on the color . I will of course consult with James first as to his thoughts on what the best color would be for my skin tone and overall looks. He advised me NOT to do highlights since I have very thin and brittle hair, He advised me that once the highlights grow out, , a gray tone will appear on my roots and near my scalp. He advised me that I will then frequently need a touchup of the roots, which is very costly and is not good for the hair. he advised me instead to do a base color that would fit my skin tone and looks. James has owned and worked in many salons in the Westchester County area and in the Queens area as well. He is highly professional experienced and very pleasant. I give this Salon a Five star "Plus " rating and review., "When you have tried all the rest now try the best " The Salon caters to all men, women, and children of all ages. Signed , a very happy customer.

The owners have zero sense of professionalism. Frankly, it's a miracle they're still in business. We booked multiple hair appointments months in advance for a wedding, with several confirmations leading up to the big day. And yet, on the morning of the appointments, the salon was closed. No warning, no notice. When we called, we discovered the reason: the manager simply forgot our appointments and never showed up--appointments they knew were for a wedding! I have never witnessed such a blatant display of incompetence from any so-called professional. Do yourself a favor: NEVER come here. Avoid at all costs. Due to a miracle we were able to book appointments somewhere else last minute. You live and you learn. I've learned Janeth's Salon is run by someone who would rather tarnish the reputation of their business then stand by their work and craft at the most basic of levels.

From the moment I walked in til the moment I checked out, every person I spoke or dealt with was warm, welcoming & solicitous. Alyssa was my colorist & felt comfortable with her immediately. We discussed what I wanted, she presented the color options, explained how they would look & where they could be placed in the most flattering way. The end result was terrific. The streaks are noticeable but subtle &, despite the fact that blue isn't exactly a normal hair color, they DID blend in very naturally with my blonde base color. I had arrived in horrible weather & a very stressful day but, after looking at myself in the mirror, my mood was definitely more upbeat. I had casually asked Alyssa who she would recommend for a cut as my hair was pretty shaggy. I didn't expect to be seen yesterday afternoon but, knowing that I had had a pretty miserable day, she spoke to Philip privately & asked if he could squeeze me in & he did. I had the same experience with Philip (which is one of the things I liked most about the salon) as both he & Alyssa spent time explaining what they were going to do & why & asking me what my thoughts were as they went along. I felt listened to & heard. My usual haircut is pretty short as my hair has thinned getting older & short hair is more flattering at this point in my life. Philip's cut was a little shorter but it fell beautifully with the longer bangs I wanted along with the tighter back. He listened carefully to what I wanted or didn't want. Between the coloring & the cut, I left the salon a very happy camper. One note of caution for older customers: Static is located in a prewar building with no elevator & a long flight of steep steps to the second floor. I walk with a cane & by the time I reached the salon, I was out of breath. Going down was easier than going up but several people in the salon offered to walk with me to make sure I descended safely. I refused the offers but I felt cared about & very much appreciated that extra step. It made me want to "pay it forward" in the next business I visited.
