Ron's Automotive has saved my bacon twice in the last 3 yrs. The first time was Easter weekend 2012 when the tension pulley on my 2001 Subaru Outback totally disintegrated leaving me and my wife and our 85 lb Chow stranded in Indian Wells. They towed the car, we found a pet friendly room and first thing Monday morning they made our problem their top priority. They found it cheaper and faster to press a new bearing into the pulley and had us back on the road ASAP. Skip forward to last week, while traveling on I-10 from Phoenix we started having overheating issues. For 5 hrs. we traveled in 110* heat without the use of the A/C, to say it was hot would be an understatement! So there we were in the middle of nowhere not knowing anyone I played a hunch and started digging in the glovebox to my surprise and relief I found the invoice from the pulley repair,a quick phone call from out on the road gave them the heads up we were coming in on a wing and a prayer! Upon arriving at their shop they had the problem diagnosed promptly and were shopping around for the cheapest, soonest radiator they could find. And once again made us their top priority and got us back on the road ASAP! All of their work has been excellent and their prices are fair but their service is incomparable! Thanks and just a heads up we'll be traveling back through Palm Desert next November LOL! read more

Predatory towing company. They will stake out a lot and tow anyone who gets called on. And extremely rude over the phone and in-person. Avoid this family-run company like the plague. read more

Very fast response time and reasonable pricing for being on Hwy 74. Great service and I recommend them if you're stranded. They have a nice flatbed and very clean inside. Thank you for great service! read more

On time to pick up my car and deliver it to the repair shop in Indio politely and competently.

Dispatch was terrible. The truck arrived over an hour later than the already long 1.5-hour promised window. On top of that, they tack on a so-called "convenience fee"--which feels more like a penalty for not carrying cash during an emergency. The staff were unnecessarily aggressive about collecting personal information that wasn't relevant to the service. Their tone and approach added to the frustration. In addition to the $6/mile charge, there are surprise add-ons like a "hook-up fee." How else would they tow the car if not by hooking it up? These charges feel like nickel-and-diming during a stressful situation. And if you don't have a wad of hundreds in cash because of your poor preparation, I'm not anticipating a car breakdown you get to pay a "convenience fee" of 35$ for using a credit card. Overall, the experience was late, overpriced, pushy, with worrisome collection even demanding of your personal information. (Beware and be vigilant) and to deal with an unpleasant attitude in the process. Woolf have been cheaper and faster to get a friend to rent a U-Haul trailer and pull you to the shop read more

Amazing service, came before the quoted time they gave me over the phone call, Great communication from Marcelo. Jump Started me as soon as he got here couldn't have asked for more of a great service. read more

What a joke! This place & owner should be ashamed of himself. Horrible experience it was all I could do not loose my s__t. First of all my fiancé car was inappropriately towed which was not his fault. When she called he told her the car was already locked in the garage. That was a lie because the car has remote cameras & we could clearly see the car was still in the truck. She then called the police & he offered to come back but at an additional 140 whenever he got there. Then I showed in the morning I showed him my key, drivers license and a digital copy of the restoration which he refused to take. Demanded the original hard copy one. Then paying yo get the car back at 400 to go 4 blocks. He is a dishonest greedy person who should not be a business owner. read more

My insurance company gave me a two-hour window, but I got a call from Cruz forty five minutes before saying she could be here in ten minutes. This is a family-owned business with great service. I highly recommend them. read more

M Ron's Towing was super fast picking up my car and I didn't have to be there waiting with it in 110 degree heat. They kept me informed all along the towing process and didn't even complain when they had to wait for my mechanic to let them into the shop. I highly recommend M Ron Towing and we'll always use them for future towing (which I hopefully won't need for awhile). read more

Service was non professional. Scratched my car and didn't want to admit responsibility for doing so.

I needed a tow truck to take my car to an auto repair shop. I scheduled through my insurance provider & was assigned to Rons Towing. The driver, Cruz, was great. She arrived promptly, was fast at getting my car loaded/unloaded, she was friendly & able to answer my questions. I would recommend Rons Towing to anyone needing a tow in the Palm Desert Area. Thx Cruz! read more

M Rons Towing - Towing Near Me - Palm Desert, California

An angel emerges! I needed a tow. Although I didn't need a name, the source that I most regard told me to call Ron's Towing. Marcello arrived. Was ready to pull car up. Coming onto 83 years, water bottle in hand, surprisingly, I dropped of dehydration. Being tested for lucidity by the fireman, stubbornly, I would not budge from the present year being 2012, which earned me an all expenses paid trip to the hospital. Neighbors at the location being present, Marcello stayed the entire time. My point: Awaiting the ambulance, Marcello refused to take my credit card. After I picked up my card from the mechanic, I saw that Marcello had not been paid. Credit card in hand, I called. Marcello refused to be paid. An angel emerges. My reliable source, unsolicited, again, gave me a sound referral. Marcello. read more

I called AAA & they sent Ron's Towing to change my flat tire... I asked the service guy if Ron's Automotive & Ron's Towing are the same business... He said yes... I asked because I couldn't find Ron's Towing on yelp... Anyways... AAA said they'd be there within an hour but would try to get there sooner... Not only did they get to me within an hour, but he had my tire changed by then too... :-) He was pleasant, more than on time, got the job done without being clumsy or messy as I had to take the original dirty tire back with me... I wish I would have had a spare towel in the SUV so that the dirty tire could have been placed on that... But he placed it on my rubber mat the best he could being as it's half the size of the tire... Note to self & other yelpers: I will keep a large junky towel in my vehicle now for cases like this & others... You should too... :-) read more

I got to the place to get my towed car and it was in a very dirty place and there was alot of screws and more stuff near my tires also i called before to ask how much i had to pay and they told me it was 370 and when i got there they told me it was 425 the ower was very rude and the place is disgusting read more

Well they really helped me out sense I was in Fallbrook and the "BF's" car was in Palm Desert. They said they would tow it over to the ford dealer. But they drooped it off with out telling any buddy ,its probably customary. They were kwel about the extra mile we were over on our AAA 7 mile radius We think our 2007 ford edge is trash with 48000 miles read more

Great service!! I had a flat tire, on a Friday night, worse girls nightmare, right? So I called, the phone rang once, and within 20 minutes i had someone pull up to my house. Nice man, by the name of Evan. He changed my tire so effortlessly! I would call them first! Thanks Evan!! Ron's Automotive ROCKS!! read more

Marcelo, my tow truck driver, went above and beyond to get my car towed to my destination. I got a special price and it didn't change after seeing a small snag in towing my car. Marcelo had to do extra work, but was constantly polite and got the job done! I was in Palm Springs also. read more

Guy that helped me did the job but literally didn't say one word not sure if he was a mute . They will get the job done but expect no human interaction read more

My gear got stuck and Steve went out of his way to guve me the best deal with great results.

Not that I recommend getting your car towed, but if you do--hopefully it is to these guys! They were great! Super nice and helpful!

Ron did a fantastic job getting my trailer ready on time when I was moving my mom from Palm Springs to Oceanside thank you Ron for the good service if I ever need a tow out of Palm Springs I will be calling you read more

Really rude, and incompetent staff. They assume you know everything about towing. When the vehicle was towed to my apartment complex, the tow truck driver was even worse than the staff at the office. He hit a parked scooter with my car as he lowered it into the parking spot. Furthermore, as I asked him why he did not take it to a parking spot one space over. He yelled at me saying, "I don't fucking have space to park it there". Overall, the experience was undesirable, and left me shaking from anger/confusion as to why I was being treated the way I was. Avoid them at all cost! read more

I had a great experience with Ron's when my car needed towing. I was so happy that I made them my new mechanic. My timing belt was overdue for replacement and I was told that they would charge me about $700 including the water pump replacement. I decided to have the right side engine mount fixed as well. Don't know if they replaced it or repaired it, but when I went to pick it up my bill was now $1200. So I guess a side motor mount costs $400/500? If anyone wants to know where an honest mechanic is the closest one I can find is Idyllwild Garage - ask for Steve. I know it's quite a drive, but it's worth it. read more

AAA tow on a sunday to a repair shop nearby. Quick response and friendly driver. Thanks again!

I highly recommend Ron's Automotive and Towing, whether you're in need of a tow or any mechanical work needed on your vehicle. I've been taking my vehicles to Ron's for more than 20 years. I've also recommended Ron's to many friends and even to guests of the resort where I work. They always call me with an estimate, the few times there has been an issue with their work, they have made good on it immediately and at no charge. In fact, at least half a dozen times over the years when they could find no problems with my car or the fix was very simple, I've been told that there's no charge! How often do you have that happen? They are service-oriented with a good sense of humor, and they try very hard to get their work done as quickly as possible. Their head mechanic has changed three times since I started taking my cars there, but the high quality of service has not. I highly recommend Ron's Automotive. read more

Had a flat on the side of the 10 freeway, called AAA, Keyon from Ron's Towing showed up ahead of the scheduled time, acted fast, and got me on my way! He was fast, courteous, professional, and did a great job!! Thanks Keyon!! I'll use Ron's Towing from now on!! read more

Place is ridiculous. Tow truck driver showed up and then just left us us stranded in themiddle of nowhere. we were stranded for four hours because he rufused to take the call again because he felt unsafe. Meanwhile we are stranded for hours... The cops showed up and confronted me about streetracing, huh that's weird I wonder who called the cops. After complaining to rons towing about the driver they had no care about our situation. Horrible experience horrible service. read more

I was in need of an out of state car inspection on a 65 Mustang that was being offered from a local dealer. Thanks to Steve at Ron's Auto for saving me a ton of money on a bucket of a vehicle! Steve's inspection was beyond detailed and thorough. He took numerous photos of the items he found upon inspection, phoned me to go over everything and emailed over a detailed, I mean detailed report. I can't thank you guys enough for the honesty and integrity, especially when I was out of state and couldn't view the car myself! I highly recommend these guys! read more

This place is a ripoff. The guys in the garage so called fixed some problems with my BMW. Over $1,400 later, I ended up bringing it back to my BMW dealer with the same issues and more. The so called mechanics at Ron's Automotive had lied to me in their diagnostics testing and they also hooked up a new battery that was inferior which caused more serious problems. They refuse to replace or pay for any of the damages that they incurred. Their customer service is served with a fake smile, they get you in with you thinking that it is just that one problem and then it ends up to be some more major repairs. A friend of mine had a similar problem with his Mercedes. These guys need to be out of business. Please be advised that if you take your vehicle in to these people, you might as well throw your money away. read more
