There was no one in the reception area when we arrived so we were just browsing their pretty inventory. Then finally two older ladies came out of the back area- I announced my presence with a "hello" since I was browsing their aisles of flowers and tropical plants and did not want to startle them. I proceeded to ask her about bushes and one of the women acted like she didn't understand a word that I said while the other one just completely walked away. (I am a GenX Japanese American north side Chicagoan and my partner is a biracial black and white north side Chicagoan as well) she was extremely snotty and rude to me like she didn't understand what I was asking her so I took her outside to speak with my partner because I was already visibly upset-so then I asked her "are you Mary? " she's like "No Mary is inside." So Mary was the other rude lady peeking out the door. I'm like thanks but no thanks. Let's go. I asked my partner in the car if it was just me and he said "no these women are rude." It took a 5 minute phone call to describe the set up and color suggestions. They said they would deliver them the morning of the event to Birchwood directly, which was one thing off my plate. Sold. The flowers themselves were so pretty! We left the party with our arms full of gifts and umbrellas thanks to a very rainy night. When I called Birchwood the next morning to see if i could pick up the flowers to enjoy them a few more days they said they had disposed of them. This was super disappointing because the flowers were really beautiful, but of course this was no fault of ArtQuest. They were also pretty expensive, but that seems to be the case with most beautiful flowers these days.
