I hate to leave a bad review because this was my go to head spa I've come to a few times , but this last time was a very different experience. 3 stars for the previous times but honestly 1 star for my last visit. I brought a friend with me because I've come a few times and always enjoyed it and felt relaxed but this time was sooo not relaxing and I was sad my friend didn't have a good experience. We got there in the evening for a 90 min and it began as it always did . I'm not sure why but this time the "massage" chair was horrible!!! Do not come here unless you want to be tortured. I bought a Groupon for a couples 60-minute scalp massage/wash. When we arrived, my friend and I filled out waiver forms that asked for our goals and preferred pressure. I wrote that my goals were a relaxing time and a clean scalp, and I selected medium pressure. After that, I was led to the washing station. I laid down and suddenly a mechanical body massager turned on, which I was not expecting at all. It was incredibly uncomfortable and actually painful. It applied extreme pressure to my legs and feet and dragged them side to side every 30 seconds. After about five minutes of this repetitive "massage," I asked the woman doing my service to stop it. She clearly didn't speak English and didn't fully understand me, so I pointed at my legs and said "no massage." I heard her click a button, so I assumed she stopped it. A minute later, it continued. I was annoyed that she ignored my request, but I decided to just deal with it because I didn't want to come off rude by asking again. Meanwhile, while my body was being tortured, my scalp was being scratched raw. Clearly, we have different definitions of "medium pressure" because I couldn't figure out which was worse, the body massage machine or the scalp wash. I have no idea if she was using her nails or some kind of tool, but all I could do was brace myself. I considered asking her to stop attacking my scalp and just wash my hair normally since I literally wrote that one of my goals was a "relaxing time," but given the language barrier, I knew it would probably be pointless. When it finally ended, I was taken to the blow-dry station. That was the only remotely relaxing part, but my scalp was so sore that I couldn't even enjoy it. Now, you might be thinking, "That's it, right?" Nope. When it was time to show the Groupon, I clarified that it covered both me and my friend since it's listed for two people/couples. Then we asked if we could tip with card. (I honestly didn't want to tip at all, but I figured, whatever, since I'll never be back.) They told us tips had to be through Venmo/Zelle. So we both tipped and turned to leave. But when we tried to walk out, the door was locked. I turned around and asked the lady at the front desk for help with the door. Instead of helping, she said something like, "Only one?" I assumed she meant the Groupon again, so I re-explained that it was for two people. She then clarified, "Tip... only one?" I was shocked. How unprofessional. What business double-checks if both people tipped? Tipping is optional. What if one of us didn't want to? Is that something we'd be forced to justify to her? I told her we both tipped. She said she received mine but not my friend's, so my friend had to pull out her phone, open her bank app, and show that $20 had been sent via Zelle. Again, how incredibly unprofessional. Maybe management should consider paying and training their employees better so they're not so desperate for tips. For context, the service isn't cheap. When you first start, you receive a scalp assessment to compare before and after results. This was helpful in seeing my clogged pores on my scalp, amongst other concerns I had before the session. The front desk staff was nice and was able to help give more information while the other staff member was taking the photos. During the session, you lay in a massage chair and a blanket is draped over you. If you want to feel relaxed, go with the light pressure as the medium may be more hard than what you would initially expect (I chose medium as I appreciate the pressure for my tense upper body). The neck and shoulder massage made the experience even better. I would choose the 90min package as compared to other places, it seems to be a fair amount to charge for the service provided. After your scalp treatment, they blow dry your hair and finish with additional procedures like a high-frequency comb to kill bacteria. Luna was the one helping me and she was attentive and pleasant. Exterior-wise, it's located in a very small plaza and has an equally small parking lot. You shouldn't have trouble finding parking because it seems that there's only one or two businesses that also attract customers besides this one. Treated my boyfriend and myself to the 60 minute viral treatment. Overall it felt relaxing, but we were disappointed by a few things. There was no way for them to send us our scalp assessment results via email or text; they told us we could take pictures on our phones, but it would be much nicer if they could send us the results. Both my tech and my partner's never told us what they were doing and how those tools benefited our hair and scalp health. I had to constantly ask, which became annoying. It seemed there was a language barrier as well, as my tech couldn't really answer my questions well. I have done a similar scalp treatment at another salon where they were great about explaining everything, both during the hair wash portion and afterwards when they used the other tools in the chair at the front. Lastly, we both thought the pre and post scalp assessment felt rushed. The explanations were so fast and it did not feel like we were welcome to ask more questions. My first time at a head spa and i went with my friend. Everyone was very welcoming and the place was clean and very good quality. We received the 90 minute treatmen. First Na Na (i believe that was her name, she was very professional and kind) magnifies your scalp to show you what is good or bad about your head health. It was very interesting to see before and after! Thankfully nothing about my hair was a surprise ha ha Then i was treated to an amazing massage chair/pod (not for the weak! Like everyone now a days I'm heavily influenced by TikTok. This head spa popped up on my fyp and I knew I had to try it out. I took a friend as her Christmas gift because two is better than one. We arrived few mins early and got let in by the staff member( they keep the front door locked). We were greated and asked to sit down and fill out a little form/information card. I did notice that it does ask you if you are pregnant ( for all my friends expecting babies this year) I'm not to sure why but I thought it was important to know. We were sat in front of a screen where the staff member took down our hair and started taking pictures with their ultra cool cameras to se wheat going on in the scalp. It was very interesting to see what they found. They also recommended what kind of treatment you should get from that little evaluation they do. We were taken back shortly after that into separate pods where we were asked to but on the robe and relax in the chair. The chair is amazing it massages you through out the whole experience. I was then laid down and I let the staff member work her magic. Truly an experience I think everyone should have. After the wash and scrub I was taken to schist where my hair was brushed and blown out. Talk about service! I had a nice experience at M Head Spa. I came for my birthday and got the 90 minute oxygenating scalp treatment. They have a special for first time customers, so ask before you go! The scalp treatment here is VERY similar to that of Yangsiguan. I like the massage chairs at M Head Spa more, but Yangsiguan goes the extra mile in terms of hair care and the professionalism of the workers. Nevertheless, I still had a great experience at M Head Spa, but because the prices are so similar, I probably won't be back. I was helped by the front desk worker named Melody and my spa treatment technician was Ivy. They start with a scalp diagnosis with the cameras and their machine uses AI to give your scalp a score (based on several factors). I actually think it's better for a person to do the analysis, for that personable factor, and didn't really enjoy the machine. Afterward, you're whisked away to change into the provided garments and the head spa begins with aromatherapy, and shampooing (almost identical to Yangsiguan). The massage chair did not fit my body length at all - it was massaging my butt and hands mostly. The hair spa includes a head and neck massage, but they don't go far down to the shoulder area at all. There's a rainfall shower, which they keep on for longer than other places, but I don't find it particularly special. Then, they will take you to the front to blow dry your hair, anti-bacterial comb, red light therapy, and put in a cooling toner. I thought Ivy was really nice, but she wasn't great at blow-drying my hair (my scalp felt like it got burned multiple times and I had to move my head around). For the price with the first-time discount, it's alright. I've also been to Head and Scalp Spa in Temple City and so far that one is my favorite. Yangsiguan would be second, and here would be third. The scalp treatment here is not bad, but they have lots of little improvements that can be made. Parking is ample and free in the parking lot. There's also lots of free street parking nearby. They have restroom inside if you need it and a waiting area with snacks - but you don't wait for long even if you come early. read more

I didn't want to write a review but after weeks of pain from my scalp, I think it may help others. I came here a few weeks ago. Had an appointment booked at noon with my husband. We were running about 10 minutes late (maybe less). We called to inform them and were told they can either skip the scalp analysis or go through it quickly. I mean... given the price we rather have a quick run through than skip it. After the scalp analysis we were both suggested to add the CO2 for additional cost. So we did. My husband also added a shoulder massage for me. The wash started off great but after about 15-20 minutes in, it just felt like my scalp was being scraped off by the employee's fingernails. This went on for about an hour. The added shoulder massage was not a massage... having less than 5 minutes of finger running up and down the back of your neck is not a massage. (Also I think it's hard for the employees to even give shoulder massage since you're just laying in the massage chair with your head back for the wash...) I wasn't expecting a full fledge massage but at least some kind of massage? I would definitely not recommend anyone to add that on. In fact, they don't extend the time of the treatment for that add on. After the wash and dry, they showed how the scalp is after. Basically - it was clean. (I mean, as it should be after one hour of scrubbing and washing...) Anywho, when I walked out my scalp was hurting. I was not able to wash my hair for over a week because of how painful it was and sensitive it got. I noticed my scalp was so irritated and bleeding in different spots! I was so shocked. I am on my third week (almost 4) from this treatment, and it's definitely starting to feel a little better. However, my scalp is still scabbing and sensitive. Overall, I would not return. First, while the spa is strict about confirming appointments and ensuring clients arrive on time, that courtesy wasn't exactly reciprocated. It just felt like our time wasn't really respected. Before the treatment, they ask three questions, including massage pressure preference. The therapist even asked early on how the pressure was, and I said, "Could you go harder?"--but she continued with the same light touch. Another issue: When I sat down, the staff informed me there would be an additional $20 charge because my hair was long. This was not mentioned anywhere when I booked. At that point, what was I supposed to do? Cancel and leave? It put me in an awkward position where I just had to agree and move forward with the service. I've been here twice and both times I've gotten the same technician but always forget to look at her name she is usually the first chair. She has a light touch, but also gives a strong head massage during the wash. They provide a gown to change into, but it only has buttons along the top, so I recommend a strapless top/bra for bigger chested girlies or a nip slip might happen they provide a shoulder massage, so you're asked to have nothing on your shoulders. It was my first time getting a head spa and it won't be my last. I'm so glad I chose M Head Spa as my first experience. They helped me coordinate appointments for my friends and I to be done at the same time. We came at 7 and had to ring the doorbell, we came in and were greeted, offered snacks and were seated to start the scalp evaluation right away. The evaluation was quick and thorough. Next we were escorted to a changing room where we put our belongings in a basket and change into a shirt they provide. The staff that assisted me was named Betty and she took really good care of me. She was very gentle and rough when needed to be. Always asked me if the pressure was okay and if the water was good. I really appreciated the communication. I have long hair and she really took her time coming out all of my knots. We got the oxygenated treatment for 90 minutes that included the shoulder massage. I really enjoyed the full body massage chairs and my head and scalp felt so amazing after I left. Very clean space, nice equipment and very friendly staff. My favorite was the water rainfall hair rinse. After they blow dry your hair they take you back to reevaluate your scalp. I bought the $228 experience and I literally slept the whole time lol. I was super tired so getting the head massages made me pass out. Been reading so much on this hair spa hype since I've been in desperate need of finding something to alleviate my itchy, dandruff hair. Scheduled an appointment for Tuesday at 7pm for our group. This spa is located next door to delicious food corner on Valley and parking may be a little scarce depending on the time of day. The lot is shared with other business so come a little early. Vibe is very calming as they play "massage" music and it smells botanical inside. The shop is a lot smaller than expected but it was still pleasant. Can be crowded but we were the last group that evening. You get your scalp evaluated in the lobby which can be embarrassing for some who have bad scalp. Luckily I know I have bad scalp so it wasn't as embarrassing but I know others may not like that experience to be shared with strangers. It's pretty cool to see your hair follicle magnified. They take you to a dressing room to change into and onto a massage chair you go. The massage chair was a little painful for me around the lumbar area as I'm short so my tailbone is a little sore. I like the arms and leg pressure as well. They drape a blanket over you and you get an eyemask. During the washing process, my stylist was very rough on my head. I thought maybe because my scalp had so much damage but my group all said they are a little rough. When youre done, they blow dry and re-evaluate your scalp again. Overall, I would love to return to hopefully help with my dry scalp. Obviously one treatment won't cure the issue but I do hope to help alleviate my dandruff as that is embarrassing. After experiencing my first head spa in New York, I was determined to find a legit back home. Fortunately, I came across M Head Spa from an IG ad and made my first appointment in May with Luna. I am so glad I did because the experience was much better than the one I had in New York. My appointment was for 1pm so I showed up about 10 minutes prior to my appointment so I could have ample time to find parking and the unit of the suite. Note M Head Spa shares a small parking lot with other businesses however, there's a bit of street parking and some parking in the back. When I got to the door, it was locked but there's a doorbell on the side or the door and the front desk person let me know. I let her know that my appointment was at 1pm and she proceeded to check me in. Upon entering, there's a couple vanity's with blow dryers and other hair tools by the front door. Up against the wall are "beds" separated by curtains where clients get their service done. Being my first time, I was sat in chair for my hair and scalp analysis then proceeded to a changing area to change into a snap-on velour tube top. I was then brought over to the station where I'll be getting my head spa done and chose from either a warming eye mask or a regular one. I went with the warm one laid down in the chair where the massage function was turned on and a cozy blanket was placed on the rest of my body. I went with the 90 minute oxygenating scalp wash which included the neck & shoulder massage. The entire experience was glorious! The massage, the aromatherapy, the vibe...was so relaxing and a much needed spa session. Once the scalp treatment was done, I was moved into another room where my hair was blow dried then a microcurrent comb was used and another tool was used I don't remember what it was called lol then once that was done my scalp and hair was analyzed again and I was shown my results before and after the service. I enjoyed the experience so much I came back month after month, each time with a different person lol. I brought my BF's sister the 2nd time and I brought my BF on my 3rd visit. I've been here enough that I'm a fan and will be back over and over again. This was the first Head Spa I've ever visited and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I got the "Oxygenating Scalp Wash" and as someone who loves a scalp massage, this was the BEST THING EVER. The experience: Upon check-in, you get a scalp assessment, meaning someone will take a little want and basically take photos of your scalp and tell you what you're looking at (e.g. hair density, oiliness level, dandruff, etc.). Once that happens, you go get changed into a robe, towel dress and slippers (all provided). You're then led to one of the massive massage chairs where your service commences. I won't go into too much detail here, but it was one of the most relaxing experiences of my life. The only thing I'll say is after your hair is washed, they will blow dry, but don't expect a salon style blow out. They literally just blow dry your hair so that it's dry when you walk out. Once everything is done, they do another scalp assessment so you can see the difference. It's actually really cool. Anyway, I highly recommend this place. You feel like a million bucks! My one tiny con for visiting this business is that you don't walk out looking like a million bucks. They dry your hair with great equipment and in a beautiful environment but they don't style your hair. That is why I only gave 4 starts. If I spend +$100. I want to look it, feel it, know it. We decided to add on the Carbon Spray but don't feel like it was necessary. we did the oxygenating scalp wash 90 minute and loved it! the only thing was it's little booths separated by curtains. when i was woken up by the nice staff (of course fell asleep to their wonderful massage) I saw another customer peeking their head at my sisters booth and the one next to it. so it's not fully private. I didn't feel like my purse felt secure since another person was able to just go in and out and you wouldn't know. they offer snacks, go through your initial assessment in detail then the treatment to end off with a reassessment! My 90 min oxygenating scalp wash felt amazing and my hair was very soft and smooth after however the service overall felt rushed. I was looking forward to the scalp assessment at the beginning and then the oxygen rich serum, meridian brush, and high frequency comb at the end but all felt rushed through. There also weren't products for my textured haired friend. The staff did have a diffuser but the skill and products were geared towards straight, non-textured hair. The spa itself was clean and the staff very kind. They had a deal for 1st time customers and added an additional % off for those paying with cash/app. There were also many details that I appreciated particularly in the quality of the massage chairs and the extremely soft and cozy blankets. read more

Where do I start? I'm in love! I got the $108 package for myself and as a birthday gift for my friend. We both left with the hugest smiles and relaxed shoulders. My technician Nancy took her time, made sure I knew what each device did, and overall made me feel extremely comfortable and pampered. My friend's tech Luna, she says, is extremely attentive and meticulous. We debriefed about it all afterward and we loved everything, the massage chair, the scalp rubs, the shampooing and massages throughout the 60 minutes. 10/10 recommend and we are already planning our next visit! I've been to a few head spas before and heard that this one was good from our friends, so I decided to give it a try. The place is very bright and clean, and the service is very attentive. Reservations weren't hard to make, and they have different tiers of service available. I chose one of the lower tiers at $138 per person to give it a try. When you first enter, they check you in and perform the hair health exam you often see online, where they scan your scalp to identify any issues. After that, you're instructed to change into a robe and lay down. Personally, I really didn't like the massage chair--it ended up bruising my back, but that might just be a personal thing. I would probably prefer to lay down on a flat surface. You're also asked to wear an eye mask to keep the environment dark, but I think I would have preferred just being in a dark room. After the experience, I feel this is more of a deep hair wash spa rather than a massage, which I had anticipated. However, the lady washing my hair did an excellent job deep cleaning it. I opted for medium strength but maybe should have chosen light strength since it was a bit intense for me. When your session is finished, they dry your hair. The lady who worked on me really took her time blow-drying my hair, which I appreciated. This experience was different from the typical head spas I've been to, which are more like massages, but I don't think that's the fault of the place. Overall, I still give it 4 stars, minus the massage chair. Maybe they could offer the chair as an option? read more
