We reached out to Austin Overhead Door Company late on a Friday afternoon due to a commercial door…read morethat would not close. Given that leaving this door open until Monday (normal business hours) was not an option for security reasons, it was critical that we at least get the door to close before we went home. Austin Overhead was actually the 3rd overhead door company we reached out to, and the first that actually lived up to the "24/7 emergency response" claim (the other 2 stated that Monday was the earliest they could come out). I spoke to Bill who assured me he would have someone out that evening to take a look, and not only did they come out as promised, Thomas and Simon actually arrived within about 20 minutes! Next came the challenge of the door itself. Without going into all the steps they needed to close this day, I will simply say that Thomas really knew what he was doing, and he and Simon were able to get the door closed after much diligence, a bit of hard work, and even a few acrobatics! The door was closed and we were able to go home... but it did not end there! Additional repairs were needed that we agreed could wait until Monday when Thomas would have access to more equipment and it would be easier to see what the root cause of the issue was. While Monday was not an option due to a thunderstorm, Thomas was still excellent about communicating with us, and rescheduling for the next day. Thomas came out promptly on Tuesday and was able to fix the door completely at no additional cost! Overall, I want to recognize this company (and Thomas in particular) for their responsiveness, their effectiveness, and their communication. Garage door spring broke, searched online for garage door repair. Found "Dan's Garage Door Repair"…read morein my hometown, Buda. The website was clean and straightforward, listing off the services they provided and some coupons. The site had a handy calendar for online booking of repair services, so I used that, which was easy to do. On the confirmation page, it said to expect a call from the technician half an hour before my selected time slot and that if I didn't pick up, they'd cancel the appointment. I received that call almost three hours early (and subsequently missed the call with no voice mail left), so that was frustrating. However, I did get another call about two hours after my timeslot and that time I was able to pick up the phone. The technician let me know he was enroute to my location. The timing still worked fine for me, so whatever. Eric was friendly and right to the point about the problem and cost. I inquired about the coupon I'd found online for $25 off spring replacement and he applied it to the cost prior to tax. That was appreciated. I let him do his thing. Took under an hour (charged $200 for service and $250 for the parts... a little gnarly if you ask me but not like I have the time to teach myself how to repair a garage door spring, so what choice did I really have?). Came with a 6-year warranty and 30-days free service if something else goes wonky in that time window. (Yeesh, it better not.) They accepted check, so I wrote a check because I wanted to avoid the 3% fee for cards. Apparently, they also laughably take Zelle. Noticed the vehicle the technician arrived in was labelled "Nexa Garage Door Repair" instead of Dan's. Eric was upfront about this; apparently, they operated multiple garage door repair places under multiple names and are now merging them all into one. Dunno how to feel about that. But I guess I don't have to feel any way in particular about it cuz my garage door is fixed and hopefully I never have to do it again. I was specifically asked to write this review on the Google platform, which I did in addition to this one. Ordinarily I do all my reviews through Yelp. To be clear, Eric himself was 4-stars. But the exorbitant pricing and wonky scheduling brought my overall rating down.

He insisted that it was the sensors even though the readout on the opener says that it was "overdriving, force detected". I called on a Friday we scheduled an appointment for Monday between 9-10. And informed me there's a$115 fee. I said ok because I this point I just need the convenience for opening and closing as needed. No one showed up or has yet to even call. I called several times and went to voicemail. This last time I was sent straight to voicemail. called again the next day and straight to VM which is what prompted this review. I'm pretty sure they've blocked my number. This is a terrible way to do business. Especially since your customer service was amazing when they were collecting my money. I'm convinced that maybe the owner sold the business because he even came out to verify the job was satisfactory after the install.
