You are always phoning Brent trying to get fuel, and they will bring you a couple of five-gallon jerry cans out and want you to put it in or nothing, so you go home. The next day you come to work, there will be four cans sitting in your bucket, and they want you to put it in. The machines are never serviced; rubber tracks wear out and break, and they want you to limp the hoe around on one track. They go through a lot of operators who have the same problem: no pay. They tell you they will pay you weekly, but they don't and only want to pay you cash. If it is an hourly job, they want you to go slow so they can charge the client more; warning: stay away from this company.

The first thing that was great about him: he was willing to come do a site visit BEFORE we even OWNED the property. He came out and gave his opinions on how we should access it, and how much he thought that would cost in both time and money. After getting in touch with a couple other contractors who were not as helpful or forthcoming as he was, we had him come back to see what we'd decided (now that we owned the property). He responded within a few hours and came the next day I was available to meet. We had everything sorted and got a time set for him to start work. He came as promised and he and his crew worked hard to get the access road made to specifications of not just the well drillers, but also looking to the future of other heavy trucks being on site. The second thing that was great: communication! Of course I mentioned above that he did great about responding quickly, giving estimates of work, and coming to see things in person. He also made sure to keep me in the loop. When I came to see progress the day after they started work, he was very forthcoming about rules he'd read to be sure we were doing everything right. While it would cost us a bit more in the end, we already had discussed that as an option before. He estimated on the spot how many loads of rock he'd need to bring in and was only off by one load. Richard and his crew did a great job ensuring that the driveway will hold the heavy well trucks and also that they have the area they need to park and drill the well with the level ground specifications they asked for and all other needs met. He has a great wealth of experience behind his work and is very knowledgeable about how the jobs will go, what he may encounter, and even planning for the next steps, what we may need to talk to our other contractors about. I highly recommend Olympic View Excavation for your site development needs.
