She [my mother] is an active 73-year-old woman who recently had the misfortune of learning she had a severe leak in her roof that was causing significant internal damage to her home. Fearing the costs associated with roof repair or even a potential replacement, my mother attempted to repair the problem herself by replacing the shingles. Her 13 yr old grandson recorded her on the roof doing the work herself and then he sent the video to me. I was so proud of her strength and ability that I wanted to show her off to the world. Therefore, I sent the video to the local news stations with the hope they would run a story on her. Once WDBJ7 broadcast her story, Cenvar Roofing management saw it and stepped in immediately, offering to take care of her situation at NO CHARGE to her. From the moment that Cenvar associates stepped foot onto mom's property to the day they completed the roof repair, she said "every crew member was friendly and treated her [job] as if she were a paying customer". Additionally, the associates saw that mom's home did not initially have gutters or downspouts either. Management decided to surprise her with brand new gutters and downspouts to ensure mom's house would not experience any follow-on damage due to un-channeled rainwater. Today, my mom [and stepdad] are over the moon and love the work that Cenvar Roofing did for them in their time of need. She admits that she enjoys watching the rainfall now and seeing it flow from her roof to the gutters, down the drain spouts, and away from her home. They also gave me three different levels of repair with the corresponding quotes for me to choose from, which was great. On the day they were scheduled to complete the work, I came home to find that they only did 1 of the 2 gutters written on the quote. What followed was a series of frustrating phone conversations and arguing with their administrator (who was adamant they completed the work as quoted), the manager (who was claiming the same thing), and finally the person who quoted the job that backed up my claim. The quote ended up being misread by the installers and manager on site (despite them commenting to me with confusion as to why I wasn't replacing the other damaged gutter). They ended up having to come back and do the second gutter without any cost implication to me. The installers did great work with the replacement gutters, and I'd recommend them due to the quality of work. However, I would suggest making sure the work on the quote is clearly written and understood with the installation group actually doing the work.

We had the Construction Marketing team bid and do the work on our dock at Smith Mountain Lake. It…read morewas a major renovation with a lot of different aspects that included electrical, woodworking, and cabinetry. We had the ceiling installed, removed the boat slips, replaced the decking with Trex, boxed in the columns, lighting, and fans installed and a bar with appliances and kegerator put in. They were the most expensive of the bids we got but based on our interactions and seeing some of their other work, we had confidence in them and decided they would be the ones we went with. Due to the COVID crisis, it took longer to get materials and crew in place than our original schedule, however, the work they did was fantastic. The decking required a lot of precise cuts and detailed work and the project foreman, Jason, and his team did a great job. Of particular concern was the integration with both our irrigation system (the pump is in the attic of the dock) and the wireless system for the speakers and they offered creative solutions which have been well-implemented. Throughout the process, they were very sensitive to avoid damaging landscaping and grass and always cleaned up after their work each day. Any issues that came up were dealt with quickly and efficiently. For example, when materials were delayed and wouldn't make a schedule deadline we set, the job foreman, Jason, jumped in a truck and drove to the plant in North Carolina where they were being stored and brought them back himself. I was pretty impressed with that. Jason played a key role in making sure everything not only met my expectations but exceeded his own high standards. I can attest to the fact that Construction Marketing made every effort to make sure the job was done the way we wanted it. I'm very happy with how it eventually turned out.
