While staying in a boutique hotel off the Republic Square neighborhood, our jetlag caused us to…read morewander the street at unholy hours of the night. Hail Aux Petit Tonneaux, open when no other cafe/brasserie/bar was. Seriously a godsend for jetlagged travelers.
Despite being open such late hours, the service is always friendly, professional, and you can feel assured that they'll take care of you. When there are clearly inebriated customers, them employees take care of them, too.
The food is your typical cafe fare, and pretty decent. Nothing to write home about, but it will fill you up. Especially if you're feeling peckish for some chips after a few drinks.
Speaking of drinks, this place has a great selection of Belgian ales. On draught, they've got Leffe, La Chouffe, & Edelweiss. We also tried an interesting, tart bottled lambic , Morte Subite Kriek.
Solid joint. If I lived here, I'd probably become a regular.
