Just don't expect a long walk akin to, say, the Town of Lockport Nature Trail. The highlight for us was the cat tails (or corn dogs, according to my sons) and the turtles. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

The walk is lovely and along the water most of the way. Well groomed, although they recent storms have resulted in some downed trees/branches blocking the path a little. All easily navigable. The Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center is a cool little spot. The staff are super…read morenice. Inside the center you can hear wildlife sounds and learn what to look for. The standout for me was this amazing topographic map where you move the sand and it updates the contour lines live. I wish I had that when learning maps. They also run a bunch of events... I've done a luminary walk and an owl prowl, plus there are eagle nest outings and birding stuff. The gift shop is small but nice. Overall, if you're looking for a good nature outing, this(and the other sites they manage are great. Swallow Hollow is my favorite trail, but the whole area is awesome.

Going over the rickety bridge is quite the adventure. Lots of times in Sundays you'll see small ethnic celebrations going on. It's definitely one of the quieter parks around. The trail leads you down the shore up to Broderick. I highly recommend riding your bike over the turning bridge and to the other side and heading out the Broderick side with the draw bridge

This is a great four mile long bike path about a mile outside of the Village of Lancaster. As it…read moresits where train tracks used to be, it is open on both sides so most of your walk will be in the sun but there are some nice shaded stretches. We saw a few lazy groundhogs and a hawk, I feel like this could be a great area animal viewings. There are some nice water areas as well. The path has markers every 1/4 mile to make it easy to track your progress if you don't want to walk the 8 mile round trip. Parking was easy to find at the trailhead but is limited.

Finally made it out to a couple of other trails, and I'm making up for lost time. I've been to Swallow Hollow twice in the past few weeks. It might be closed at the moment. I thought Google Maps was just mistaken, but when my son and I reached the boardwalk going counter clockwise, we had to cross a couple downed trees that broke part of it. Didn't remember there being a bad windstorm after my first visit. Anyway, it's a 1.3 mile loop through marshland and forest. Very pretty. You can easily hit more than one trail in the area for more of a challenge.

During my most recent visit there were plentiful eastern phoebes & woodpeckers. I love the raised walkways. There were a lot of downed trees but workers have cut them and gotten them off the trails.

Seeing the Niagara River winding towards the Lake is stunning, the blue/green line snaking its way through the gorge. It's a small area at the edge of the gorge with a bench and guardrails enclosing it. A nice respite spot, you may even see eagle's soaring along with the gulls and Turkey Buzzards that frequent the skies there.

On most clear days, even distant Toronto at 37miles away, is very visible! No trash bin is available here, so please leave nothing but memories, and if you enjoy a drink/snack, please don't trash this tiny little scenic spot! This is a pretty big park with lots of green and lots of little fields. There is a path that cuts…read morethrough the fields and is a good for a nice walk. When my husband and I were walking, there were a lot of kids playing basketball or little league in the fields. They didn't have a restroom accessible, but they had a porta potty next to the street. I would say this is a nice park to go for a 30-minute walk when the sun's out. :)
