We call the Lehigh Memory Trail a "bike path". I'm sure everyone has its own description for this place. It's just a narrow area with an asphalt walking path lined with many varieties of trees and bushes on both sides. Every season provides a beautiful setting for walking or riding a bike here. The Williamsville Depot is the main focal point and an interesting historic structure. I believe different kinds of public events are hosted here. Also, some time ago, there was even a vegetable share located here which was really cool. Let's enjoy it as it is now because before long this place will be much more crowded. According to the news, this fall a developer will start building townhouses just next to the path. The new development will contain 30 units which could mean 30 more dogs going for a walk here regularly.

Taken last November- still lots of leaves on the trees!

Paved trail great for riding a bike, walking your dog, roller blading, or more! There are garbage cans along the trail as well as a few benches. It's a short trail, about 1 mike round trip. There's a parking lot for the trail on S. Long st. At this entrance there's an old railroad station, a box car, a caboose, and some grassy space good for a picnic. The trail starts here and ends at Cayuga st. You'll often see photo shoots taking place here as it's a great spot for it! The trail itself was a railroad track and paved over. The railroad depot was constructed in 1896 and is only one of three original mainline Lehigh Valley stations that still exist in New York State in their original locations. If you're interested in the full history, visit the website.

A friend and I came here tonight to go walking. It's a hidden gem, just off of Main Street, in Williamsville. The paved trail is about a mile in length. There was some interesting wildlife. (Just a few squirrels canoodling and a bunny.) The trail has a few benches and has many trees with memorials in front of them. The paved path is nice and wide, so you can pass people or give them more distance. You're definitely not right on top of people. I'd love to come back here to go walking soon. It's a great spot.

Such a beautiful hidden path in Williamsville to take an evening stroll, walk your dog, or check out the tree blossoms that line the trail.

Love this place!! My…read moredog has a place in the city where she can walk around and explore off-leash. She is not very playful, and pretty shy/introverted, but the other dogs are usually friendly and we don't really have any issues. I'm kind of annoyed that they're doing construction at Lasalle park now. The barkyard wasn't perfect, it was essentially just a fenced in patch of grass with some benches, a water fountain and a few trees, but that's really all you need. I'm not sure how long it'll be closed for construction, but i hope it turns out well!! They currently have a temporary dog park nearby, but it kinda sucks. Anyways, the barkyard is (was) usually calm, quiet and clean. Grass was moderately maintained and people picked up their dog poop for the most part. I also love that its in the city, where there arent a lot of places for my dog to run around elsewhere. Yeah, 5 stars! Hopefully it opens up again soon!

The Barkyard is essentially functional for what it's meant to do: give you a place to run and…read moresocialize, respectively, your under- or over-thirty-pound dogs so that they go to sleep when you get home and you get some peace. Or maybe that's just me. There's a sort of airlock front entrance and then two large, fenced-in areas based upon the size of your dog. Water pumps are provided and the fencing is tall and well-maintained enough around the perimeter, so unless you have an insane climber or jumper, your pup should be securely contained. The groundskeepers do basically the bare minimum, so while the grass stays cut, some occasional filling in of the holes the dogs dig would be appreciated. Caveat emptor, and all that, lest you break an ankle. The extra bag station is often empty when it is not littered with used bags by people too stupid to follow instructions. The latter point is worth expanding. People at the Barkyard are typically cool, and you'll make friends with the other childless misfits you gravitate towards when you eschew human offspring. But there's the rub: there's no budget for a lifeguard here, so compliance with the rules is all voluntary, and at least 30% of the people there feel that they are at liberty to exempt themselves. You want to run your big dog on the little dog side because he's "gentle"? Sure--what could go wrong? You want to bring your unfixed akita and then ignore him while he gets in fights? Just dogs being dogs! This is all true of humans with human children as well, I suppose. In fact, I know, because people there break those rules, too, letting small children run around despite written instructions to the contrary, leaving you to have to make sure that your dog doesn't get too close to their precious angel darlings, the latter of whom are, of course, not supposed to be there. Short version: it's fun and free but you have to deal with illiterate or obstinate humans. I guess that's free stuff for you? Parking is usually abundant unless there's a lot of baseball going on at the adjacent diamonds. There's a portable outhouse. Bring a jacket if it's borderline--it's 5-10 degrees cooler, as the park is right on the river.

Ibiza's where Mike took a pill And the rents around here…read moremake me ill But if they make you wince Just marry a Prince If the Harrys won't, Williamsville! Since the last time I reviewed this (18 months ago), this has basically been where I have spent the vast majority of my time. My gym is here, and I'm literally there from 3-5 hours every day of the week (can you tell). My tanning salon is close by (once a week, hi boys). I frequent several grocery stores in this area. I eat at Woo Chon Korea House at least once a week for their Yuk Gae Jang lunch special ($10) which is now by far the best Korean dish in the region since Seoul Garden closed down. I also hit up the amazing homestyle Chinese stuff at China King (Maple & N Forest) on a weekly basis. I ate a zillion times at Pita Gourmet, too, before I started grilling my own Chicken after finding out they don't give their tips to their employees (and I know other places around here that don't, either). Also I played soccer here once a week for years before I realized it was only causing me pain from exacerbated injuries, and making workouts harder. Barbie wants my body to be like the Atlas Mountains, and when my hamstrings and ankles and knees and groins are throbbing with pain, it's hard to work on that for her - and I'll do anything for her. She's been to W-Ville too... she waited at Starbucks while I was seeing my original WNY romantic partner (that I moved here for) at her work. The DiBella's here is pretty good. The Paneras are both iffy. There are some pretty nasty attitudes around here. Sweet Jenny's has great ice cream at both locations. There's a stunning waterfall here (and I don't mean Barbie). Anyway William just died so I need to go and see what he left me at the official reading of William's Will. My original review: If this were named Ricky Williamsville, everyone would be high on cannabis (rather than painkillers and anti-depressants). Thankfully it's not, it's merely Williamsville, which is more affiliated with the Patriots than Williams' Dolphins or indeed the Bills. You'll find out why later. I really love little Williamsville, it's adorable. It's like a smaller, friendlier, more manageable version of Amherst. Technically it IS Amherst, but whatever. Yes, it's a bit expensive and yes it's a bit fancy, but if you want to live in a suburban, fancy, friendly, safe, decent-smelling area, and not be too far from the city, W-Ville is where it's at. Plus Rob Gronkowski is from here. Don't tell me that you don't secretly get off on the fact that he is from here every time he scores yet another touchdown to destroy the dreams of Buffalonians just a little bit more. OK maybe not, but anyway. If I wanted to live closer to Buffalo (I live in the countryside now), this is where I'd probably live. It has everything a little cute American town should have... a lovely main street... lots of nice food options... good shopping options... friendly people... sometimes... plenty of greenery... and lots of people on painkillers and anti-depressants. There's plenty of nice noms here too, like Spices Of India (best Indian lunch buffet and amazing Garlic Naan), and Sweet Jenny's amazing Ice Cream, and of course Rachel's Lebanese is excellent too. Some excellent Buffalo-style pizza (Mattina's), and some nice back-road routes to avoid traffic (because Main Street through W-Ville is a nightmare). Nearby Marco's (Maple location only) has the best sandwich in WNY (the Sinatra... trust me, try it. One of the best in the country), and China King & Wok n Roll both have some excellent authentic Chinese dishes as well as the usual americanized stuff. The former is cheaper. The latter has bubble tea on weekends. Anderson's has its best location right in Wville, try the Beef On Weck, the Chicken Tender sandwich, and the custard. There's a Ted's on Transit (get the Polish) and La Divina has a location there now too (amazing tacos). Pita Gourmet, also, is nearby, as is The Pita Place for more Lebanese stuff. So lots of delicious options for you. And if the Bills won't satisfy you, maybe the Williamswill.

All the little shops are trying to be open, they all have hours clearly posted on the doors; they all have masks signs posted and are doing their best. Williamsville has created a few public parking places which is a really smart idea because it gets people into the area and it makes it easy for them to stay. The streets and the lights are all nicely managed and maintained, making for easy driving and walking experience both. Update 105 2021
