Loveee Dr. Violetta! She's the absolute best. She took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel so comfortable and heard. I'm so grateful for the care I received. Thank you so much!! read more

I'm being generous with 2 stars, if I had reviews this place after my appointment I would have given 3. I too notice the condescending office staff-one specific young woman had a negative face and attitude the entire process-check in or out. The other girl at the desk even made a remark about it. I actually loved the dr. I felt comfortable enough to be vulnerable and explain my health issues to her. She agreed to order some tests for me as I am waiting to see an endo and needed some extra tests to make sure I'm ok At check out I told the negative office staff woman that some things were missing on the blood order-she condescendingly said "the dr decides what tests to run" as if I'm not a 44 year old woman or am paying for the tests. But I said no problem-the dr was nice I only need to come here once a year. No issues Been a week and a day since they took blood. Got my results on quest and they were not what was asked for and I'm not used to quest blood work taking so long. Usually it's 3 days. Been testing once a month for years now. I called confused and crying. I was upset that they didn't order the correct tests. I got the same unhappy negative young woman and she was caustic, defensive and not helpful. Asked to speak to the dr. The dr within moments made comments about "how angry" I am. I asked her not to assess my mood while I'm hormonal and crying. I wasn't angry. So I don't need anyone trying to tell me what my feelings are when I'm aware of them. I hadn't cursed, been rude, nor disrespectful. Just a hot hormonal mess-and this is the gynecologists office-so one would think that they would be more sympathetic. Dr told me she can't help me and I can look for a new dr. Cause I was upset. About something she cleared up rather quickly. No one was interested in helping me with my emotions-that have nothing do with anyone in the office-but hormones! They wanted to be reactive and defensive and make things about themselves. This is not the care I'm seeking I am involved in my care I am paying for my health insurance and all bills I don't need a young woman half my age gaslighting me and telling me the "dr orders what she wants not what you want" as if I'm not even a factor in my own health care. By the end of the call I stated that I hadn't been angry, I was upset and obviously emotional as I was sobbing on this call-which is embarrassing as it is-that I hadn't been rude or disrespectful and yet you have decided you can't help me and I shouldn't come back. So then I peppered in a few fucks. Cause that was really unnecessary. Don't go here. The reviews are correct. read more

My first time here and the wait time was great, the triage was seamless and the time the doctor took on educating me and providing the utmost care i was speechless. The doctor and her staff provided me with what i was needing with no judgment or being dismissive to my health situation. The doctor gave me my options and worked out a treatment plan with me and so far so good, i am very optimistic and would recommend her to all my family and friends. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Violetta Lyra's for many years and have always found her to be extremely professional and approachable. I feel very at ease during our consultations. She works collaboratively with me to address my health concerns. Additionally, her office staff are both pleasant and competent. Appointments run punctually, and I appreciate that she respects my time. read more

Amazing experience!! I tend to hold everyone to a high standard (maybe because I am a law student, hahaha). I can honestly say Dr. Lyra and her staff exceeded my expectations!! I went to see Dr. Lyra for my yearly check-up. During my visit, I shared a concern with her, and she took care of it immediately. She was so kind, took the time to explain everything, went over consents, and did a small procedure. My previous OBGYN told me to ignore the situation, but it didn't feel right, so I am so glad I switched to Dr. Lyra. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Even during the procedure, they asked if I wanted one of them to hold my hand! (So kind!) I am so glad I switched! If you are looking for an office that is kind and genuinely cares for your well-being, then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Lyra and her staff. YOU WON'T REGRET IT! read more

I don't understand the negative reviews Dr.Lyra's office is getting. I have been going to Dr. Lyra for over 20 years. She delivered my 2 children. She is the nicest, kindest person to deal with. I've also dealt with all the different employees she has had throughout the years and I have never had an unpleasant experience. read more

If you are looking for a gynecologist this is not someone I would recommend the office staff consistently shown an unfriendly environment and short with answers. The office policy is to leave a deposit / not just a office visit fee and if you have insurance and it covers whatever procedure you are having they still want a deposit. Some red flags to watch out for and look elsewhere. read more

I would give zero stars if that was possible. I literally have never met a worse group of employees in my life. Terrible customer service. Incredibly unfriendly. They did not even greet me. Sophie at the front desk clearly does not understand customer service as the front facing employee. She was incredibly rude and confrontational to my guest and I, as were her other coworkers that handle incoming patients. Very condescending!!!! I am not sure what skills are required here, but good service, understanding, and customer assistance will never be obtained as a customer here. DO NOT GO HERE (unless your in the mood for major attitude and pretentious women)!! There are so many better gynecologists or oncologists in the area. read more

Bitchy attitudes with a side of Gynecology. They were so rude, did not use the word please once. Gave nasty faces, the TV was playing so loudly, and waited an hour for an appointment that was already booked. So rude. I would not recommend. Do not ever go here. I wish I could give them zero stars. read more

Absolutely disappointed at the lack of professionalism, I have been going to them for years and never had any issues. I changed insurance company recently and they made a mistake and sent my lab samples to the wrong place. Now I have a bill for 1,200 dollars and I have been calling them at least once a week because they don't even bother calling you back and updating you with the status. Never going back to this place again. Please save yourself the trouble and find a different place. Melissa has been nothing but careless about my situation. No apology, no communication from her at all. I even tried emailing them instead of calling to not be a pain and she can't even send a simply reply. Ridiculous!! read more

I came here for the first time today and other than the 15min or so wait time, everything was great. I left my other GYN of 8 years because on several occassions they had me wait for over a hour, and I had to walk out a couple times. So 15 minutes wait here, was not horrible, besides, I was a new patient and was filling out forms anyway. The staff and nurse were great. Good conversation with the nurse, and the GYN was very friendly and helpful and asked and answered questions. I wish I had discovered them years ago, and not when I walked out of my old GYN's office for the last time because I waited over an hour, yet 6 pregnant ladies came after me and got seen. But I honestly would recommend this place. Everything went well. **Thumbs up** read more

Excellent experience all around with Dr. Lyra . She is listed in the Aetna portal and I took my daughter and myself to see her. Dr. Lyra is excellent; very thorough, patient and takes the time needed. Unfortunately, I just got off the phone with the worst experience of my life with her office staff. I felt like I was at the free clinic in downtown. I di not get her name, but according to her she was the only one in the office and extremely rude and disrespectful raising her voice and out of line as a professional representing Dr. Lyra. I have to say that I will not be going back and neither is my daughter. I have cancelled future appointments because I do not want to deal with people that are so vulgar. I do not have to feel like I am being treated as if I was at a free clinic. Her staff needs to learn office etiquette, after all they represent her. Very unfortunate. read more

Excellent experience all around! Dr. Lyra was recommended by my doctor, and I am completely pleased! Dr. Lyra is excellent; very thorough, patient and takes the time needed. Definitely would recommend! I read some reviews complaining about the staff, but I think that may have been an issue in the past. From what I've learned, Dr. Lyra had replaced her staff, and from my experience they all are fantastic!! read more

Dr. Lyra Violetta practices Obstetrics and Gynecology in Aventura, Florida. I was looking for a Gynecologist near home and she was recommended. I went in for my annual pap and check up. The overall visit was very quick and rushed. I wanted to ask questions, but she didn't seem interested. You know what, at that point all I really cared about was getting my results back and that everything was normal. Thank goodness, everything came back clear! I wasn't super excited about my new gyno, but didn't care as I didnt have to see her again for a year. Fast forward to several months, to be specific this past Friday when showering I found a very noticeable lump on my breast. You can't imagine how terrified I was the whole weekend. I was looking forward to Monday morning to call my gyno and schedule an emergency appointment. First thing this morning, I gave her Aventura office a call and explained to them what i was going through and how nervous I was. I begged her to try to get me an emergency appointment as soon as possible. I got an attitude from the girl that schedules appointments and she notified me that my emergency wasn't important enough to schedule for a couple weeks if possible or more. I explained to her that this was an emergency and to please help me, she told me to go to the emergency room. I asked her in a very sarcastic way if she was serious. She said no and said that she couldn't do anything. When a person feels like their life is being threathened by a foreign disease you look forward to working with a doctor that will give you security that they will do anything or refer you to the correct specialist. Instead I got nothing. It will be the last time that I see this doctor. I understood from today that a patient of her isn't really important when having an emergency. Side note: I called a few other gynos until I found one that saw me today. Dr. Elias referred me to get a ultrasound done of my breast and will get results on Wednesday. Hoping and praying that everything will be okay. read more

I almost didn't go to this doctor because of the reviews. However, I took the time to check other review websites for doctors such as health grades and vitals and she actually has a high rating. So I decided to go see her and I'm glad I did. The office looks brand new and it's very clean. The waiting time varies depending on the day but it is usually 20 to 30min. Sometimes I'm out of the office in less than that so it really depends on how busy the day is. It also depends on the type of appointment. I think the pregnancy follow ups are appropriately quick. It is true that they are closed during lunch. The last time I went I had to wait in a bench downstairs but I was seen by the Dr. immediately after they opened so that's not totally bad. If you don't like to wait outside then do not make the appointment right after lunch (2pm). I haven't had any issues with the staff. Andrea is very professional and courteous and the two ladies at the front are also nice. I have also observed them how they treat other patients and I haven't seen any rude behavior. I'm glad I went to see this Doctor. read more

I love Dr. Lyra she takes time to explain everything and does a very thorough examination. The best gynecologist I have been to in Miami.

I've had an unpleasant experience with this office twice. They have the worst staff that I've ever encountered. They are very rude and condescending. Such a shame because Dr. Lyra is actually a good doctor. Hope she finds out how her employees treat her patients. I'm not coming back to this OB again read more

I wouldn't go to any other gynecologist...the staff is friendly and I felt very comfortable with Dr. Violetta...she spends whatever time is needed and doesn't rush thru to get to the next patient read more

Dr. Lyra has been my gynecologist for the last 8 years or so. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I'm surprised to see some of these negative reviews, as the office staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Lyra is very knowledgeable and has the BEST bedside manner. I'm very comforted by the fact that she will be delivering my baby. read more

Office staff will make your experience unpleasant. Save yourself the billing insurance headache and go somewhere else because you will be calling day after day to get billing fixed. After admitting their mistake they will fix one mistake but not the other because of laziness and time it takes to call the insurance and fix their mistake. Not worth the hassle go somewhere where the staff will go above and beyond when they make a mistake. This all falls back on the doctor and the way the staff is managed. read more

Was a patient for over 10 years and I agree with others about the rude office staff. My blood pressure would go thru the roof every time and I would have to have my primary fax over bp results from their office that were normal. I finally had enough and changed doctors. Funny thing is I had several abnormal Pap with her and had several expensive tests done a couple times, changed to new doctor and haven't had an abnormal one since which I find very strange. read more

The office staff is very and i really mean unprofessional and rude, when the nurse drew blood for testing, i was left with a huge bruise for a week after, this has never happen before with me. All in all i will not recommend this facility to no one. The doctor was not very considerate to my problem, and I felt no reason to continue my treatment with her. read more

Dr lyra is the WORST WORST WORST gyno doctor and any kind of doctor that I have ever seen. She is both unprofessional and HORRIBLE to deal with. Her staff is as HORRIFIC as she is. I guess they see how their doctor treats her patients so they follow her example. She told me that I ask too many questions. Well it is my body and I believe I have the right to know. The trans vaginal ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound that she ordered both came out negative, so WHY do I need a more invasive pap smear procedure was my basic question OF COURSE I would NOT let her touch me or even go near me. Just for the record my original pap smear was done by a visiting doctor from Vero Beach. Dr Fyffe was fine. This 1st and only appt with dr violet lyra (she should be renamed dr "weed liar", that would be a more accurate name). I have NEVER EVER WRITTEN a NEGATIVE REVIEW FOR ANY DOCTOR but I felt it was my duty to forewarn other patients!!! I have read other reviews which are ALL NEGATIVE and many other people want her license pulled. I vote for that. I think being a garbage collector would be more her style!!! Then garbage would be collecting garbage. read more

I am 8 weeks pregnant looking for an OB GYN, but when I called this Dr. to schedule an emergency interview/ visit because I have been experiencing spotting for over a week, the Dr. Wouldn't even consider seeing me unless I first committed to deliver with her. Obviously I couldn't commit to using her for the entire pregnancy because I had never even met her, but being that she was in my area, and I needed to be seen immediately by a Dr. to make sure the baby was ok, I would think that morally, a Dr. would accept to see a potential client. I even offered to pay out of pocket for the visit because the unfriendly assistant on the phone complained that the Dr. wouldn't get paid unless I delivered with her. Understanding that the issue had to do with her getting paid, I assured her I would pay whatever she charged to make sure my baby is ok. The girl on the phone made it clear to relay the message that the Dr. didn't care if I was paying or not, having an issue witg my pregnancy or not, they didn't want me as a patient unless they knew they'de get paid for delivery in the end. Greedy, rude, immoral, and dissapointing. The other review of this practice doesn't surprise me one bit. I've never been handled in such an impersonal way by a Dr.'s office. Guess it's all about the money for Dr. Lyra and her unfriendly workers. read more

What a rude staff! Dr. Lyra is always rushed and doesn't like it if you question things. I can't emphasize enough how extremely rude and unprofessional her staff is (Mimi in particular). The person who answers the phone even refused to give the doctor a message to return my call...a call from an established patient. I would definitely not recommend using this doctor ever. The whole staff should be fired, they are ruining her practice but apparently she doesn't seem to care much. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

What a horrible office. I asked if the doctor was running late and they told me No that usually wait time is an hour to an hour and a half. At which point I asked her to reschedule my appointment because no one told me that and another receptionist tells me that I came early and that's why I'm waiting. Which still 30 mins after my appointment time which was an 45 mins accounting for my "early arrival" horrible horrible staff never going to a doctor who isn't courteous of keeping appointments and timing. Very disappointed read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a doctor's office. The staff is rude, they don't care about anything, they deliver results unprofessionally and with an attitude. When you ask questions, they have no answers. When I asked to speak with the doctor after results were delivered by an assistant, they tell you she is too busy and will only speak with you after you've made another appointment, three weeks later! During the initial visit, she and her staff were judgmental and gave their personal opinions. No one called me to report results and only gave me the results over the phone after I called over a week later. Can you give less than a one star review? Worst, least professional doctor ever!!! Stay away! read more

I feel obligated to praise Dr.Lyra after reading the negative comments posted. I have never had a problem with the staff. Dr. Lyra is extremely professional, explains everything as she progresses, & gives the most thorough breast exam I have ever had. I am a nurse & know what the standard of practice should be. Dr. Lyra is wonderful. The only reason I rated 4 stars & not 5 is because sometimes the wait to be seen can be delayed. She did an outpatient surgery on me years ago & I trust her completely. read more

The worst office staff ever!! The girl is so rude on the phone. I've tried to book an appointment with this doctor and not only is she only available 3 days a week, its usually not till 2-3 months from the time you call that you can see the doctor. I'm soo turned off by the uncomfortableness of the unmannered office staff, that i will be canceling my appointment and not even bothering with this Doctor. I believe a ob/gyn should be your most comforting doctor and one you can count on for any matter. Hopefully the doctor will one day read these reviews and fire her office staff telephone girl, and perhaps spend more time with her patients according from what i read from other reviews. read more

I went in for a specific follow up and procedure ... being new to the area and a cancer survivor... the staff in the front office ...mainly the woman that handles insurance... was incredibly rude to me. They lock the door during their lunch hour and if you show up early...they leave you standing and waiting in the bleak little hallway. Three of us were there... one in a wheelchair. I tapped on the door to no avail. There was no reason they couldn't have let us in to sit knowing we wouldn't have contact with them til after their break. When I asked them to advise patients when making the appt not to come early...I got the rudest comments back and was literally raising my voice to this horrible woman. The office is small and a chair was broken with no sign or warning...I had to warn a woman not to sit in it. Terrible experience...never again!!! read more

This has to be one of the friendliest medical offices that I have ever dealt with. From the time that I made the initial call to schedule my appointment up until the time that I called to receive my test results. After I had scheduled my first appointment, I started reading reviews about this office and became a bit skeptical as to whether I would keep my appointment or not. The person who scheduled me was so kind and patient (completely contrary to the negative reviews that I had seen) even though I had to reschedule twice due to work conflicts. I saw Dr. Fyfe on my first appointment and he was absolutely wonderful. I never felt uncomfortable at all, nor did I spend a long time in the waiting room. I needed to go back for a second visit and saw Dr. Lyra that time. Never was she impolite or rough with me at all during my procedure. I do not have a single negative opinion regarding this office or the people who work there. It was clean, which is very important, and I will definitely continue to go there and recommend this office without any hesitation at all! :) read more

i have been going to Dr. Lyra for 4 years now. The only reason i go there is because it is close to my job. they are under staffed and they over book always!! i have never gotten out of there in less than 2 hours for just an annual visit. There is lady who works in the front and she is the rudest person i have ever encountered in any dr.'s office ever. An OB's office should be staffed with sympathetic and kind people and honestly i am surprised she still works there! I will be calling to speak with the Dr. and let her know that because of this rude person she continues to employ that i will be going somewhere else. read more

I was a brand new patient when I first met Dr. Lyra for an annual physical. After waiting an hour I was finally called in by the medical assistant. The medical assistant then placed me in a room for the usual questioning before being seen by the doctor. While being questioned, another medical assistant from across the hall started a conversation with the initial medical assistant about food & gossip. This normally wouldn't bother me, however, the initial medical assistant continuously stopped what she was doing to carry on her conversation with the second medical assistant and was unable to do both at the same time. At that point I honestly had a bad feeling but nevertheless, I remained pleasant and didn't say a word. After being placed in the exam room, I met Dr. Lyra. Dr. Lyra was initially incredibly pleasant & welcoming. Next, she started the physical exam which I had previously done countless times, all of them being done smoothly, comfortably, (considering) & without any problems. I found Dr. Lyra to be incredibly rough and a bit all over the place. After remaining pleasant and essentially keeping my mouth shut the whole time, I nonchalantly noted that I didn't recall it being so rough and lightly laughed to keep it lighthearted since I almost always keep my mouth shut when uncomfortable & never say anything, despite truly feeling traumatized by the whole exam. To which Dr. Lyra unapologetically responded (and with a smile on her face), "Well maybe you should go back to the doctor you've previously done them with." I am completely and utterly flabbergasted at how rude a doctor could be to a patient. I believe that ALL doctors should make their patients feel comfortable and at ease but most especially at a gynecologist. But if you don't mind waiting an hour, being continuously interrupted mid-questioning by staff so they can continue their conversation about yogurt & cheesecake, & a doctor who seems could care less about your comfort level, feel free to make an appointment with her. read more

The worse and rude people i ever saw in my life. The girl in the office took my insurance card without knowing (or done to take my money) that the doctor was dismissed from First Health insurance from 2009. They charge the insurance $ 410.00 for an injection of Gardesil, in any other clinic cost $ 130.00, for the medicine, but Lyra charged 255.00 for the medicine, $ 150.00 for a visit she never did, and $ 35.00 for give the injection. After the insurance refused, she told me that I will have to pay $ 279.00 the same as the insurance pay, I protested to my insurance and they were in the process to pay her anyway's when the VERY RUDE GIRL from the office called my wife treating her to send the bill to the collecting agency, they never send me any bills, when i called her back, she was the one that screwed up all, she told me that I was very annoying. How this doctor can have RUDE people working for her? I wish the insurance did not pay the bill so i could complain to the BBB for the money that she steal from people and the insurance and the rude people that she has working for her. read more
