I decided to start going into the humane society to get some kitty therapy(wasn't really planning on picking one up.). I still had my two boys but my cat I lost was special and it left a little bit of a void. I went back a couple times for a few weeks and then one day there was an intake that was a little ball of energy that I just had to play with. But since he was new they were still figuring out his temperament so he was not available for meets. Went into my work weekend and I saw he went into regular population to where he could be played with on my work Friday. Had a friend that was going with me on occasion to see the cats. I woke up on my first day off to a knock on my door, She adopted the cat for me and it was a bit of a shock at first but he's been the most beautiful fit for my household. Don't shop, please adopt. So many amazing animals out there

Lou came out from under a couch and stole my heart. He's an 8 year old boy who was surrendered by his family. How can I leave him there??? So he came home with me. Here is the part I never expected: they've called to check in on US. they send surveys out at interval to see how things are going. They alway answer the phone if there's an issue. They support the families who adopt pets. I love the kind staff and I love what they do for these animals. Please adopt- don't shop.

I am so happy that we can give back to the community as a family here. Thank you SPCA for being open minded to families. Being volunteers we get to see a bit of the behind the scenes, and let me tell you, everything is labeled, thoughtful, super clean and well kept. It's is actually quite amazing! Their facilities are quite nice as well. We love looking at their display board of how many animals they have adopted out that month. I wish more people took the time to volunteer for the community and for the animals. It is something I cherish and want to instill in my kids. Thank you SPCA for allowing this to happen.

The team at the SPCA was truly understanding, compassionate, and supportive throughout the entire process. They made something so heartbreaking feel as smooth and gentle as possible, and we are beyond grateful for their kindness during such an emotional time. Wish if our situation changes we could get him back but there's a form that I had to sign saying they might not do that (very hurtful). There were a lot of tears today, but we are holding onto hope and praying that Tyson finds a loving, safe, and happy forever home. We trust that the SPCA will do right by him and help place him with a family who will love him just as much as we do. Tyson will always be a part of our hearts.

At Washoe County Regional Animal Services Dispatch (WCAS) and management what I continue to find frustrating for years is their lack of knowing their job description, the laws they are to enforce, basic manners, basic business skills, basic communication skills, and their below average intelligence. The latest failing of WCAS is the increase of unleashed dogs not only in our neighborhood but also at the parks. I have recently observed three attacks by unleashed dogs upon walkers at the park, and four attacks by unleashed dogs upon leashed dogs at the parks and an unleashed dog in the neighborhood attacking one of my neighbors who was walking to the park and twice unleashed dogs in the neighborhood attacking my neighbors leashed dogs while walking their leashed dogs in the neighborhood. Washoe County Regional Animal Services Dispatch refuses to take a report or do anything about it. Why? Because the violations of Washoe County leash law and dog attacks are taking place when Washoe County Regional Animal Services Dispatch is not open. Washoe County Animal Services is REQUIRED to enforce various laws related to animal ownership, care, and control, primarily outlined in Washoe County Code Chapter 55. https://washoecounty.gov/animal/faq/ Taxpayer funded salaries at WCAS are at https://transparentnevada.com/salaries/search/?a=washoe&q=animal+services&y=2022 P.S. Don't message me because in spite of several complaints to yelp, for years now I am unable to open up any messages in yelp to me :-(
