Fried were definitely undercooked but I don't generally eat French fries so all good. Cole Slaw was middle of the road. I struggle with a rating but sticky floors, sticky table along with a few environmental things really drag down my overall perception. She grabbed our water and coffee order and took off like she had somewhere to be, which, as it turned out, was right back at our table. We both ordered breakfast, because there are some things in life you don't overthink. Now, I dearly love country fried steak. Somewhere in the Good Book there's probably a footnote that says it's acceptable for breakfast, lunch, and supper. I was already feeling pretty good about my decision when Ann reappeared, unannounced, with a plate of hot biscuits and apple butter. No upcharge, no "would you like to add that for $3.99," just biscuits like God and Dan Evans intended. I have not had that happen in years. One bite of that apple butter and I was suddenly 20 years younger, back when Cracker Barrel was new and my cholesterol was lower and the world seemed a little less complicated.
