Stopped at a hotel in the area and found this local restaurant offering outstanding specialty pizzas and Italian dishes. We ordered a small pizza to go and it ranked right up there with the best NY pizza and comparable to what we had in Italy. The price was as good as the pizza! Although we didn't eat there, the place was very inviting and we definitely intend to go back for a sit down dinner on our return trip. The Aegean has some of the best pizza I've ever eaten! My husband and I always get a large half Super Steak (sort of like a Philly cheesesteak) and half Greek pizza. We live about 30 minutes away but it's definitely worth the trip to get pizza no one else has. Also, the cannoli and baklava are the best I've ever had!! read more

I gave the Aegean Pizza restaurant a 3 star review! I don't like Greek spices ! I got a rather nice looking hamburger steak to go. It also came with fries! Being fair to this place ; many people in Gaffney,S.C. absolutely love the Aegean ! I suppose that a person has to acquire a taste for Greek food. I could only eat half of my entree. The fries were even seasoned with some kind of Greek tasting salt! But conversely; my wife enjoyed her meal! The very same thing that I got! Exactly! In summation: The Aegean Pizza would get a 5 star review from my better half and most of the people in my town! Although it is in the town which I have lived for eleven years, yesterday (7/12/19) was the first time I ever visited Aegean Pizza. A co-worker and I went there on a whim, both first time visitors and we both left agreeing that we would return. We were seated quickly and the service was quite good, given the locality (I will explain that momentarily). A lot of things on the menu looked good, but having never visited, I made the safe choice of a small pepperoni pizza, while my co-worker chose a sub of some sort. The food was really, really good! Have you ever visited a place, taken one bite and decided that you would come back? It doesn't happen often, but it did in this case. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling through this area. Now, I mentioned locality earlier and here is why that matters. This is a relatively small town and as someone who runs a business here, I know all too well that good help can be hard to find. One of our favorite places to go in town for everyday type food-Greek and Italian. I don't eat wheat, so I always get the Greek salad with chicken which is a very generous size for the large and loaded with lots of good stuff including Kalamata olives and feta. My husband loves their pizza and pasta dishes. One time I ordered the gluten-free pizza crust which I don't recommend. Fair prices, decor is OK but I wish they would paint the ceiling. Good pizza, however the restaurant needs a major face lift starting from the chipped plastic glasses and ending with unraveling carpet and awful looking bathroom with the sign "be careful this toilet wobbles...". I received the salad with a very small cup of ranch dressing. I had to order another ranch which cost me .40 cent extra. The waitress brought me a small lasagna and one piece of garlic bread. I asked if I could get one more piece of bread and that was going to cost me .75 cent more. Just wow! If you're ever in the Gaffney area or hungry while on I85, near exit 92, stop here! I had the chicken souvlaki with roasted potatoes and it was simple and delicious. Aegean Pizza you saved my day! I'm always on the road and when it comes to finding a good spot to eat, it can become difficult. I've ordered from here quite a few times and have to say it beats any chain Italian. The dish of choice is the ziti with 5 cheese extra sauce; everything taste great. I'd skip the salad though, it's pretty much just Kraft dressing on the side. When the owner is there you'll probably get some really good food, but when he's not, it can be a bit disappointing since sometimes the food comes out on the lower than average side.
