Just plain horrible! Ordered spaghetti and meatballs, What i got was a big plate of pasta without enough sauce to even get it wet. After Church one Sunday we took a ride here. The place was packed so we had very high expectations that the food must be good here. There was 4 of us. I have to say it must be very bad when all 4 of us order spaghetti and none of us liked it. I couldn't eat mine, since I make homemade sauce and My Moms is so good I was expecting very good sauce or authentic sauce like the Italians make. Its a shame it was so bad. We couldnt believe all the people there. It was really jammed , if you have been to boiling springs if you drive through and blink you would miss it. So I guess people eat here because they don't want to drive anywhere else for better food. We would never go back and try it again, not worth the ride. This is the first time that I've had an opportunity to dine here. As many times as I've been through Boiling Springs,N.C. I've never even noticed that this restaurant was here! My daughter suggested that we have lunch here as she had frequently eaten here before and found that the food was good. I ordered a pizza special that came with two free drinks. Of course I did this on purpose so my daughter wouldn't have to pay for hers! She had a baked chicken fettuccine Alfredo and said it was delicious! I had a hamburger pizza.My pizza was huge 15 inches of the most mouth watering cheese that I've ever tasted! When the pizza arrived at our table I immediately requested a to go box! The tomato sauce was quite good; but not excellent.The crust was cooked perfectly but not quite delicious. I'm taking away 1 star because there was very little hamburger topping. The service people are wonderful here! Friendly, knowledgeable, and very interactive with their customers! Oh; but I wonder where they got that fantastic tasting cheese? For Mother's Day 2021, mom wanted her special meal here. It had been awhile since we've eaten out because of the lockdowns and regulations. The ambience was welcoming and relaxed. The place was packed and people were eating and having fun. We were greeted by a nice host wearing her mask, as were all staff. It's great to see but I wouldn't rate any business based on mask wearing, only on their food and service. If for instance a wait staff member pulled a mask down to get fresh oxygen or even removed their mask, I certainly will not get upset. Life is restarting again, normality is slowly returning, it's time to embrace it. If people need more time for safety reasons until things are more back to normal before eating out, then certainly they should stay home and order take out or delivery. I ordered a large thin crust pepperoni and a tossed salad with a tea. Mom ordered the Italian Garden Combo Dinner consisting of 'Marinated grilled beef tenderloin and marinated chicken tenderloin, served with dinner salad, pita bread, steak fried, and our tzatziki sauce', and a water. The salads arrived crisp and fresh tasting and the thousand island dressing tasted very good. Mom stated her salad tasted wonderful. The tea tasted good and not overly sweetened. We both enjoyed our salads and the waitress refilled our glasses twice without any need to ask. There was a short wait, but not overly long and soon the main courses arrived piping hot. Pizza has always been a favourite so I have very discriminating tastes concerning how it tastes. The pie had a wonderful cheesy pepperoni smell but the real test is the taste. As I bit down into the chosen slice my taste buds were very happy! The sauce was great and pizza cooked just right. The crust had very good texture and taste. Fresh dough was definitely used in making this pizza. It was a great pie overall and I took leftover slices home and enjoyed the rest later. Mom really enjoyed her dinner and said the tenderloin beef and chicken both tasted excellent. She also commented on how great the pita bread tasted. She visits other Italian restaurants in her area and likes Italian Garden versus the ones near her in South Carolina. They had great service and the staff made sure we were taken care of while there. I showed my appreciation with a nice tip for the waitress. This is a great Italian restaurant with a down home type casual experience located in a college town and it's worth visiting. We had a wonderful time and will be back and I will definitely be ordering take out pizza! :) read more

This place has really gone down. The table and floor was sticky. If you call lettuce on a saucer a salad you don't expect much. The baked spaghetti must have been cooked yesterday and reheated. It was cold in the middle and the pasta was one large clump. The sauce was bland. read more

Salad was nothing but lettuce on a saucer smothered in dressing....no cheese, no tomato, no anything but lettuce. Spaghetti came out with 1 piece of garlic bread (burnt), no parmesan cheese available. Entire dish was COLD....like refrigerator cold. Confusing because it took half an hour to get the food. I was offered another plate but declined when the guy next to me said his was cold too. Seemed the solution was to throw it in the microwave. The service was up standing and our wonderful waitress was very attentive and always made sure we were topped off. Just ate there last night after maybe 3 years. We both ordered the grilled chicken salad and pita bread. While the grilled chicken was wonderful as always our salad was the size of a side salad, basically an eight inch shallow dish of bag lettuce which was dry and brown. Not sure how this place has a 4 star rating... maybe from the past patrons when it was great. So different now.. ordered sweet tea which tasted like it had been made 2 weeks ago.. but waitress said it was just made fresh but maybe the "container" made it taste different .. I think that means it was not cleaned. I have dined here for over 20 years but think it is in decline now since the "family" opened the new place up the road... which is why we had no wait at peak time. I left here and got a taco from taco bell which was much more satisfying. Very nice for a small town Italian place! The parking was very spacious, and the atmosphere was nice. Very large booths giving penty of arm room. Our waitress was quick to ask for drink orders and the orders themselves came out fairly quickly. When the waitress brought the drinks, she brought soda refills with them! The four of us had Chicken Alfredo, Alfredo Fettuccini, Veggie Sub and Ham Sub. All of us enjoyed it and got plenty to eat! The fettuccini's came with garlic bread. The servers were very friendly, keeping tabs on how things are going and kept our drinks full. Nothing to complain about. The prices were very reasonable considering how much we got. The restaurant location has an interesting history. The building once was home to a movie theater for the town. You can still feel the decline as you move to the back of the restaurant where the films must have been projected. The restaurant was packed at a Thursday lunch. I had the gyro and an iced tea. Service was polite and attentive. There was always someone coming along to fill my tea. As for the gyro, it's definitely the best gyro in town. The Italian Garden is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner. Lunch specials last until 3:00, so it's great for starving Gardner-Webb students who have a class during the typical lunch time. It's also a great place for family, friends, or anyone, really! The food is great, and it always comes out piping hot. Their salads are wonderful, and they make a great Italian dressing. Inside, you might think the restaurant is oddly shaped, particularly the ramp that essentially separates the restaurant into an upper and lower half. An interesting historical tidbit... the building used to house a movie theatre! When I think of that, the place seems even more charming and unique. read more

Great food with reasonable prices for the quality and portions. We drive 45 minutes with mouths watering as we pull into the parking lot. My wife rates their spaghetti as her all time favorite and I simply love everything I choose off the menu. If you're looking for fast food prices, of course you'll not find the dollar menu here. At first they gave me a roast beef sub instead of veggie sub for my carry out. I had to drive back. They were staring at the wrong sandwich in amazement and they could really care less about it. Then they made me the veggie sub. The veggie sub was really bad. Not enough mushrooms, onions that were not cooked well, the bread was not very good and the cheese did not resemble cheese. The inside of the sandwich was soggy. I had to throw away part of the sandwich, it was so bad. I have had the same sandwich there before and before every single thing in the sub was different...the cheese, the onions, the bread, the mushrooms,... In fact, it used to be really tasty. They probably changed chefs. I talked to the manager and then to the owner. There was no desire on their part to correct the problem. I will not eat there again if I can help it. read more

Italian Garden is the local favorite. The parking lot fills up pretty much every evening. I've eaten here twice. The ambience is wood panelled "we don't really care", the service friendly but indifferent, and the food poor. The pizza is notably worse than Little Caesar's (to give some perspective), the gyro isn't remotely Mediterranean, and the various meats and salads I tasted never rose past mediocre. We've been here twice, having moved to Boiling Springs a few months ago. We try to support local business. So the first time I had a chicken pizza, the pizza was good, though I didn't like the chicken, it just wasn't flavorful. My daughter had stuffed shells which were good. The last time, yesterday, I had a cheese pizza, it was excellent, though light on the sauce. I had asked for extra sauce. Extra toppings on a small pizza were supposed to be .99. On the bill it was 1.99. This is the only place I've seen that charges for extra sauce as an extra topping. And twice as much? My daughter had Mushroom Fettuccini. It was extremely skimpy on the sauce so we asked for a bit more. $2.99! For a little dish...? Crazy! It wouldn't have cost that much to add chicken to it. The service is excellent. Garlic bread is excellent. The best Italian dressing I've ever had.. I'm a firm believer that dining out should be enjoyable. I don't skimp if we are enjoying a good meal. However, I also don't enjoy being nickle and dimed when enjoying dinner. Put enough sauce on a dish to make it nice. If someone asks for a bit more, so what? Good customer service causes repeat business. I doubt we will return, unless it's just for a pizza, but there are other good pizza places that don't charge $2 for extra sauce on a small pizza. That just isn't good business. Sadly, they also have good liking desserts, and last night when we were in a dessert mood we thought about going for that.
