We ate here on early afternoon Saturday March 28, 2026; there was an equestrian event this day, it wasn't very busy in the restaurant (5 tables?). Very relaxed atmosphere. There was only one person managing the kitchen by himself, and he was excellent with tossing pizza dough, running back to the fryers and plating the food for the waitstaff. It was a little timely for our wait, however, it was well worth it!!! Kudo's to the cook! Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food received. read more

We have been to Tryon International Equestrian Center a few times, but this was the first time we tried their Italian Restaurant- Campagna. We ordered the mozzarella sticks to start. It was refreshing and surprising to see huge homemade mozz. sticks instead of the frozen regular kind that most restaurants will serve you. So these mozzarella sticks were a cheese SENSATION! I had the pizza margherita and he had the chicken alfredo. Both were delicious. Service was good and since we were there early, it wasn't crowded. We will come again to this restaurant for our next visit to Tryon. read more

First time eating here. Appreciated Campagna being open on a slower Mon. Nice menu selection and the food was really good, but disappointed w/ the temperature as our pasta dishes were barely warm. SERVICE our party of 10 came in and there were only 4 small tables who already had their food and no one sitting at the bar. We had to get up twice just to ask if we could get a server. I ordered the chicken Alfredo, which came with a trip to the salad bar, which was adequate at best. My friend ordered chicken tenders with Parmesan fries. We've eaten there before and been pretty happy but the last time was really disappointing. Service was good but everything was really bland. Steak came out with no seasoning. No salt. No pepper. No butter. Nada. I could have done better at home. Same with other meals. Not sure if there's a new chef who's more conservative with spices but I don't know if we'll go back. The area where this restaurant is a great spot! The location was nice and not busy at all when we went that Friday evening. We got the lasagna which my husband liked but said the sauce tasted weird or off. I had the linguine and meatballs and I have to agreed that the sauce wasn't of my tasting. I probably wouldn't order the pasta again due to that sauce, also the meatballs were a bit burnt on the outside. We also ordered the linguine with shrimp and my father in law loved that would recommend it. My mother in law and I also shared their margarita pizza which is brick oven made and was very tasty. I've wanted to eat here for quite a while. I love Italian. The decor is nice enough and we had a little wait. I realize it it's located at an Equestrian venue and there were a lot of competitors there. It was very very loud. The service was ok but slow and the food a bit lack luster. The server took quite awhile bringing our change. It felt like she hoped we'd just leave but we included a nice tip and wanted our change. She did not seem happy to be there. First time on the TIEC campus, chose Campagna for Sunday lunch. Chicken Caprese sandwich and Chicken Alfredo were very good and we have plans to try the wood fired oven menu. Big takeaway was our waitress Raylin who made a very good meal so much more. She was not only courteous, helpful and attentive, she had a pleasant personality that left us knowing we should go back. Lacy at the bar is Awesome, really takes care of everyone and knows her regulars. Don't know how she maintains personal interactions with so many people and makes it all look easy. Pours a strong drink too. Food is above average, but far above average compared to restaurant options outside of the equestrian center. read more

Great new restaurant in the area. This was our first trip to Campagna, it was a very good experience. The service was top notch. We were a table of six, we ordered a couple appetizers that were a good size. They have numerous gluten-free options with pizza crust and pasta. I ordered a wedge salad with a side of meatballs, these two combined were more than I could eat. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We will certainly go again next time we are in the area. read more

We have been here a few times. Always delicious. This last time, we got the New York strip and a pepperoni pizza. The chef, Jonathan, did an amazing job! One of the best steaks I have ever eaten. The pizza was also one of the best in this area. It is made in a wood burning stove. The bartender, Lacey, is friendly, funny and also did a great job! First visit and probably last. Ordered a pasta dish that included 3 nice size meatballs. The dish lacked flavor. The meatballs were not tasty and the sauce was bland. Other diners at the table ordered linguini with olive oil, spinach and tomatoes...very small portions....almost kid serving. Okay, I'm not an expert in Italian food, but I am a lasagna snob. I make the best lasagna I think. We went to this equestrian place for my wife's obstacle race and needed something to eat that was filling. This was the perfect place!! They start you off with some oil and herbs with their bread. The combo was too sharp. Too many herbs overpowered everything else. The better combo is light on the herbs and maybe throw some balsamic vinegar to balance it out. I ordered the lasagna and my wife got a wood fired baked Margherita pizza. Let me tell you... the crust was crisp, thin and amazing. The tomatoes tasted like they were prepared earlier in the morning and the sauce was evenly sweet and savory. I believe the cheese is the star of any pizza and it was well balanced. Not full fat mozzarella if I remember correctly, but it was good. This is what a wood fired pizza should be. No pictures but the reason is because it was gone before we knew it. We thought the restaurant was so good that we came back the next night and my wife also tried their "linguine" pomodoro which was actually penne. It had a light sauce with cherry tomatoes that were not overcooked with fresh herbs and a touch of Parmesan. She got shrimp added and she thought the serving was generous and filling. I thought the sauce was light, but her palate is different than mine she prefers light flavors. It was a great plate. Now to my lasagna that I got both nights. I first noticed that there were very thin layers of lasagna noodles. I couldn't count but it seemed like there were like 7-10 layers. But there was a decent amount of ricotta and mozzarella and sausage mixed in. Each bite had a great fresh basil finish. Overall, this has been my favorite lasagna entree over any other restaurant I've been to. The only problem was on the first night, I thought that the serving was huge. So much I had to take half home. The next night was half of the first night. Also, going back to the "linguine." There seemed to be some inconsistencies with the menu. There's nothing wrong with the food, I just think some polishing up might help. So, just be aware of that if you go here. Lastly we had the tiramisu. My wife is a tiramisu connoisseur. She said that the cake fingers were great, but they must of missed putting on any of the liqueur on or their style is to leave it off. We weren't sure about this , but it was good enough. It wasn't as delicate and didn't have a traditional tiramisu flavor. Overall the atmosphere reminded me of a large cafeteria. I guess during peak season, they need a lot of seating. But that gives me pause since both times we went, they weren't that busy. And if there were some inconsistencies with our experience, I wonder what would happen if they were busy. Besides that though, the food was great and I would go there again and order the same stuff. It's a must experience at Tyron. read more

I'll tell you why this place rocks ...since spring 2019. It has to do with passion. We've come here twice so far. Both times, my wife and I went when nothing big was happening at TIEC - no crowds, easy seating. First time, March 2019, we sat at a table with another couple, one of them a discriminating Italian. All of us were positively struck by the flavors, freshness, presentation and service. My wife reported her Eggplant Parmesan entree was fabulous - this from an EP aficionado. The apps and entrees were delish for all 4 of us. 2nd time, April 2019, my wife and I sat at the bar and decided to test this chef's depth - we splurged by going multi-course. Opening with an eggplant puree with whipped parmesan cheese (what?!), a definite theme of unique and scrumptious held up thru the glazed pork puff pastry app thru the greens/fruit/nut salad & delish dressing thru the (pic) beyond-description salmon entrée (and my wife's EP repeat) thru the gelato impregnated by bits of fruit, chocolate, vanilla in each of the 3 flavors (awesome idea!). So, what we discovered was this cuisine is incredible!! In the course of our Campagna experience the 2nd time, we met Chef Walker, who'd recently moved from Campagna's big brother next door, Legends, as their sous-chef. As Walker described his unique creations, it was clear his knowledge, innovation and passion were inexhaustible and were the reasons for how everything at Campagna was fabulous. It is passion that separates "excellent" from "very good" and passion is often in short supply. This chef has passion in spades! He is truly creative, innovating unique and scrumptious dishes. BTW, the regular menu rocks, but definitely look at the white sheet of specials that day. My wife and I have come twice - we'll be coming more times. I really think one day we'll say we knew Chef Walker when he was as Campagna. Simply cannot say enough good things about the culinary experience at Campagna Italian Cuisine. Just finished dinner at Campagna. We have enjoyed this restaurant several times. Today it was busy and a vibrant atmosphere. We both had salmon dishes that were cooked to perfection and pasta lightly sauces really well accompanied the main. Service was excellent. Really enjoyed our server and I hate I didn't get her name. Went here while at a horse show at Tryon, and did not have a good experience. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and almost gagged when I tasted it. It was SO salty that it was hard to eat, which is not an overstatement as I like salty foods. I am still thirsty 2 hours later from eating this and can still taste the salt! Finally had to yell at her to get her attention and she acts like she is so bored with our existence but she does take our drink order. After over an hour we are finally seated and sit there and ignored again sat a good 15 minutes & flagged someone down to see if we had a waiter. Dinner in Dec 2016. Friends enjoyed the fettuccine. However the Marinara sauce on my spaghetti was the consistency of tomato paste. I understand there are thousands of ways to cook Marinara sauce- this not for my liking. So we returned in April 2017. Wife had the fettuccine entree with gluten free pasta. I had the fettuccine entree with regular pasta. Portion sizes of the pasta was ridiculously small. Smaller than our first visit. As cheap as pasta is I cannot fathom they would serve such small portions? My wifes GF pasta was not cooked. Served hard and returned immediately. An Italian restaurant that cannot cook pasta has some serious issues. Cannot comment on the other menu items. We really would like to see these restaurants succeed as they are local to us and have few contemporaries in the area. read more

I will start with there was an hour wait which turned most people away but we decided to wait it out and was so glad we did! The food was incredible and the staff although completely in the weeds remained friendly, extremely helpful and keep smiles on their faces the whole time. Seems to be understaffed for WEG crowds. Hostess station poorly managed. Line out the door and folks are waiting 10+ minutes just to get on the wait list.
