Last stop on my drive from Charlotte to Louisville to Atlanta and back to Charlotte, I hit up this QT to fill up the car. As much as I like the QT concept for convenience stores, I opted not to head inside today. Clean, wide pump area. This station is located next to I-85 on the south side, so it's easy to get off the highway and then back on to head north towards Charlotte. There was no litter in the parking lot and the station was generally tidy. Receipt printer worked and there was a good squeegee. I'm a fan! QuikTrip continues its expansion into the state of South Carolina with this QT, store number 01120, in Gaffney, SC. After living in Atlanta for over a decade, I have grown an affinity for this chain. I stopped by this QT on my way from Georgia to North Carolina on Interstate 85 on Saturday night. I asked one of the store employees when this QT opened and she told me three weeks ago. Earlier this year, I stopped at the QT at Exit 21 (Liberty Highway). It was brand new at the time, May 2012. The two stations have an almost identical build-out. This QT is located at Exit 90 (Gaffney), the same exit as the Gaffney Premium Outlets. It's located on the opposite side of the highway from the outlets. There are 24 (!) pumps. Most QTs only have 12 pumps. The store is big, bright, and clean. It has plenty of staff, fresh, hot foods, and cold refreshing drinks. The restrooms are clean. The staff is friendly and looks professional. The pumps are clean and there is plenty of space in between them. There are even picnic tables outside. There is also a separate set of pumps for big rigs. I paid $3.129 per gallon of premium fuel on Saturday. Regular was $2.829. I'm pretty sure those are among the lowest fuel prices in the country. We had already made the decision to buy gas in SC since the price of gas is lower due to a lower gas tax Stopped at this QT at the main Gaffney Exit on the South Side of I-85. When visiting some friends that live in Rock Hill, SC I generally stop at this location, because, well, because its QT the bathrooms are clean, they have crushed ice and the worker bees always greet you with a hello and a smile. This is probably one of the larger QT's and it has a "kitchen" where you can get fresh baked pizza and a variety of sandwiches. I've been at the location at 3am and 3pm, and each time the service was superb and the gas was cheaper than other places. Less than a 1/4 mile off the exit. read more

For the price that I am paying for a large Carmel cappuccino with cool whip, Carmel, extra Carmel, extra sugar. There was not even a hit of Carmel or sugar and the girl mixed it in the wrong size cup. Hardly any cool whip for she ran out. Did she not have another can of cool whip that she could have finished my drink with? At least with the little bit of cool whip it help with the bitter taste. Came in looking for something to eat on our way home. As I was getting Mom a pretzel, I saw the advertisement for a Grilled Cheese BLT! Mom loves BLT sandwiches so, of course, I got one for myself and I got one for her without the cheese. We were not disappointed. It was after 10 PM and we were happy customers! Mom said the cinnamon & sugar pretzel was pretty good as well. I must say, this is a great option to have on the menu. It's sort of a light snack/meal that won't make you feel like you overate, especially given the time of day. When I want something but I don't know what, this sandwich will be a great option. BTW, the staff members were attentive and all chipped in to get customers rang up at the registers as quickly as possible. Great training! read more

Bill W is right, it's the cheapest gas between Charlotte and Atlanta. I usually stop here when I'm traveling for work. Get gas, a snack, stop across the street at Starbucks for coffee, and I'm on my way. It's right off the highway, and not hard to find. I had a "seatbelt emergency" with my 5 year old while driving back from Gods Country (Clemson) to Charlotte. I saw the large "QT" sign like a beacon in the nighttime sky. We pulled in and once the emergency was taken care of we decided to go in and stretch our legs. WOW is about all I can say. The QT's I've been to have been pretty consistently awesome. Plenty of drinks in the cooler and the fountain. They also have the wall of slushies which my daughter decided to get a kids size Melon Berry for $.75. I will quote her comment on how it was since I didn't try it (I don't need the sugar) "It's like the most delicious watermelon ever". Says it all doesn't it? Anyhoo. This is the worst QT I have ever been to. There is confusion around the pumps with that amount of people there and then inside it was dirty and the staff was very unpleasant. We got gas and then went inside to get ice cream. We ordered the ice cream, the screen says get the receipt but there wasn't any. Asked the staff behind the counter that the printer was out of paper. They said go to the cashier and just pay. We did that and then Returned and mine was ready but not my husbands and it was next to be done. You can see the board with orders and we noticed his was still on it. So we waited and waited since the had to refill the machine. We then noticed a gentleman come up and place an order and get the attention of one particular staff member and said hello, they chatted and the. She made his order, gave it to him without him paying. We watched him head from the counter out the door. We then asked where our order was and we we were told someone took it. Which was not true since it was still on the board and we stood there there the entire time. We told the man behind the counter his order was in the board still and never made and never cleared. He said he made it, but we watched the entire time from ordering to paying and back. I dont appreciate people lying. Just say sorry I forgot Will not return ever. read more

In the middle of nowhere South Carolina I was suddenly in need of gasoline and a bite of something sweet. I saw the giant sign from the highway and pulled off in what turned out to be Gaffney. There were 2 sets of pumps - each one easily had 10 pumps. A large convenience store inside with clean bathrooms, courteous staff offering to help me find what I needed (found a fruit juice that would hit the spot) and such an array of chips, drinks, candy, etc) that I think everyone could find just the right thing they needed or wanted. I'm glad I stopped here (at only $3.19/gal) and filled up as I will remember it next time on my road trips for an easy in and out - super quick, super easy and plenty to choose from.
