I was referred to Dr. Coates by a friend. When I seen her for my Physical, she came in and I literally felt like I was at fast food restaurant. She went through my physical so quick that I couldn't even believe what was happening. When I made a comment to her about her going so fast, she responded that she was very busy and had 7 physicals that day. Like how is that my fault as your patient?! That is not my problem, nor is that something that you should have told me. That is between you and your staff, and should have been handled better. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, since she was a referral, but on another note, I had to have an Ultra Sound, and they took over 3 weeks to give me the results, which were not good results. When she called me, she was cold, unsympathetic, and wouldn't let me get a word in when I was trying to ask her questions.
You don't have to be all sweet and candy-like, but come on, at least have a little tact and bedside manner when you are calling a patient at 6pm on a Thursday night to give them any news, but especially disturbing news. Needless to say, she passed me on to her assistant, which she took days to return my call, and I finally had to end up getting an new primary care doctor. Here's my thing, if I can't trust you as my physician, if I can't trust that you have my best interest at heart, and are going to do your absolute best to make sure you help me in the best possible way; then there is no point of me having you as my physician. I don't care how busy you are, how many patients you are overbooked with, etc. When it comes to our time, I should not feel like I am being super rushed and that my concerns and ailments aren't important. I don't trust Dr. Coates, nor do I feel like she cares at all about me, and therefore I had to choose another doctor, who has the time, patience, and sincerity to care for me as a patient, and not just a $ sign. I am very disappointed and would never recommend her to my family or friends. read more
