They also have an amazing Bible study on Tuesdays which is good for their souls. I can't say enough good things about them. They always greet me with a big smile and conversation that it's obvious they truly care about people. There are so many good people from Housekeeping, Restaurant and Maintenance employees that I would love to recognize each and everyone of them for taking such good care of all The seniors that live here. The caregivers really do care about each and every resident. Every resident was well cared for, making sure they were always clean and dry and pain free. The caregivers made sure all residents were brought out to the living room area, if not bed bound, to enjoy activities, if they cared to. These caregivers truly care about THEIR residents. They do activities with the residents, aside from having a weekly activity director come weekly. You can really feel the love in this home! The owners are very attentive to the residents and caregivers. They make sure they visit with each resident. And they always answer any concerns and all texts from family. Both the caregivers and owners were always on top of any concern about the resident. They both always kept me updated on any issue. You will not find a better care home for your loved one!

It was a blessing to find this facility with the help of a social worker. I met with the Executive Director, Erin who helped me understand the facility's approach to caring for its residents. She brought me a since of calm that I had not experienced since starting this journey with my spouse 3 years earlier. The office staff is professional and caring. The caregivers, nursing personnel and other staff are compassionate and always helpful. I no longer feared a call from an assisted living facility as I had in the past because I knew everything was under control, and my spouse was well cared for at all times by knowledgeable and tenderhearted personnel. As my spouse's condition deteriorated, everyone from office staff, to cottage staff were very kind and comforting. I routinely visited, unannounced, so I could check on my spouse. I found him well taken care of and happy during my visits. Hospice personnel who ultimately helped with the care of my spouse coordinated with The Cottages personnel, and my spouse was treated with respect and dignity. When he passed away, the staff were genuinely upset and empathetic toward my needs. I highly recommend The Cottages in Peoria AZ to care for your loved ones.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Avista Sun City West Memory Care. The way my…read morefamily and I were treated was very unprofessional and upsetting, especially during such an emotional and difficult time. Before moving my dad in, we were told certain things that gave us confidence in choosing this facility, but after he was there, many of those promises were not followed through with. Changes were made without proper communication or notice, and it felt like our concerns as a family were not being respected or heard. One of the biggest concerns was the pressure we felt to switch my dad to a hospice company that the facility preferred, even though we already had a hospice provider we trusted and wanted to continue with. During that process, we feel they took advantage of our family's emotional state and the difficult situation we were facing to push for a decision that aligned with what they wanted rather than what our family believed was best for my dad. Another concern was our interactions with Melissa and Jackie. We found their behavior to be hostile, aggressive, and lacking the compassion and professionalism that families deserve during such a difficult time. Rather than feeling supported, we often felt intimidated and dismissed when trying to advocate for my dad's care and express our concerns. We were also uncomfortable with the approach of keeping my dad heavily medicated. We expected compassion, honesty, communication, and respect for our family's wishes, but unfortunately that was not our experience. Families place tremendous trust in memory care facilities when caring for their loved ones. We expected the care, transparency, and respect that was promised when we chose this facility. Instead, our experience left us feeling frustrated, unheard, and disappointed. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve communication, professionalism, and respect for residents and their families.

This is another review. Prior to finding my mother another facility (see my previous review) my…read moremother was moved to another room over the weekend to a bed that had no call button for help. It was a single room but they moved my mother into it with another woman who was residing there already. A few days later, my mother fell again (Mar. 7 and April 2, 2023) and hit her head. We think she fell from her wheelchair.The newer staff were working but they cannot explain how she fell backwards receiving a cervical fracture. It looks as if they tried to pick her up but because of her weight she fell backwards. One of her pillows had blood on it and the other pillow was missing, probably placed under her head to stop the bleeding. I'm speculating here, but they don't know what happened to the other pillow. The Exec. Director claimed the new staff was trained to not move her. She was rushed to the Banner ER then taken to the trauma center 5 days later on Thunderbird when they had an opening and put in a neck brace for 10 weeks. She is still complaining of pain but at least she is alive. My mom is wheelchair bound and weighs 180 lbs and could not have fallen forward and then backwards unaided. I've attached a picture of her bed which was moved into a single room acting now as a shared room but her side of the room had no call button. They would not allow my mother's medical alert to be used while she was staying at the facility because they said they had the room call buttons. Oh, one last thing, when I asked to see the cameras in her room so I could see how she fell, the Exec. Director Angie told me they were not working yet in that room.

There is so much JOY in the residents and the teams that work with them and there is a true sense of comradery, family and connection. As seniors age, mental and physical capacity may become diminished, but there is still so much spark in the residents I have worked with here and I truly believe it's because the teams working for the communities foster such a wonderful spirit of love and togetherness. They speak hopefully, lovingly and faithfully and it really reflects in the faces and eyes of those who live here. They are committed to loving the residents and you see it! I am not just saying this because I have worked with them for several years doing marketing photography, but because I truly do see a special difference in these communities. Heritage is truly top-notch and a place I've already started comfortably recommending to family friends, because I believe they have something truly special.

Yvette took me through the whole facility. It was warm, welcoming and so peaceful. Mom would be staying in the memory care. It was so safe, quiet and very intimate. It's set up almost like a Montessori school. They only take around 20 residents in the memory care. I was so grateful they had an opening for her! They have a ratio of about 1 care giver to 5 residents. They had amazing safety systems set up for caring for their residents! We had superb gentle nurses and caregivers like Arrietta and Delores! They looked after mom like she was their own. So protective! There was Pablo who at nights would stay close and talk to mom's room/door so she would feel comfortable and sleep! From the moment she arrived at Orchard Point earlier than expected, Yvette and Patty the Director took such amazing care of her. Even answering their personal cellphones late late at night on our first night there. I was expecting voicemail but they took my call and jumped into action! They quickly helped with any accommodations she/we needed. They helped us as her family find support for her! They and all of the staff in the Memory Care are a family! It felt like home. The residents mom spent time with were so happy. Everyone was active, clean, needs being met! There was not one single resident who wasn't being loved and cared for! Orchard Pointe was such a blessing for us in a painful journey! They took care of us! They took care of us so we could set back and breathe! Orchard Pointe is a Home and a Family! My mom has passed but we will be eternally grateful to have found Yvette, Patty and everyone at Orchard Pointe! They truly love and care for their residents and their families!
