There were still some fixtures left unsold, mainly mannequins, clothing racks, and some display stands. I was surprised how much inventory The Bay could get rid of. The jewelry section had a lot of people, but even if those cannot be sold on the last day, I'm sure it won't be wasted. Maybe if more sales event were done before getting bankrupted would have saved them. Now that Canadian Tire bought them out, it would be interesting to see what will be done to the store in the future when they choose some to reopen. I bought a dawn feather jacket from the online store around Dec. The shipping was pretty fast, like within 2 days. The quality was good, very light, but still very warm when I went out on the colder days. I got the black colour as it's the only colour left available. $110 for the dawn jacket was a steal. I really do hope they make good use of the real estate.

I literally cried when they closed their cafeteria on the 8th floor and having gone there regularly for years, it was sad they replaced it an empty event space. I hated how they replaced their food service with Olivieri & Bonancini and going upscale was their downfall. The Pusateri's in the basement now overpriced and not as good as their original food hall, which catered to everyday people but now it's an overpriced upscale food place. But I love the clothes floors and the other departments. It's sad other Bay stores are closed but I feel fortunate this store is staying open and I will cherish it with all my heart and I hope it never closes.

When I was a kid I remember going to Fairview Mall. Back then you had Sears and Hudsons Bay as…read moreflagship stores. Now in 2025, both big box stores are no longer in business. Fairview Mall has gone through an evolution and reimagination of the retail space. I love how they redeveloped the space where Sears used to be. The space is now converted into a mini Chinatown spot with Saint Germain bakery, bubble tea shop, Hong Kong style cafe, Thai restaurant, and a T&T Supermarket. On the top floor there's a Marshalls / Homesense big box store. I noticed the Zara store has been renovated and now occupying 2 levels. The store looks immaculate and love the modern layout and self serve checkout kiosks to make shopping faster for DIY people. I managed to do some shopping at H&M and got some great deals in the sale section. I also bought some groceries like green beans, lychee, bbq pork buns, and curry beef pastries. It's not very often you can go to regional mall and be able to buy clothes, groceries, and bakery goods. It was a pleasant experience. I look forward to the transformation of the vacant Hudson Bay space. Oh did I mention they have a Playdium arcade in the old Sportchek space beside the Cineplex theatre.

This is both disappointing and odd since Nordstrom started off as a luxury shoe store.) I don't buy fragrances often, but when I do, it is a careful decision that requires a lot of time. And when I'm in a funk or feel stale, I tend to gravitate towards the perfume counter and just explore... Sales Associate, Leyla let me do just that...explore. I had a coupla specific brands (Byredo/Acqua di Parma) in mind to check out, but Leyla also introduced some other brands to me. She was very generous with not only her time, but her knowledge as well. I received much better customer service here than at HR on Bloor last week! So your experience anywhere really depends on WHO helps you out!

There is artwork all over the place, on buildings, for sale in yards, featured in most of the shops. I highly recommend adding this stop when visiting the city, public transportation has stops all close enough to easily get here and enjoy your day!
