I found this clinic online and filled out a form to request more information. I was called the next business morning, and I scheduled an evaluation two days later. I was nervous, but the entire staff is extremely welcoming and supportive. They definitely put you at ease.
If you are going for an evaluation, wear something comfortable. You'll step on a large, oversized scale, then have your temp taken, then be shown to a treatment room. EVERYTHING will be explained, sometimes more than once. They will take photos and measure your limbs. This meant putting marks up the front of my legs, then measuring the circumference every few centimeters from my foot to my thigh. Then they take you to a cool, dark room with recliners. They put these massive balloon bags on your legs and hook them up to a pump. You sit there for around 20 minutes while the pump does its thing, inflating and deflating to squeeze your limbs to move the excess fluid up and away. Then it's back to the treatment room to be measured again. IF you lost some fluid in this process, this treatment may be right for you. The doctor and manager will come in and explain everything to you and ask if you want to proceed.
I was evaluated on a Thursday and began my treatments the very next Saturday. If I had it to do again, I would have gotten a pedicure before I started the treatment program. That was my mistake. Each full treatment is about a two hour session. About an hour of that is a very gentle massage. Another half hour getting tightly bandaged (the worst part), and around 30 minutes in the pump room.
I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. They are so sweet. They go out of their way to offer you anything you might want or need. Things you don't even realize you want, like a blanket or cup of water.
I was at the Kirby location, so these facility comments are specifically about it. There is PLENTY of free parking. The two times I've been so far, I've had front row parking. The lobby is large and clean. They have oversized chairs, so people of all sizes can sit comfortably. There's always Christian music playing in the lobby; it's not my thing, but it was pleasant. The treatment rooms are light and bright. The linens and gowns are clean and fresh. Larger-size gowns are available if you need them. In the pump room, there are little signs to tell you that a recliner has been cleaned and is ready for you. There's also a water dispenser and it seemed like every staff member who walked through offered me water. Which is important because I got a lecture about needing to drink more water to help my lymphatic system work better.
I'm only one full treatment into my treatment plan (three times a week for four to six weeks), but so far, this has been a five star experience. Dr. Garcia, Kayla the manager, and all of the therapists were just awesome. Do not delay getting an evaluation or treatment because you are embarrassed. Do not put it off thinking you'll go once you lose some weight. I should have done this years ago. If you're reading this review, you probably should too. Just make a call. They have staff who can answer your questions in English or Spanish. Good luck! read more
