One hour before the appointment, they called to reschedule with no explanation. We rescheduled for the following Friday and they just didn't show up. We called to find out what happened and the lady said her earlier appointment ran long and she forgot to call and she had another appointment right after ours so couldn't come to our house. Excuse me - why aren't you bumping the last appointment? We for some reason decided to reschedule with them again and it was a flat no show. If the sales process is any indication of the actual project process, I would think twice before calling this company.

They are great in communicating via phone, email, and in person, and are very proactive when a setback or problem is discovered (oh, the joys of owning a turn-of-the century house!), and give a variety of options on how to proceed. Having worked with other contractors on smaller projects, this is definitely an area in which Full House goes above and beyond and really sets them apart. What's more, the Full House team are stand-up individuals, who are fun to be around. This always means a lot to me because I work from home and "oversee" all our projects. I purchased a home that needed a great deal of remodeling. I hired Alder Building for the large…read moreproject which included everything from installing flooring to tile, painting and stain, bathroom remodeling, wrought iron work, lighting and even included some design elements. Ben provided a detailed (very reasonable!) estimate and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. He did an incredible job! Ben replaced carpet and existing hardwood flooring with bamboo flooring, ensuring every board was properly glued, spaced perfectly and levels and transitions were smooth. He found a wood stain that exactly matched for the stairs to spare me the expense of installing bamboo on the stairs. It looks perfect! Trim, crown moulding and chair rail were replaced or added in many rooms. Ben hand-crafted beautiful wainscotting with complex angles for my living room, dining room and front foyer and hallway. I knew I wanted it, but had not thought through all of the details. Ben stepped me through my options and turned the vision into reality, exceeding even my own expectations! He replaced the railing on the stairs with wrought iron and figured out how to display a wrought iron panel I had purchased on the upstairs landing, adding a striking visual feature to the 2-story foyer. He installed a beautiful tile backsplash in my kitchen as well as a farmhouse sink, including the plumbing, and reconfigured the cabinets below to save me having to purchase new ones. He replaced light fixtures and ceiling fans throughout the home. He even built my kitchen island for me and installed my kitchen appliances. Ben remodeled my master bathroom to include the removal of a traditional tub and shower, replacing them with a free standing soaking tub and new shower unit, new tile and re-working the plumbing. Did I mention that he also painted every wall and ceiling in the 5-bedroom home?!? He had to use scaffolding in areas and did a neat, clean job; precise lines and no drips on my new carpet in the bedrooms. I found Ben's work to be consistently precise and of the highest possible quality. He proved himself to be committed to not only getting the job done, but he took pride in doing it "right". He never cuts corners; his high standards for quality persist. He communicates well and listens. He is a problem solver and is innovative, but primarily he is experienced; he knows what he is doing! He is a master at his craft and he views each project as a personal reflection on himself. I often told him he is an artist. You can TRUST Ben with your home and your project!!

About a year later we wanted to refinish our master bathroom. Got a bid from Banell Custom and asked them to present some ideas on some of the bathroom challenges. There are some larger windows that we didn't want to lose but wanted the shower in that space. Banell found a "Smart Window" that used a gas to fog when we wanted privacy. With a flip of a switch, we enjoy them clear and benefit from the wonderful natural light. They did outstanding work. So grateful to find a good and creative contractor!!
