I thought it was weird Rex Roofing was interested in the job I initiated as a Yelp Project because…read moreI haven't seen anything remotely resembling my 1200sqft 1970 ranch house on their website or socials, and I'm in Longmont while they're based in Castle Rock. Stay far away from them if you're not in a reasonable service area. They are an insurance claim chaser company and will step all over you to get at your payout. They sent different people out to inspect and provide quotes (gutter and soffits/fascia was the scope requested). I did not ask for a roof assessment but the gutter guy thought it might be eligible for an insurance replacement, so I said sure send the guy on out and let's see what happens. That's where it got really.... interesting. My first appointment was for a Friday. I asked for a specific time so I could manage my work schedule around the inspection. A time was agreed upon. Nobody showed up. I had to initiate contact to find out that they would not be coming that day due to the time/distance. We rescheduled and on the rescheduled date, I reached out early to confirm the time and was told the inspector would be 30min late. I readjusted my work calendar and was notified it would be an additional 15min. This turned out to very much work in my favor. The inspection was very thorough and took about 1.5hr. At the conclusion of the inspection I was told they can convince the insurance company to replace the roof. They showed me what ended up being a contract, but was not presented as such explicitly by name. I was asked to sign before they revealed the "fine print" on the back page - which involved having the insurance company sign the check over to Rex Roofing rather than me (I have USAA). This didn't sit well after discussing with several people and reviewing the fine print. I voided the contract within the 72 hour grace period so I can get a second opinion, gather additional quotes, and control my own insurance payout (if that happens). Instead of responding to me to confirm they received my email (always document in writing! With time stamps!) they forwarded it to the inspector who started texting me asking to "resolve" the situation. I explained, as I had in the email, that I would be taking my insurance payout myself and I requested a "cash price" quote from them. I was then told there was no way my insurance company would approve it without the inspector present, a number of wild assumptions and insinuations were made, and I was essentially berated by text by the salesman for exercising a legal right to void the contract. I had to block his number because he would not stop texting me to mansplain how I had no idea what I was doing as a homeowner and he was the only person who could convince my insurance adjuster to cover the roof. Turns out he was right - they talked me into opening a claim, the adjuster said the roof is perfectly fine and they would replace only one portion of one downspout that had hail damage. I can't tell you how the "value" of this company compares to others because they said they would do the work "for a price agreed upon with the insurance company" without providing a scope of work or any numbers of any kind in writing - so I guess they're not really interested in much besides doing the job for as much as they can squeeze out of the insurance company. I might not have made a USAA claim myself but everyone else in my family has.

After looking at the fence, it was determined that cutting down my (14, jeez) dead trees would be the best idea to ensure no future damage to the fence. They set me up with Santos Perez, who was also the main guy for my fence. Santos and his crew did an amazing job with the tree removal. Over the course of the project, the scope expanded. Jeff and Eric were more than happy to come over on a weekend to talk about it. They were there every step of the way, keeping me updated and making sure I was satisfied. They spent the extra time with me standing there, pretending to open a fence door, out and in to determine the best way of installation. Kudos to Jeff, Eric, and Santos, et al. Thank you for the amazing work you did in transforming my backyard into something I never thought it could be. 20/10.

29Aug2025 (Updated review based on owner's response):…read more I called to discuss the situation with Sara based on her response, but she did not answer nor call me back after I left a voicemail. Unfortunately, her response is exactly the issue with this company, poor communication, lack of facts, and terrible workmanship. She is correct that my kitchen floors were originally resurfaced by her company in Nov 2023, but you can see the very poor workmanship and quality of the floor after they were done (See picture of the discolored floors in front of the frig). The stain was not uniform and the sheen did not match the rest of my floors on the same level. They had to come back a second time are redo the kitchen floors again in 2024. Her failure to acknowledge the substandard results from the first attempt in Nov2023 and failure to provide that information in her response only shows how unreliable this contractor is. They DO NOT take responsibility for their poor results nor backup their workmanship. The issue with painter's tape on the wood floor is misleading by Sara. The facts are the painter's tape is a low adhesive tape, designed to be on floors and walls so it does not pull up the floor finish or wall paint when removed. Also, the painter's tape was on the floor for only 6 hours. The kitchen floor urethane surface is supposed to be durable for years and years of use and should never have come up after less than a year, if the floors were done to "industry standards". Honestly just terrible workmanship, which is demonstrated by the substandard quality results, and zero interest in backing up their work. So sad ;-( I cannot recommend this contractor to do any trades as they want to get it done quickly and get paid, then move on. I did not experience an interest in customer satisfaction and quality performance. In addition, their communication is atrocious.

DO NOT HIRE BRANDON HAYES. He is not Hero but is a crook. I was looking for a car for my wife to…read moredrive when the roads were bad. I have been looking at Subaru Outback's for her. We came across the one Brandon was selling on Craigslist. He said the timing belt was replaced, it had 198K mile and no body damage. When looking at it had damage to the from and the back hatch had a large dent and some rust. I thought that is fine because of the price. He said the head gasket was changed and that it did not leak, brakes and front suspension was done recently. The odometer also said 252000 and not 198000 as stated in the listing. Again because of the price we decided to pay him for the car. When he brought out the title it had a different name than his. He said it was his step fathers so we gave him the money. When we left he said to call him if we have any questions or problems. After getting home I parked it in my clean driveway and noticed it leaking coolant. I took it to a shop and the head gasket needs to be replaced and that the engine oil, transmission and head gasket was leaking and all for shocks had to be replaced and the brakes were close to needing done. Upon finding this out I called Brandon and it went straight to voicemail so I texted him to discuss this. He has never returned my calls or texted me back. I have given him plenty of time to call me so now I am writing a character review. I decided to list the car with the issues because I am an honest person and then a guy called me asking if I was the person on the title because the person (Antonio) owed him $700 for the car still and was looking to collect. The person on title ended up not being his step father but a younger friend. Brandon is the shadiest guy I have ever dealt with. I am surprised he is married and has children. I pray that his kids do not grow up like him. Now I am out $2100 during Christmas. I am a father of 4 children and I am shocked that someone would treat someone like this. Mike

His car was repossessed after 4 months of not paying his lease (03/19-06-19). He was evicted for not paying his rent (07/19). 528 Verdos is his Mom's house. Assuming he spends your insurance money to fix your roof, there's still the chance that his sub-contractors will make mistakes. He doesn't have the money to buy a second set of materials if your roof fails inspection. If you end up having to sue him, you might have to find a place in line.
