This is the second time I have used Paul on an egress window project. This project was a little more interesting and creative. We had Paul's team dig out a tiered egress wall so that we could have a place to plant in the middle. We also choose some unique stone we found from a local landscape supplier. The team did an amazing job over 4 days digging it out and then laying and mortaring the stone. Super conscientious with mask wearing, cleaning up the job site and tidying everything up at the end of each work day. We decided, after very thorough research, to work with Paul Kruse and his team (Frank, Patrick & Ayden). They installed two egress windows in our 1950s standard Denver brick bungalow. The difference between before and after were breathtaking. The downstairs is flooded w/ light through the new windows, looking outside is a joy, etc. Not to mention the simple fact that egress windows are a needed safety feature that also increases the value of your house). In fact, we should have pulled the proverbial trigger on the investment years ago. The team was punctual, worked efficiently, was always polite & responsive, and cleaned up everything. From beginning to end a truly wonderful job & experience. We are grateful. Yes, you might be able to get lower offers ... we entertained other companies and I even went to job sites nearby to see their installations -- and I am glad I did! What I found was frequently unattractive, cookie-cutter work with seemingly little care for the end product. Some companies will not bother to keep the inside of the house protected (Great Escape did by putting up a plastic enclosure in the bedrooms downstairs), or provide at least a semi-finished frame around the new window (Great Escape did by installing a simple but attractive pine moulding that only needed paint). Paul will visit your home w/ not only a wealth of knowledge but also a folder that contains images of available windows, wells, and more -- we found that aspect particularly helpful and professional. Even though Great Escape was more expensive than the other 2 estimates we went with them because we loved how upfront and honest they presented themselves.
