I took a ride about a month and a half ago now. This driver lied to lift and told them that I spilled this in his car and that this damage happened while my ride was in progress. I could not get my driver to respond back to me regarding the eyeglasses I left in Abdul's car in Chandler, AZ. I tried reaching him immediately after dropping me off and for the last 2 weeks. We got scammed by Lyft with its Lyft Cash program. My son was invited to visit a college in San Diego. The college paid for the flight and two Lyft rides from the airport to the college and back to the airport. The rides were paid with coupons. I noticed a $25 charge from Lyft on our credit card. Lyft has no phone number or any customer service to speak of. If you're lucky enough to find the chat feature in the app which is hidden beyond belief, you can start a chat. After chatting for about two hours I was finally assured that the $25 Lyft Cash was credited. I went to our credit card account and did not see a credit but another charge for $25 dollars. It seems when my son opened his Lyft account Lyft Cash was set to on by default and every time the balance gets low it charges another $25! I chatted again and this guy refused to give me credit and said it's against their policy to credit Lyft Cash. He wouldn't explain why the previous guy did. I finally had to dispute the amount with my credit card company. Lyft has terrible customer service and this "Lyft Cash" is a complete scam. Don't use Lyft if at all possible. read more

My how the mighty have fallen. What started as an ethical company built on both driver and rider satisfaction took a turn for the worse somewhere along the way. The rates kept dropping throughout the years as prices everywhere else continued to climb. They bid farewell to their mentor program awhile back, which instilled a sense of quality over quantity for passengers, that is now long gone. The title of mentor was awarded to drivers who were recognized by the company for being good examples behind the wheel and provided them with a decent side income while the driving rates continued to plummet. Another way drivers were able to supplement the hit on those rates was through the company's passenger referral program. Lyft paid drivers money to bring them new business. That was great while it lasted. I found a way to generate a decent side income while helping grow a brand that I still had some faith in. Then, without much warning, they pulled the plug on that. By that time I had several hundred pending referrals that were all on the verge of taking their first ride, and even though the company assured me that I would be paid for my work and the vast amount of business I'd brought them, I wasn't. Instead, they started issuing me, a driver, $5 ride credits that all expire soon after receiving them. I tested the passenger app out to find those credits do not even apply if I even were to take a ride. I have about 500 of those, and after two months of waiting to hear back, Lyft informs me that not only will they not pay me for all of those referrals but they "cannot" combine all those worthless $5 credits into something I might actually need or use. The company used to incentivize drivers to head into busy areas that can be mentally taxing by raising the rates, called "Prime Time", the equivalent of Uber's Surge, but that too now seems to be a relic of the past. Uber, who used to widely be considered the less ethical of the two companies, booted their old CEO and has since been making strides forward in several areas, including paying for drivers' ASU online degrees and locking drivers into surge rates if they attempt to get to those zones that need the help. While one company does better, the other decides to go the opposite direction. I used to love Lyft and support them through many of the things I haven't been a fan of throughout their time in Phoenix, but enough is enough. I cannot in good conscience say that the brand is good to it's people anymore. Perhaps they've gotten too big for their britches, or maybe the company is penny pinching, but whatever the case, they've lost me, and I'm through bringing them business and speaking highly of them to those who were previously unfamiliar with them. read more

For our business, We had an absolutely terrible ride in November. We were told we would receive a full refund and didn't even receive half of it. The driver took us THREE hours out of the way which resulted in us missing our flight home and even worse, he drove 25+ over the speed limit, was breaking harshly, and was extremely unsafe. When I spoke to a "supervisor" today- Cesar- he told me my case was declined, and I could not resubmit it and there was no one at all I could speak to when I asked for his supervisor. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. On the night of May 25,2017 the driver abandoned my friend and I at a QT at 2am. On the night of the incident I had been unknowingly drugged at a night club. I chose to take a Lyft rather than drive because I was not in a stable state of mind. I trusted Lyft with the safety of myself, my friend, and for the best interest of those around me. However, due to the lack of ethics of my driver, Luis, I was left in the middle of the night drugged and vulnerable. The driver took off with my phone so I had no means of communication. Multiple men tried to lure me into their car because I was fading in and out of consciousness. It was terrifying to come to and find a strange man with their hand on my arm, trying to force me into their car. If it wasn't for the actions of the QT clerk, I don't know what would've happened to me. Although I was not taken to my home, or even to a safe place, I was still charged $42 for the ride. On top of this, I was also changed a $150 "damaging fee" for what appeared to be a blue substance on the door frame of the car. There was nothing on the interior or anything on the upholstery. I spoke to a representative at Lyft who ensured all fees would be waved given my circumstances and due to the negligence of the driver. However, in order to have these charges removed, I had to repeatedly message Lyft and only the $42 was refunded! It has been over a month and I have yet to have the $150 removed from my account! I'm so disappointed in my entire experience. I have been a loyal rider for the past 3 years and I will NEVER use these services again. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My family and I traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to attend a graduation and scheduled a Lyft ride to the Phoenix airport on our return flight the morning of May 11, 2023. Shortly (no later than 10 minutes) after being dropped off by the Lyft driver, Hispanic male named "Orlando," a telephone alert was received indicating that the iPad belonging to my 10-year-old grandson had inadvertently been left in Orlando's vehicle. My daughter-in-law IMMEDIATELY reached out to Orlando (communicating in both English and Spanish) to make him aware of the situation and to arrange for family still in the area to meet him to retrieve the iPad. In addition, she contacted Lyft directly to enlist their assistance in facilitating the pickup of the item its driver, Orlando, or the return at customer expense. To date, absolutely NO response has been received from the Lyft driver, Orlando, and NO further assistance has been provided by Lyft to help facilitate the return of the item. The iPad and iPad cover, were the only Christmas gifts my grandson received in 2022 and they were his most prized possessions. I am absolutely DISGUSTED that someone would retain the possessions of a paid customer, especially a minor "child," and believe others would ever have any interest in supporting their business in the future. I will NEVER use Lyft again nor will anyone else I know after being advised of this incident. The item was inadvertently left behind, once the Lyft driver AND the Lyft organization were made aware of the lost item and there was no effort to allow for its retrieval nor to facilitate a return of the item at customer expense, in my opinion, it shifted from a lost item to theft!!! I usually prefer Uber but thought I'd try Lyft since I had a discount code. It was a Saturday afternoon, Cave Creek to Old Town Scottsdale. Our driver wasn't very friendly, car wasn't clean inside. I'm pretty easy going but I asked the driver if he would roll his windows up as I was dressed up with my hair done and it was warm out. He said "this isn't a limousine service" and kept them down as we rode the 101 for 25 minutes at 80 mph. Such a rude man, if I wasn't in a hurry I would've gotten out and called Uber. read more

I have taken many many Lyft rides for over 3 years. Have had minimal disappointments. However, recently I have had 2 charge issues and I discover there is no way to any longer be able to contact a human in customer service. There is no phone number, nor are there ways to reach them via their site's option. I was charged $7.00+ extra for a priority 8 minute pickup. It took them 14 minutes and they still charged me extra. Then they added a $7.00 tip to a driver which I did not authorize. I want to switch to Uber, but zfro what I read online, they also are impossible to reach when you have a problem. BEWARE of being a Lyft Drivers......I'm 65 yr old retired. Thought I would sign up for Lyft as a driver to get out, meet people and make a few bucks in the process. Started last Monday, the first week was great. Monday of this week was good, Tuesday the honeymoon was over. Started get 3-5 minute runs all day. 15 stops for about 130 bucks. Today, 16 stops/$99 bucks. Not even 10 bucks hr. Sent msg to Driver Advisor Jordan ask about all the short runs. My next stop was a "No show" and would not pay me. I sat there for 30 mins and said I moved from pick up spot. I did move, to the parking lot 10 feet away. Would not pay me. Tried to contact someone, but they would not help. I tried lyft for the first time . I put in my time needed , which was a few hours later. Immediately, I get a text from the driver saying he's minutes away. I let him know it's not for a few hours. After my appointment I used the Lyft app to return home. This time the cost was $50! I believe that they call this "surge pricing", I wish they could explain to me the difference in "surge pricing" and "Gouge Pricing". I don't think this is a way to treat their loyal customers. Yes, I could have gone through Uber but my app wasn't updating and I was driving. Ride was for my daughter going in a different direction. NO phone number available to contact Lyft about the scheduled ride being 20 minutes late. Not my issue if there is not another driver in the area...Lyft allows for there to be scheduled rides. If it cannot be accommodated then Lyft should be contacting customer about there being an issue. NOT the customer having to hunt down a non-existing phone number. I went in the Lyft app and ordered a car which was $46 with service provided within an hour. The app kept refreshing the service adding 10 minutes. Then the order just went off my phone and was replaced by where do you want to go. Running out of time the quickest car was now $125 and 21 minutes out. After 40 minutes I'm past my airport check in and cancelled car #2. Thanks to Lyft I'm out $130 rebooking fees and a day late on my travel. won't be rushing back to Lyft again. read more
