I am a 5 star Lyft customer who had a harrowing experience during and after a trip ordered by my boyfriend. The driver clearly was confused (I'm not going to say he was impaired, but I can't get that possibility out of my head) and didn't know where was going, went on the wrong freeway, almost got us into two freeway accidents, surged speed and then slowed down several times, and tried to take wrong exits before we yelled at him on three occasions. We finally got out of the car at a stoplight one mile from my place and walked home, shaken. My boyfriend tried to report the problem but Lyft did nothing and instead charged him for the trip -- plus 20 percent tip. He reported it to the police but we did not think to keep the license plate number so other than telling someone about a problem driver out there in Phoenix, there wasn't anything to do. What is the recourse here, other than leaving Lyft? That's a problem as my only other alternative is Waymo and that's operating on a limited basis in select cities. I like that Lyft offers me filters for drivers -- which I now consider valuable considering this complete lack of customer service. In any event, it's not valuable enough for me to stay considering the experience we had last night. A Warning to Lyft Customers!! I Just had a dangerous experience with a Lyft driver named Ramatullah, who drives a late model Toyota Camry. He picked us up after a baseball game at Chase field in Phoenix. The driver was speeding, pulling in front of other drivers, turned on the 202 Freeway when he should have taken the 51 freeway, then once we got him turned around to the 51, he tried to get off at two wrong exits before he finally got off at Northern Avenue and nearly slammed into two cars at the stoplight. We finally jumped out of the ride a mile from our destination and the driver claimed he dropped us off and they charged me a tip. I called Lyft safety and they didn't seem particularly interested in doing much. I finally called Phoenix Police. I will never ride in a Lyft again. Watch out for this guy. read more

I have been using Lyft for 2 years. Today I was waiting at the same address all other drivers pick me up at. Today I had a driver named Cassie. They informed me she was deaf and that I could not call her. she would need to be texted. There was no way to do that on the app. she went to some address, not the one on file then cancelled my ride. Lyft said they would only refund $6.50. I paid $15. I had to pay her for her mistake and the mistake of Lyft. I have never had an issue before. I found that Lyft does not have any live reps to help when you have been treated this way. no one to put the accountability with these drivers. I have lived at my address for 9 years. 2 years of lyft rides and this is what they do. This is robbery. taking money from me because your driver went to the wrong address. Tonight I had the 3rd experience of receiving an incorrect pickup map from Lyft and having the driver cancel because we were in the "wrong" location and then charging us. I recently ordered a rid home from Sky Harbor airport in Phoenix. I was quoted $51.99. On the way home, I noticed the driver missed a freeway connection. After telling him he said the address he had was xxx East xxx st. I live on South xxx st. The address he quoted does not even exist in my city. I was told to edit the ride. At that point, I was charged an additional $27. Lyft, no longer has a website available to dispute a charge. Lyft.com has the message "Lyft is no longer available on the web, Download the app to configure settings..." The app did not allow me to dispute the charge. So now I have to charge it back via my credit card, which I will do. I have now had negative experiences with both Uber and Lyft. However this is the most blantant ripoff, I have experienced and Lyft provides no means to contact them or dispute a charge. I will not be using this platform again. I may go back to using Taxis, when I need a ride. read more

I travel very frequently and switch between Lyft and Uber and I have to say that Lyft is terrible when it comes to their committed pickup time and their actual pickup time. When you look at the app it will give you an estimated time of pickup, and it is never correct. It usually is 50% to 100% longer than the app first tells you. By the time you have waited for it to select a driver, your kind of pot committed and then it changes the time. Terrible technology. read more

The app told me the ride would cost ~$14. The driver told me that we would be there in 2 minutes. I told him that was not correct and I had to use google maps to guide him to the place where I was staying. The driver told me that there must've been a technical glitch. I was so greatly appreciated when I receive the phone call today around 12:30 spoke with the driver. He said I was the only ride that he had for that day. He went to look in his vehicle to see if there was any messes left and that's when he discovered my phone I since have been greatly appreciated for the wonderful detective work of my daughter and of course of this wonderful Lyft driver that was able to return the phone to me since I was not able to give him a tip of the day we received the vehicle ride to our destination. I returned karma at its best and wished him a wonderful new year and gave him a $50 tip and said I greatly appreciate you getting me my phone back. You have no clue the trouble you saved me. I never took a Lyft before this experience and I never will again. First, the price was 80.00 for an 18 mile drive; twice as much as the Uber quote but Uber had no drivers that early in the morning - I had to be at the airport very early. When I got in the car it was clear the driver had been smoking weed; the car was filled with smoke; and the driver tried to cover it up with flower-scented air spray. I couldn't cancel the ride - I had to get to the airport. Next, the driver sped around some traffic and cut off someone else on the way to the airport, and the driver that was cut off was very angry and chased us for a mile or so. After the ride, I looked online for Customer Service or someplace to complain and couldn't find anything - the best advice I could get was "if you suspect a driver is under the influence, call the police." REALLY? From the back seat of the car? Like the driver isn't going to hear me call? And what would happen if the police came and pulled the driver over? Not to mention the driver knows where I live. Thankfully got to the airport in one piece with a cautionary tale to tell. Next time I'll take a taxi. read more

It's been two months and I STILL have not received my full bonus payment for my referral. Hours and hours spent on the phone over the course of two entire months now and no one can seem to get this right.
