I made an appointment for 10am when they open and was greeted and sat down right away as I was the only one there with two nail technicians. I needed a gel fill and had a broken nail that was very painful. I was nervous to try a new place but the owner (?) was very gentle with my nail. There is some uneven color and thickness on my nails but she did a good job at listening to my requests in terms of shape. I left happy. The next day my damaged nail snapped off and she had no time for a repair for a couple of days. It has been a week and a half after my nails and they all seem to be coming off near my cuticle. Something I have never had to deal with at other nail salons. I've had a friend get shellac there and they have only lasted a week as well. It was $35 dollars for my gel fill, and didn't last nearly as long as other places. read more

Do not waste your money. I received a gel french manicure and after 24 hours the tips had turned a yellowish-brown (they almost looked like toasted marshmallows). I do not smoke, or tan, and I wear gloves when doing dishes. I called Ly Ly Nails and expressed my disappointment and she assured me she would fix the problem for free - great! So I went in exactly 24 hours after my original appointment to have the french manicure re-done. When she was finished with the manicure she told me the reason the tips turned brown was because I "wash my hands too much". A gel manicure is supposed to last 2 to 3 weeks and I assure you all that my hands had not endured two weeks of hand washing in a mere 24 hours. I left, happy that I did not have to pay for them to fix their mistake, and within 24 hours my nails had turned the same yellowish-brown. After a bit of research I have discovered that this issue is most likely due to a tarnished, dirty, or old gel top coat. I mentioned the possibility of this during my second appointment and she insisted it had to be my fault. Needless to say, I won't be returning there and I do not recommend anyone waste their money at this establishment. read more

i had been to vy vy before, which actually now goes by ly ly nails, and gotten a janky turn out to say the least. BUT i went there again very recently and had learned that they had changed owner ship and have an entire new staff as well. i received a amazing mani and pedi with a friend and her expereince was the same. i had gel nails filled and a regular pedicure which included all of the things you would normal recieve. i asked the woman why they did not advertise that they were under new managment and she said they "didn't want to confuse people, aka change the name, i believe is what she was refering to. in conclusion, ly ly nails is NOW a very nice place to go. read more

I am sixteen now, I went here originally on my eleventh birthday for the first time. They cut my aunt's finger, and offered no condolences other than a breezy "sorry" and a quick continuing of our nails. Other than that they had done pretty well on the manicures we all got.The most recent time i went, i got a full set of gel tips on my hands. I originally called to make an appointment on a quick break a teacher had given us from class. I made my appointment for three thirty, and they called me back about ten minutes later, while i was in class, to ask if i wanted to switch my appointment to three, i didnt really care so I said sure. When I went in for my appointment, they made me wait a half hour anyway, so the appointment change was a waste of my time. They were very rough with my nails and the shape was wrong. When I told them it was wrong and asked them to fix it, the woman doing my nails just kept saying that she would fix it later. I just gave up when she clearly wasn't going to. When i was finished, the woman told me that it was fifty dollars, when two different signs both inside and outside the building very clearly said that it was forty dollars, I tried questioning her but ultimately I lost. I gave her my pay card which had exactly fifty five dollars on it. She took it upon herself to take assume i wouldn't care, and took the extra five dollars off. When I got my text alert for my card i brought this up to her, she denied it, and as i was leaving the building after giving up, I got another text alert saying that they had refunded me the extra five dollars. After about a week, three of them fell off. They have a two week guarantee, so I went back in to ask if she'd replace them. She was very very rude to me about it asking me why i think she should do everything for free. In the end she replaced the three nails free of charge, But she was very very rude to me the whole time, both trips, and i do not have any intention of returning. read more

This place is GREAT! the best gel manicure i've ever had....a millions times better than several tries in DC, Toronto, California. Here there is attention to detail, pride in a job well done, no rush atmosphere, no blaring QVC or other lame tv talk shows, just really earnest, nice, professional service. Oh, and excellent color choices! They had every OPI gel color i could ever want. I've never seen such a large selection. And my manicure lasted 3 weeks before the tiniest chip, easily gone with a quick file, to make the manicure last another week and a half! Its disappointing that yelp won't change their name/review status, because averaging in old reviews when it was under a different owner (and operating without a license the new owner said) is just not fair. It should not reflect on the current owners business. Yelp, can you fix this?I usually walk, but they do have a couple of designated spots in the rear lot, which is super helpful. read more
