I want to start off by saying that I usually don't make these reviews because genuinely everyone makes mistakes but I've never been treated this poorly in a nail salon. I had a noon appointment for a gel manicure and pedicure. No one greeted me. When I arrived, I tried to ask a few simple questions about the gel polish colors. The man and woman I was talking to seemed dismissive and unresponsive, barely acknowledging me. I understand salons can get busy, so I didn't push but I continued browsing and asked politely if I could swatch a shade on my own nail to check the true color (as gel can look different from samples). The response seemed annoyed and reluctant, even though I explained that I already knew the shade I wanted and I just wanted to confirm how it looked on my skin tone. When I asked about cat eye gel (which I've had before), the staff insisted on explaining it to me despite me saying I was already familiar. The tone became increasingly frustrated and I felt like I was bothering them just by asking questions. Then, in Vietnamese, I kept hearing them say to up charge me for my services and essentially "trick me" into upgrading. In hindsight, I should have left then but they didn't know I speak the language and I've been to salons that have done that in the past but they ended up being really nice and I just spoke Vietnamese back and said please don't upcharge me unnecessarily like that. Here at this salon, unfortunately, it was very blatant and unfriendly. I understand that every salon has its own policies and boundaries, and I completely respect that. I also come from a family that owns Vietnamese-run salons, and I've worked as a nail tech myself while going through school, so I know how the pace and communication can vary. But even with that context, this was by far one of the most unwelcoming and uncomfortable experiences I've had and I didn't even make it to the chair. I ended up leaving without receiving any services. I have never left a salon like that before. I left feeling dismissed, brushed off, and genuinely unwelcome. It was disappointing, especially because I came in prepared, respectful, and excited for the appointment. Especially being new in town. I would not recommend this place. If you are looking for a friendly place that at the very least treats you like a person and not a number, then look elsewhere. read more

So I had an appointment I came in 5 minuets early and I still waited 30 mins past my appointment time for my pedicure to begin. When I pointed it out and asked for a discount they only took 5 dollars off what is a 70 dollar plus expense. I asked for 10 off and the woman told me she couldn't do that. And I said well when someone has an appointment they don't expect to wait over 30 minuets for it to begin and that if you are running behind you should call and let the person know. She said she couldn't do that because people just walk in. I said well appointments should be the priority over walk ins. This has happened twice now. I will not be retuning after today. read more

This was my first time using this nail salon. Never again, lesson learned! I went in for a gel fill. After taking my seat in the chair the woman came over. There was no welcome or introduction she just said "what do you want". Following my answer, she then threw the gel color swatches at me (they landed in my lap) and said "pick a color". She asked about length. My response was just a tiny bit shorter. She then took the tips that I had on, and tore them off using her tool and never replaced them. The woman was very distracted. During my service she watched a video on her phone the entire time she was working on me. She continued to hit my skin with the tools and I had to ask "what are you watching". There was no answer. If you choose to use this salon, be sure to wear a mask. Prior to arrival, I asked about any requirements. There are none and additionally no signs inside or on the entrance stating a mask requirement. During my time in the chair another employee, after telling her customer there is not a mask requirement, then with her customer felt the need to rudely talk about me for not wearing one. Including commenting "that it was my stupidity, if after two years of wearing one, I didn't have access to a mask." When the service was done, there was no thank you for coming in or gratitude shown. I left with an awful experience and very unprofessional fill. read more

Went here today to get a basic pedicure and new full set gel with extensions. And was super disappointed. My nails looks awful. They are a lot longer than I asked for, all uneven lengths and are super messy looking. Paid 95$ today (included a tip because I didn't realize how bad they were. I have a wedding event this weekend and am now scrambling to find somewhere to fix them. I have never had nails turn out this bad or look/feel this bulky. Came here because it was widely recommended and will NOT be returning. read more

The salon was able to accommodate a walk-in, which was greet. As I sat down the nail tech practically threw the color swatch at me (one landed in my lap, on one the floor). The ENTIRE time she was doing my manicure she was watching a video on her phone with headphones in. I do understand when you do something every day you don't necessarily need to be watching constantly but this was more than just glancing at her phone. This place sucked! I walked in and hardly had one word said to me when I tried to converse. The women was flustered when I took time to look at nail polish. Next thing she did was rip the skin from my cuticles off and I bled for a good day or so, and no apolog, she Just wiped the blood off. My nails were 45, and were not worth it at all. If I could give less than one star I would. Extreemely unhygienic. The nail station they used was dirty. Used towel, nail dust, clippings. The lady was too busy watching tv on her phone to pay attention to what she was doing. The friend I was with was cut her cuticles so bad in a few spots she was bleeding. Then had the audacity to complain about the tip when she gave her person less than the others got because the job was sloppy. It's not even like she didn't give a tip. Wouldn't even say the deserve a one star rating. Where you place your hands is dirty, it had other people's nail clippings and shavings from nails. They use the same file for every one. The man didn't cut my cuticles, use lotion or any thing. It was probably the worst pedicure I've ever gotten. Then to top it off I've been filing the sides of the nails for weeks because he put the acrylic nails on my skin so it's been very painful!! Would not recommend at all! The nails looked very square and just plain horrible. They're in such a rush to get as many people in they rushed it. Will never go back. Recently move to the area and although I read the previous Yelp reviews I decided to try them out! Sadly I have mixed reviews, the great part of going here was the owner was very friendly and the person that did my pedicure was fantastic! We arrived an hour and a half before a scheduled appointment and they squeezed us in. I had the gel acrylic nails with tips applied, The person that was doing my nails was horrible, he was so rough was literally filing my skin around the nails and twisting my hands to the point where I thought he was trying to dislocate my joint in thumbs! I will not go back there unless it's just to get a pedicure! read more

I will start this off by saying, I am a licensed nail tech for over a decade. I was in the area due to a rock hitting my windshield and my car was down the street getting fixed I had an extra 2 hours to kill and had a conference to attend the following Friday, so i figured I would walk down and see if I could get my nails done while I waited. It was was a freezing day in January and about 11:30am on a Wednesday, I figured it probably would be ok when I walked in. Upon arrival they asked if I had an appointment I said no, and they made a big deal about it and said I was lucky because their gentleman nail tech just had a cancelation. I guess he wasn't too thrilled because I experienced the most painful manicure of my life. He filed my nails so aggressively that I jumped twice in my chair and began bleeding (he wasn't wearing gloves), he then applied my nail tips and 3 were crooked but I know that it happens sometimes and can be fixed during shaping. He then applied the gel with a brush that covered my entire finger, I was floored, there was gel all over my cuticles and all over my finger tips. I decided that every nail tech has their own system so I decided to just look up and watch TV. He then filed again and again it was super painful and aggressive. When he was done shaping I reviewed the nails, and all I can say is how? Why? They looked like duck bills, wider on the edges (because of his improper IBD gel application). They were all also completely uneven, when I mentioned that they were uneven he blamed my finger and then started filing the side that was too short even more. I told him to please stop and that I would fix them when I got home. I politely asked to not paint my nails as I didn't want him to touch my hands at all. After he applied a clear coat he just walked away. No cuticle oil, no hand cream, not even telling me the total. It was the worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. Luckily, when I got home I pulled out my dremel tool and UV light lamp and spent about an hour fixing my own nails. But I must say, as I type this my fingers HURT. He was so aggressive and rough, my fingers have split in 2 areas due to his improper filing and 3 other fingers are just sore. Very unfortunate. read more

This nail salon is clean, efficient, and professional. The range of colors is typical. I walked in for a pedicure and only waited about 5 minutes- there were about 6-7 other customers getting mani or pedicures. They did a great job- nice massage, great clipping, and excellent polish job. The only downside is price- this pedicure was more expensive than the places I used to go around Boston- $30 for a pedicure! read more

Worst customer service I have ever had. I have never had so many people be so disrespectful and mean to me. I didn't even finish my manicure or get my nails painted because I was so upset by the four nail technicians all telling me off or ignoring my questions the entire time. I have never ever felt the need to right a review before as I find most people in this industry are absolutely amazing and kind but this experience was so terrible to the point where I cried when I walked out. I hope those working read this and realize that it is so easy to be kind to people, and you realize the effect of being terrible degrading and mean to others. We had a fantastic experience here. Clean comfortable salon with very polite and professional staff. We all had great pedicure experiences, and will definitely be back for more. Two of the pedicures were for little kids, and the staff did a fantastic job with their little toes. read more

Not so good. I went in with a friend for mani, pedis as walk-ins. They said they had time but really did not. For the pedicures 2 people were trying to work on six people so there was a lot of sitting and waiting. For my manicure, I asked for gel and got plain nail polish that starting peeling the next morning. Very poor service. read more

I would give 2.5 stars, really. I have experienced better. I have tried to visit this establishment a few different times, during the day, and they are not always open. It was a hot June day, and immediately upon arrival, I noticed they didn't have the air conditioner on, or it wasn't working very well. It was hot and stuffy in there. Also, someone must have used the bathroom recently, as the whole place smelled like sh*t, literally. Not exactly a "relaxing" environment. " Friends" was on the TV, a marathon. I made an appointment, and was excited to get my first gel shellac. I was taken in 10 minutes late, and while waiting I noticed that one of the pedicure clients was BLEEDING on her foot towel, and the technician was NOT wearing gloves. It was alarming. I only had 4 or 5 colors to chose from, which was very disappointing. I wanted a dark colored polish, and they only had pastels and the "darkest" color was a hot pink. For $35 I expected at least a variety of colors. My nails were not filed very evenly, at all, and the polish was applied lumpy. I will continue to try other places in Central Vermont. read more
