She clearly understands the data from all of the latest research and treats appropriately. But Judith doesn't just stop there, she's addressing other health issues for which the source had alluded my primary care physicians. Health issues facing women over 35 are grossly misunderstood and under-researched. It's so frustrating chasing symptoms year after year, with no solution in sight. Until now. Not to mention the time she spends with you (1.5 hours for my first appt), her accessibility (they always answer calls) and the friendliness and compassion of her staff. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. My only regret is not finding her sooner.

She really pays attention to very important details and spends the time necessary to treat tricky problems, such as low thyroid, bio-identical hormone therapies as well as annual preventative health. She worked with Robert Allen Green MD on the cutting edge of bio identical hormone replacement and works with compounding pharmacies to educate other health professionals on thyroid and natural hormone replacement treatments for women. On a routine follow up, Judith picked up an atrial fibrillation in my heart on a recent check up-- something my primary care physician missed completely. She referred me to a cardiologist immediately--- and helped me to get medical attention that was urgently needed. I can't thank Judith and her nurse, Karen, enough for her wonderful care!

I was a…read morepatient over a decade and went with a midwife for my prenatal care after being told that I would have to wait until my second trimester and at that time would have to sign a document committing to only seeing Selah Health for all of my prenatal care prior to even being able to see Dr. Kang to discuss all my options for prenatal care. I had my baby at a birthing center and after being discharged I and my midwife went to Mercy Hospital to see the on-call OBGYN for suturing. I was told by that OBGYN, who happened to work at Selah Health, to follow up if I had symptoms after suture placement, which I did. I called Selah Health and they refused to schedule me, informing me that I was under the care of my midwife for the first 6 weeks postpartum and to make an exception, I'd have to have a referral from my primary care provider. I went to my primary care provider and had them send a referral noting the symptoms I was having that I was told by the on-call OBGYN to follow up on if I was having. I then received a call from Selah Health informing me that they declined my referral. I then had to wait until the 6 weeks postpartum period was over to schedule an appt. I was able to schedule with the on-call OBGYN that I had seen at Mercy Hospital and had to wait an additional 6 weeks for her to be back in the office to see her. The day before my appt. I received a text message alerting me to complete intake online paperwork in preparation for this appt. At the end of the day I then received a call alerting me that the person who scheduled me had made a mistake and I was actually dismissed from the practice. I tried to access my online account and it was gone. Since I had blocked my schedule for this appt. I decided to still go to Selah Health the following morning to talk to someone in hopes to still be seen. They still refused to see me. I was told that their malpractice insurance carrier told them they don't have to see me. I have heard this happen to other women who were patients of record that ended up using a midwife for their prenatal care. Instead of seeing us, they are telling us to go to another OBGYN/gynecology office, even though they manage our gynecological care. I was not alerted ahead of time that this would be the outcome of using a midwife. I also was dismissed the day before my appt. without any letter notifying me of this decision. This is considered medical abandonment. I feel that I'm being punished for using a midwife. I do not feel like they care for my wellbeing and sadly I do not recommend their services.

Injury on 6/30/23, surgery on 7/17/24. Had to have my regular Dr. from Corning make contact with this office or I would still be waiting until 11/6/24 for surgery. Dr. Brubaker specifically told me to contact if stronger pain med is needed after surgery. I contacted Friday, 7/19/24 by 8:30 AM. I also contacted yesterday, 7/24/24 as I need stronger pain med, a walker that is too narrow for proper use, & crutches that are literally falling apart after 1 yr of daily use. Still can't get stronger pain med as I was assured by the SURGEON that he would prescribe me if I needed them. The office staff is not doing their jobs. For me, frustration has been building that began with Dr. Akman's refusal to run a basic test. I will never understand, because other doctors have run the same test. Akman's response was, I don't need the test because,"I know what it is." At other times he ignores abnormal test results. In my opinion this is negligence, and it so perfectly illustrates the personality and manner in which Akman runs his practice. Akman listens to no one and certainly not to his patients, and while we are admonished to participate in our own medical care, this is impossible to do under Akman's dictatorial style. Without an open and analytical mind, Dr. Akman is prone to making mistakes. I have put up with Dr. Akman's arrogance and rudeness for much too long. Reviews of Akman on this site serve to reinforce my own experience. Dr. Akman refuses open discussion and gives no evidence of caring for his patients. I have never experienced anyone in the medical field with the same degree of arrogance and lack of concern. I feel that he is at the burnout stage in his career--30 years with the same old variety of patients; he can no longer hide his impatience and irritability. His office environment appears as worn and tired as Dr. Akman. I am pretty certain that it is the need for money that keeps Akman going, not his devotion to his patients.

"Dr" Akman turns my daughter away (swollen lymphnodes with serious thyroid issues) because she had cough (symptom of inflammation of thyroid) and very slightly raised temp 98.8 that they called "a fever" ....yes, I know.... ridiculous...symptoms could be cancer but we won't know because he said she needed to reschedule. (By the way, temp check multiple times at home, NORMAL temp. and she never had any actual symptoms of Covid, intermittent tickle cough is NOT "Covid") Needless to say I called and let front know that if he is that paranoid of Covid he needs to quit practicing medicine. I heard from a nurse that he already closed his practice 4 months because of "Covid"....I said this is why more people have died from NON TREATMENT than from Covid. No others in Northern California even come close to their level of education and skill. Their training in deep-tissue and injury recovery especially are far beyond anything I have been able to find anywhere else. I really miss them since moving to Sacramento, and may soon start making trips back up just to receive treatments at Daniel's office. The science and technology he applies is exceedingly rare, leading-edge and highly-effective. Many have considered Naturopathic medicine to be illegitimate or unreliable, but scientific research over the last 50+ years has proven otherwise, as leading-edge medical schools are now demonstrating with "Integrative Medicine" additions to their curriculum. Modern schools and medical practices, including injury and other trauma rehabilitation, now include many techniques and technologies formerly considered illegitimate or unfounded and therefore classified as Naturopathic or Alternative medicine. Don't waste 10-20 years waiting for this leading-edge knowledge and practice to become mainstream. Get the support you need now.

I have had LOTS of bodywork and sought out LOTS of medical support over the years, not only for my back, but also for other musculoskeletal issues and other health conditions. I have two young daughters, just turned 6 and 3, so I have been either pregnant, nursing, or lugging little kids around since I started working with Daniel 4-5 years ago. I have found Daniel to be extremely knowledgeable about a broad range of heath issues, and he has been able not only to help me with my back/neck issues when no one else has been able, but he has also provided homeopathic support for my sinus issues, which are now "fully under control." His bodywork style is very eclectic and different from anything else I've ever had. He does most of his work with the patient fully clothed, always checks pulses at the beginning of a session, and usually addresses neurolymphatic points first to release overall tension. This works incredibly well for me, and serves as a starting point before going in deeper with other modalities where needed. The frequency with which I have seen Daniel has varied over the years, ranging from weekly to less-than-monthly, as needed. Fortunately, things are pretty good for me at the moment so I have been seeing him less often. But any time my back threatens to "tweak" or is otherwise not functioning as well as I would like, Daniel is one of my first calls (often paired with chiropractic, as that seems to work well for me). I have found Daniel to be incredibly caring and his scheduling is usually flexible.
